InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

I think I remember reading it taking like 4 days to see the full effects of adding things into soil. I will admit to not giving things time to kick in before adding other things I thought would help.

Looking great! Those candidas are amazing:)

Sour G hmmmmmmm Top lighter than bottom, I’d say it’s light stress from looking at it.

Or she’s hungry but if the bottom leaves are nice and green, it makes sense that the light is affecting the top new growth.

That's ProMix HP, and I'm still using the FoxFarms nutes along with Botanicare cal-mag+ and either Pro-tekt or Armor Si silica.

That said, the Sour G and big AK-47 are still in Dr Earth soil with added perlite. I'll just be using ProMix from now on.
So because your using synthetic nutes will you be flushing last week or so ?

If the Sour G can't hang with the strips then it may have to fly solo to Mars.
I’m a bit uneasy with my one PEa girl as the new lights have seemed to turn her sad. No change otherwise just lighting and she isn’t perkying up how I would like her to. Maybe a bit more height on the lights or a few more days to get used to them but I’m not sure what to think yet. The other 3 girls seems to be enjoying the new lights a bit sad to start but seem to be peeking up

I don't flush at the end of a grow. The science isn't there.

Another place patience comes in handy with growing! It's been about 4 days and I'm not sure that what I've added to the soil are gonna save this one. Pics below...

I'm really leaning to the light being the issue now, and it's making me consider some changes.

New white lights mid-grow seem to be a problem for a lot of us. Me, you, RETRIX, Crazy... I hope your PEa comes around!
Most likely the light has her in a funk, raising the lights should help.
The screening, which cut the lux from 30,000 to 20,000 doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Wednesday wet update!

We are in the middle of yet another rain storm that should drop a couple of inches over night (I'm piping mine directly to Van's storage tanks). Yesterday my son's room's ceiling was dripping and there was a 4" diameter bubble of water between the paint and the wall. So I spent an hour in the dark with a bucket of Henry's 208 Wet Patch and a plastic spreader and I hope I got it all. I was patching the edges of a huge patch I put up there over 15 years ago! I try to remember to do it every September...obviously forgot . New roofs are expensive.

Sour G is not improving after the heavy feed and the epsom salt:

Since I have to get her back into shape, and since, as Derby said, things evolve when you make a big change to your grow, I've come up with an idea. It involves a tent. (Please hold your comments about me having a tent...we went through it already when I was going to buy one to deal with the cold! And this is only until we get back to warmer weather and longer days.) This is how it would work:

A 2x4x5 tent goes into my daughter's room as she's gone until Easter break. My wife is not thrilled but is okay with it on a temp basis. Into this tent goes the strip light over the PC, the Candidas, and the AK clone - at night. They still go outside during the day when the sun is out like they do now. I can then move the Mars 300 back into the shed and put the Sour G and the AK-47 in there.

The AK is not bothered by cold at all having spent many nights in the 40s in the bike shed, and the Sour G will be out from under the strips. I will also not have the AK in the office any more blocking the desk drawers.

This also allows me to use the shed to flip the plants for their 12 hours of dark and not lose access to the new strips.

I've found an Ohuhu and a Matrix for around $70 that can be here by Friday. I looked at the CoolGrows but it would take over a week just to save $10. That's not worth it to me.

Besides the "OMG you're getting a tent?" responses, what do you think of the plan?

Dude this is probably a dumb question cause I can hardly keep up if I’m off 420 for a couple days. but, Have you clipped any clones off this to isolate into a known medium (cloning solution and light) to see if that helps determine the problem? And you could salvage some clones before it possibly dies.

I’m still Trying to get my head around a light change that would cause this. I’m still trying to get caught up too.

I have taken a number of clones of the plant and gifted all but the ones I'm giving away this weekend. When I thinned it last weekend I took cuttings and I have them in water waiting for either the cloninator or ProMix HP.

I can't say I understand the light change thing, but I have now seen it in at least 3 or 4 grows that go from blurple to white in the middle of a grow.

I wonder what it is that stresses them with the light change .... I didn’t notice any problem adding in the LED along side my HPS but I get the switch mid veg has more of an impact? Grinds my gears I feel research is in order! Lol

Ahh. Blurple to white. Now I see. Good to know as I am going to be switching my lights. As well as they work they are just too heavy if I want to double up my lights on one side of my tent. And blurple gets irritating. They’re 42 lbs each.

I learned something today. Thanks!

Damn, I thought you had answered the question as to why some plants freak out when moving from blurple to white light, and what I got was an in depth lesson in photosynthesis.

I have to go unglaze my eyes for a minute...:)
Interestingly enough, I'm actually going to glaze my eyes right now. LoL
