Is This Your Homework Larry? Seedsman Skunk #1 In Soil

When i sold my SW Reef i sold all those kits too. You got me think bout soil again and im trying out coco... Keep Cruisin
Do you think that water test is in the ballpark? Seems like a ph test is a ph test. Still going to bust out and calibrate the ph pen but, I am a bit worried I have been feeding my plants water with a ph over 7.5

I think the soil and plants have figured things out again. Everyone is looking good.

Here’s a side shot of the net and Dwarf Star.

The CR filling it’s side of the net

Skunk1 looking better. Still not 100%

Then we have this little guy. I say little but the net is measured 8” from the soil. It’s gotta be 10” tall.

I also forgot about this addition. Made dinner a week or so ago and a clove of garlic was sprouting. So I gave it a home.

I would calibrate and run the two next to each other. You can do the Master Test Kit 2 or 3 times to get a good average, maybe more..? Then run your calibrated Ph pen 2 or three times and then compare the results. Then you'll know how often to calibrate pen or at the very least you can check every once in a while.

I stopped Ph'ing my water for soil a while ago, but will need to get back into cuz I got my new auto in coco.

Nice scrog, how large are your squares? 2"?

That sounds like a plan. The soil tests at a good ph range but I think the potential high ph water may be making the grow harder than it needs to be. If it’s that high. My Skunk1 seems sensitive.

My net is adjustable height wise and square size. The screws on the top of the frame are spaced 1 and 1/4 inches apart. If I skip a screw I can double the size but this seems to be working well.

Damn. Just went to do the ph pen and I am missing the pH 4.01 buffer solution.

Ok I went out and picked up some ph 4 buffer to calibrate the pen, and some concentrated hydrogen peroxide to smite those fungus gnats at a ratio of 40 parts water to 1 part the 26% H2O2. While I was there I bought a silicon bong.

I tried the bong and now I’m not doing anything lol.

I took this photo last night and meant to post it. This is my Skunk1. Not looking like it’s impressed with me. I have really done a number on it this last few weeks and month. It’s still growing in height and sort of praying but the growth seems off. Stems have the red streaks. Leaf edges slightly burning.

I should mention that I am looking into getting a soil test here in western Canada. Gonna actually start applying some science to this.

Found some clear thoughts between bong rips to calibrate my ph pen and run some tests.

I ran multiple tests of my storage water, tap water, and some bottled water. Surprisingly they were all pretty high and pretty consistent with each other (the master test kit for aquariums and the calibrated ph pen) , so by these readings and making some assumptions we can postulate I have been feeding my plants, babies, and seedlings a ph water of around 7.5 to 8.

Im sure one you get the PH dolialed you’ll be good. Check ur run off too. I used that as a measure of when ro do light feedings.

That’s part of my concern, and why I may change my current strategy, but there is no runoff in my big storage bins. It’s a closed system

closed system? Cause of the compost you only give water?
Yeah pretty much. Maybe the odd aerated compost tea. But there are no holes or ways for water to escape out the bottom. It’s a big black storage bin.

If its a closed system then u should b able to dial in the ph. What am i missing? Maybe a soil ph ykit test?
I did the soil test, it’s at about 6.5 to 6.8. I have been adding the odd weird thing, maybe stressing her out, so getting my water ph dialed in will help get things back to where they should be. Soil organisms doing their job instead of regulating the ph

I have been watching my mailbox like a hawk for some seeds. Still expecting some free Bruce Banger, Alaskan Purple, and Bubba Kush. My luck has been pretty good with winning seeds.

But, instead, I get this big fat parcel. I recognized @newty handwriting. Thank you very much for such a kind and generous care package. I’m all fucked up on the liberty haze. That bud smells like the old killer buds from the 90’s. Well done, you grow some killer cannabis.

Plus all those snacky snacks are going to make for some fun times.

I can never say another bad word about the rough riders lol. Thank you Sis. I am stingy with my hugs, it gives them more power :hugs:
