Couldn’t agree more, lol and why nobody does it I’m guessing. This is a plant I would have otherwise culled, so it’s getting the experimentation treatment. This thing will look like an Edward Scissorhands lawn sculpture by the time I’m done with it.I don't know that I would ever do anything with a 30% success rate unless it was speed dating! [In case my wife divorces me I'm leaving that option open given my age .] In the time I waited to see if it was successful I could have been doing a lot of other training that might have been just as productive in the end. Who knows?
Good luck with it this time! I guess we'll know in a week or so .
Tuesday update!
A few little quickies today. First is that Sour G seems to be recovering from the light stress while hanging out under the 23w CFL all night. Do you agree?
Next up is a formal introduction to Bedroom Cookies Pheno 2, on day 43 (thanks @Archiweedies!). I fed it half strength nutes yesterday but I think it needs less N so I'll back that down next watering:
I mentioned a while back that I had given away all my Sour G clones except the one in the cloninator. Well...that one went into soil with loads of roots but a mushy stem, and it doesn't look like it's going to make it. So I'm going direct into soil with these since I want to shut down the cloninator as soon as the PC top gets enough roots to get planted (I want to use the bike shed to flip if I can...weather permitting). I also stuck in some cuttings from the PC and the FIMTFIM top from Candida w'tap:
These have been in water for one or two weeks but that hasn't been an issue before. They were dipped in Dip'n Grow at 15 dilution for about 5 seconds each before going into the ProMix HP that was wet from the rain, and then soaked with distilled water before being capped.
And last, here is the spooky man in the sweat jacket. I tossed it on the breakfast bar to repair the grommet by the hood string and this was looking back at me :
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for I had 5-minute 2-part epoxy and a repair job to do...completed successfully!
It's cool and bright this week so even though the highs are in the mid-60s, the radiant heat from the sun should be warming the roots. I hope your week is going well!
this case I think we can conclude it's just a genetic thing some plants have and that seems to be the case here.
one of SweetSue's trips to see Dr Doob I will manage to get down there, I promise!
Oh I wanted to get this into a post by itself so I can bookmark it if I need to refer back to it. Sorry for the repeat:
Final weight of Blue Treacle Auto 2, harvested on day 100:
Smokeable bud: 152 grams or 5.4 ounces
Botrytis bud dried: 19 grams or .7 ounces
Total of 6 ounces dried. Not bad!
For the record, I include the weight of the botrytis bud in my total weight because it will go into topical oil, and if I didn't use it I would have to use that much more smokeable bud. And I never bother weighing trim because it just goes in a big bag of frozen trim!
See if you can get a real topiary look to it...an elephant would be good!Couldn’t agree more, lol and why nobody does it I’m guessing. This is a plant I would have otherwise culled, so it’s getting the experimentation treatment. This thing will look like an Edward Scissorhands lawn sculpture by the time I’m done with it.
Thanks Dutch! I'm hoping that the greening continues so I can flip around Feb 1st, depending on how big I want PC to be.Sour g looks to be turning around! Some nice green colour coming back well done I hope she turns right around she’s a gorgeous plant!
Bedroom cookies yum! That’s sweet you and @Archiweedies can trade!
Thanks Amy! And you know you will hear about it when it happens .on the SG recovery
this was looking back at me
You can absolutely make fan leaf oil. It's just not nearly as strong as oil made from buds or trim.
You start by decarbing the leaves first like you do with buds. Then you slow cook with your oil (I use EVOO but others use coconut or avocado oil) at around 160-180º F for 8 hours in whatever you have on hand. Stir about every 23-30 minutes. You can use a turkey roaster or a crock pot if you have a lot, or just a regular sized pot if you have a smaller collection of fans. The less oil you use the stronger it gets, but you still have to cover the leaves.
You're not cooking the oil off (it should never boil), just infusing the oil with the goodness of the leaves. When you're done, strain the oil with cheesecloth and you're done!
Let me know if you have any other questions. We have a lot of oil makers here!
She is looking better to me good job..Tuesday update!
