InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Thanks, and it's interesting. I grew the Cinderella Jack auto, and that was supposed to be the same cross as what you list for Amnesia. Maybe different names for the same strain photo vs. auto? And I didn't know Pineapple SSH existed, I may have to check that one out!

I was just reading the strain info for Carnival and it says that it's part of the Haze family with the genetics, Amnesia Haze x Jack Herer so you might want to check it out. It's my favourite strain for getting work done. Its dominant terpenes are Terpinolene, Caryophyllene and Ocimene.

Tuesday morning all! Great info on the hazes above, so
:thanks:
all for pitching in with your experience.

Besides being the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year, it looks like it's going to be a chilly gray and rainy stretch here.

That means all the plants live indoors except to get watered and sprayed. It also means no nice outside pics.
:(

Your temps are a little warmer than ours but we have similar precipitation happening this week. :battingeyelashes:

December 21+ Forecast.jpg

I noticed these spots on the Jack Herer this morning (there were some similar ones on the Sour G). I'm not sure what they're from but I think it's from lowering the light to seal the Oval before I turned it off:

They're only on a few of the top-most buds and leaves, so that's my theory and I'm sticking with it.

I raised the light a bit higher this morning (~14" from the tops) and turned it up to 275 watts, giving me about 50,000 lux peak. I hope they like it because they're getting it for 12 hours today!

I hope raising the light helps stop anymore leaf burn.

I hope I get the same response from the JH here HG! I haven't got an SSH but I do have one Super Lemon Haze left in the fridge. The other one of those was a dud.

I hope so, too. It's a favourite of lots of people for a good reason. :battingeyelashes:

So I'll have Carnival and half of its parents here soon! And you have become an encylopedia of terpene knowledge. :)

LOL! I recommend you also keep your plants inside this week. ;)

Oh the burning was from actually resting against the LEDs. I noticed you can see the pattern of 3 of them in the first pic above. I'm worried about regular light burn across all the tops now!

As long as I hear "it gets me high" I'll be happy!

Hmm. I have some JH seeds waiting in the fridge right now. Maybe I'll pop one this summer.

I grew two Ultra Lemon hazes earlier this year. They were freebies I think. The first one was crazy weird and ended up dropping all of her branches about a week or two into flower, remember that crazy plant??? She smelled soooo delicious that I gave her another try with my last seed and I love, love, love that weed. I only got a couple ounces from her and I have not shared much of it either, a bit grinchy about it because it was so enjoyable. I think that was/is my only haze grow so far and it definitely made me notice. I think I have a couple of Haze seeds in the box. Anyone have thoughts on the difference between Haze and Kush? For some reason they seem like they should be similar…?

Oh shit. I was wondering how you were so positive about it, and also why the marks looked like something got dropped on the leaves. :cheesygrinsmiley: They are all still beautiful.

Thanks for all that detail Emeraldo! I don't have a clue what the parentage of mine are (the website states: Haze x Shiva Skunk x Northern Lights #5 as you mentioned) and I'm really not one who delves into the history of cannabis strains. The one who would know that type of info is no longer here, so I just read your description and marvel at how much history there is on many of the popular varieties we all like to grow.

I kind of assume that someone just took the original and made feminized seeds of it rather than trying to get it right recreating it from original parents.

More than be concerned about how true to the original lineage my plants are, I just like them to be as-advertised in terms of how they fall on the mythical indica/sativa scale. As long as it's a quality hybrid, it could be named after anyone or anything!

I know right?

Shed,

Sorry for your loss. You have a wonderful family, if @HashGirl is correct about that! :)

I guess the genetic lineages thing is a wormhole that one can really dig into, even get lost in, maybe losing sight of the plant in front of you. For me that's a fascinating part of the journey, learning the how (to cultivate) but also the what (learning first-hand what to expect from crossing good genetics). Especially since my kids are all grown and gone.

I've never ordered from WSE, just seemed like a retailer (not a breeder), but maybe I am wrong there.

Be well,

Emeraldo :green_heart:

Hey @Emeraldo, you sound like you might be the right guy to write the reference book we all need so badly. It's easy. First you gotta somehow get it so that once a breeder names a strain, that's the strain name officially and cannot be used for a different hybrid by another breeder, they have to use a different name. Then you simply compile the genetic lineage of every strain in the world and list each, along with growing information. The lineage should go as far back as possible. It needs to all be compiled with full color photos, the strains listed alphabetically, and in as many volumes as necessary. Bound in leather please. That's not a lot of work is it?:laugh::laugh:

For real, a strain reference book that was universally accepted would be awesome. Leafly pretends to be this. I'm talking a REAL reference book. One day....

I'm slightly jealous of your 50's and 60's... We've been in the teens already but we did see a 60° day last week it was amazing... I need to move from cold

Anyone have thoughts on the difference between Haze and Kush?
I might be wrong but I think the hazes are more sativa like as they flower longer then the indica/kush variety.
A quick google of kush and one says kush comes from the Hindu Kush mountain ranges.
RQS royal queen seeds, labels haze as plants with mostly sativa genetics.

Okay then, mess cleaned and moving on to plants and relevant quotes for the Wednesday update.

Contrary to the weather report, the sun was out this morning, so all the plants came out, got sprayed, one got watered, and now the clouds are moving in. I'm relying on my family to handle the schlepping based on how chilly it gets. Even some cloud-covered sun can put out good lux.

Let's start with the shed and the Oval of Brightness®. Before the lights come on, I raise them up to prevent burning from both contact (!) and intensity. This is 10" above the canopy and 50M lux at the tops:

Then I checked the temperature range overnight:

Much better, and the low was when I sealed them in, so it probably wasn't even that low. And the heater averaged 242w/hour. I can live with this!

And how about a few outdoor plant pics? Sure, why not.

Jack Herer on flip day 52:

Sour G, also flip day 52:

I sprayed them both down for PM, which has been trying to spread in the sealed Oval these days.

Next up is the Jack Herer 1.1 clone, which got sprayed with neem this morning. It needs a bit of a cleanup!

And finally, the Doug's Varin on day 51, which also got neemed (hence the slightly droopy leaves):

I watered the Candida in the 7 gallon pot (no pic since it looks the same as last time), neemed it, and called it a morning!

I hope your week is going well and that you have Friday off for an easy transition into Christmas/Saturday. Apologies for the sturm und drang this morning, but that's what sometimes happens in a room full of strangers. :peace:

Hahaha I did exactly that, was just like the old days, except this bud smelled like gasoline because of it's terpenes instead of from being transported in a car's gas tank.
LOL!

It's a rabbit hole that falls outside my interests, but as I said, it's great that there are enough folks around who care to keep track of where all this started.

This is what they have stated here previously:
We actually breed all the seeds ourselfs coming originally from clones. Well, most of it. For this we use a network of breeders both in the Netherlands and Spain.
...with "this" referring to Chocolope and/or Power Plant.

Yeah I've always had my doubt about the accuracy of Leafly's info, but a Cannapedia where anyone can contribute their knowledge to a wiki would be a good thing to have.

What's a book?

Hey mwg! :welcome: to my grow journal...it's nice to see you around these parts. I promise to catch up on your recently discovered thread later today!

I moved from the cold of NYC in 1988 and played a softball game in shorts and a t-shirt my first New Year's Day in Los Angeles. It's hard to complain about 60º days and 40º nights, but I do it anyway. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I also thought of the Kush genetics as falling on the indica side of the fence. Thanks Scotty! :goodluck: on the harvests.

Highya ITS,

Wanted to say how nice your JH and Sour G look! Those colas look so drool worthy! A really nice job with those!!

Dougs Varin is growing like a weed! A little burly. She's looking like she could use a trim. I'm guessing the leaves aren't turning yellow as much. Still looks very healthy! Happy Smokin'

And how about a few outdoor plant pics?
Plants.………shrubs or small trees is what I see. They look great!!

I sprayed them both down for PM, which has been trying to spread in the sealed Oval these days.
Oh no! Ya don’t want any of that in the Oval. Remind me again what you use for PM if ya don’t mind. 1% citric acid solution or something like that?

It's hard to complain about 60º days and 40º nights, but I do it anyway.
Me too. Suppose to be in the mid 40*s here tonight, but not to worry, it should be back to daytime highs in the mid to upper 70’s Christmas Day.

I think s North America teaching about 6+ hours a day on the solstice is enough to let all know that gardening is a long slow wi yet fix

Dang Shed your JH1 is the real show stopper here. Didn’t Queen do a song about fat topped girls? She would definitely be the album cover.
I‘m throwing you the Green Ribbon & that’s a #1 on my scale of beauty.
