Is 1200W of LED

Imo it depends on what lights your running, as not all lights are created equal. Watts really isn’t a great indicator if it will be enough, you need to look at the lights par, ppf, ppfd, micromoles per second, the fixtures footprint and all that jazz. If those ratings are good then I’d say ya 1200 watts would be solid. What light are you looking at Timbo?

That's a pretty big area to cover for just one light, which is probably not 1200 true watts from the wall. I think you would do better with maybe 4 plants under it, or if you can pick up one more light then it be much much better. Good growing and grow them big.

Enough to flower and bud (Bubba Kush) 6 plants in a 4X6 grow room? Thanks in advance !!!!!

As Simplemanz420 mentioned, there are many things that factor into lighting. Can you tell us what you are working with? Not all LEDs are made the same so hard to tell.

For instance, our 250w kit will perform better than most of the "1000 watt" or "t1000 watt" kits on Amazon / Ebay/ etc. Quality components make all the difference.

Thanks for all your input, Using 2X BestVa 600w led with bloom and flower. Is that a good one?

I'd have to say no.
That light is rather small it's like 8"x12" with an alleged coverage of 2'x2' at 24" and that's probably a stretch.
Its actually 130w and I am going to assume old style Epistar diodes.
So you have 260w to cover 24 sq/ft which is only 10w per square foot.

Of old style LEDs you would need about 5x that wattage to cover 24 sq/ft.

The PPFD they are claiming is also suspect, what it appears to show is allegedly 929 umols/m2/s at dead center but less than 12" from center it's only 154 umols/m2/s.
That tells me that if it actually gets that high then it's due to a very narrow focused lens making it almost a spot light, like a flashlight.
That's not good, you could fry your plants in the center like 10" circle and at 20" from center not even have enough light for decent growth.
At least that what I see when I look at their specs on Amazon.

With newer LEDs you would need about 35w per square foot or about 850w (actual watts) for a 6x4 if you plan on filling it.
Minimum of 3 of the 250w Budget LED lights or similar.

Thank you for your answer Nunyabiz, anyone have a suggestion as to a unit that would cover this I could look at?

Hey Timbo57:

3 of these would do awesome in that space.

Our red spec would also be a solid option in 3500k for full cycle growing.

You can checkout John Wicks grow in our signature. Also check out our illuminating wonders journal.

Ya Timbo, I just peeked at what budget referred you to use and that would be a great option. Granted I didn’t see anything about their ppf, or umol.. what I did see though was that their using top of the line diodes.. osram, lm301B, and the fixtures dimmable. IMO those are some great lights and would you do you perfect for your setup... now I’m gonna start browsing budget led lights website for my next board lol

Hey Simplemanz420

Most of that information is there. It's a key highlights tab in the picture gallery.

Ah! Ok, that’s my fault for not looking well enough, sorry about that @BudgetLED So to just further push my point, 2.7 umol is outstanding... That’s a fantastic light no questions bout it. So let us know what you decide on when you pull the trigger OP.

Not a problem at all.

Hi , that depend on what is the real wattage of the 1200w led grow light, is it true 1200w or just 600w or maybe just around 200w :green_heart: Usually you will need around 35~50w/sft real wattage if using traditional led grow light, and around 20~35w/sft for lighting group design led grow lights. :D

Alibaba is certainly an option.

Just want to mention - Not all companies simply buy from China and assemble in the USA. We source both domestically and internationally for our lighting. We also machine a lot of our components locally.

There are tons of board manufacturers. Everyone one of them is different. We as a lighting company specify the build quality and engineering blueprints for our board when they are made. Same goes for Hlg, Spectra, and Invisible Sun. The build quality and design are why we offer a 3 year warranty.

build quality and engineering blueprints doesnt justify a mark up of 200%. less so when most if not all of the components can be purchased at a fraction of the cost.

convenience / warranty - i get the piece of mind you offer to state side buyers...but look at alibaba - you still waranteed!

We respect your opinion and wish we could figure out margins like that :p

I prefer to just build my own.
That way I can literally build my light custom to my grow space.
I just built two strip lights for $400 each.
325 watts per light, run very cool.
I am in a 2.5 x 5' space and will probably only run them at 250w each which gives me an even coverage of about 1000 PPFD . Also boost my efficiency up to around 3 umols/j.
In flower running at just 500w total at 6" off canopy is better PPFD than a 1000w DE HPS.
