Yes indeed it is, and yours are looking fabulous!it's always fun to see trichs!
Did any of the seeds make it to maturity before it died? It's dead!
You certainly can't argue with that picture - yikes! One of these things is not like the other:
So that would be a 5 mile radius then...The first two places she gave me were at least an hour and a half away!
The good, the bad, and the ugly Thursday update! Lots of pics, and some text as well.
The good looks like trichome pics of the Spring two, both on flip day 52. Neither of them are really close to done, but it's always fun to see trichs! Leading off with Red Dragon (the ripest):
Here are the three together:

If anyone missed it, the good/bad/ugly post is here!
It really is, especially after having it stunt the Summer grow. At least I can save the clones, and I guess I can try lowering the soil pH on the Sour G and CB to see if that helps them out.
Oh, here they are this morning...I forgot to post it:
I stripped the lowers on the JH to try to get the tops to grow big enough to clone the VG perlite way.
The sales rep at ProMix is looking for someplace local that sells it. The first two places she gave me were at least an hour and a half away! Los Angeles is a pretty spread out place.
If she can't find somewhere then one of the two FF soils will be my fallback purchase for certain. Or Sunshine Mix #4?
I’m loving that RD and the anticipation of it finished in a cure jar is getting the best of me. It’s the Beauty of your “Good the Bad and the Ugly.Leading off with Red Dragon
Whack indeed! Especially considering the manufacture date:I wonder how old it was.?. The info on the website goes as far as pointing out what they use for pH buffering. That was a pretty whack number.
Thank you Otter. I think these plants go back to October, but I forgot to look at the label this morning. I'll check tonight and let you know for sure.My condolences. So how long did she live? Do you expect any seeds at all? Now I want the 3 week timing to be true!
Do you expect any seeds at all? Now I want the 3 week timing to be true!
The earliest signs of seeds would have been around June 22nd, so that would have been just about 3 weeks before it died.Did any of the seeds make it to maturity before it died?
BL!Yes indeed it is, and yours are looking fabulous!
I know right? That's nuts out of a brand new bag.You certainly can't argue with that picture - yikes!
LOL! They came up with two places, both about 35 miles away.So that would be a 5 mile radius then
Amy always told me that outside amber isn't like tent amber because of the impact of the sun on trichomes, and @BeezLuiz discovered that harvesting based on the standard tent-based reading of amber left him with very low THC numbers and zero CBN. So we are both harvesting later than we have in the past to see how that goes. Are you sure the Red Dragon isn't ready yet? There's a lot of amber showing in this photo (above).
Thanks HG! I considered hempy early in my growing days, but it doesn't fit my grow methods. The plants get moved in and out twice a day, not to mention the moving around the yard to follow the sun. That would be a lot of spilled water and top heavy plants that can't be caged for stability. Even my 1 and 2 gallon pots get blown over, so I can't imagine how tippy a 3' tall plant would be with just a bucket of perlite beneath it.Have you considered growing hempy until this ProMix thing works out? @FelipeBlu grows some lovely specimens that way. Brett Blaze and VetSmoke are a couple of other hydro grows that look great.
Thanks Nev, and nice combination of movie references!I’m loving that RD and the anticipation of it finished in a cure jar is getting the best of me. It’s the Beauty of your “Good the Bad and the Ugly.
Thanks for thoughts sb. I started watering the Chiquita Banana and the Sour G with the pH lowering mix this morning, so maybe that will help a bit. The clones are just going to get replanted and the Kellogg's dumped. When the CB and Sour G move to 7 gallons it will be whatever I end up buying this weekend, and hopefully that will be the end of this misadventure! That sucks to the Soil !! Man hate you losing all those plants and having never ending problems !! But the Red Dragón Is looking tasty and the other right behind it
I hope so...I'm up for good surprises for a change!I'm thinking there's going to be some surprises! Good luck!
ProMix HP on Amazon is $120 for 3.8cf, or $31.58cf. At Lowe's it was $25 for 2.2cf, or $11.36cf. That's too big a price difference for me. I've never been to a hydro store so I don't know what they charged in the old days, but HD has Sunshine Mix #4 for the same price as HP at Lowe's was. If I can find some.Hi Shed. I’m curious, why don’t you just order the ProMix HP on Amazon? It’s about twice as much as the hydro store but…..seems like it might be worth it, no?
I don't even know if it's available! Still waiting to hear back from sales at Premier Tech...Who knows how much it will be in the LA hydro stores based on the shortage.
I've never seen BX here, and the only person I know who had some was in NC, so might be a southeast seaboard thing.I’ve got a few plants in the Promix BX and I really don’t see a huge difference
The RD is slowing down the drinking as of this morning (I watered it anyway), so it might come down next weekend if it keeps drinking less each time.TCK and RD are beautiful!
Well I sure hope you don’t drop $1500 on a bale! Not at those prices! I'd rather go with FFOF or FFHF before dropping that kind of cash on HP.
Funny coincidence...I just this second got an email from the rep who suggested LA Garden Supply! I'll call to double check.
Thanks GDB! I think my venture into soil is going to be put on hold now that I can get HP again. I'll have to deal with the environmental effects of peat harvesting in some other way.Lately I've been using Organic Harvest soil from Lowes. About 8 bucks a bag. It's got chicken poop in it. I haven't had any issues with it thus far.
I just called over and they don't have the bales, but they have the 2.8cf loose fill bags of HP for $22 and they're holding three for me until tomorrow morning!

Har! I don't think anyone even cares if I grow any more. Inventory is backed up in my son's closet so I could take a couple of years off, but then what would I do with my time? After all that effort I think you should demand smoke reports!
Too bad the buckets aren't.Looks like the price of perlite is still pretty stable..
