In The Lab

The flavors have seemed to be very similar but this latest generation is definately better IMHO. It's almost a bit "creamier" if that makes any sense. The only possible difference is if you were to get a green pheno, which I have only seen one of and haven't had the pleasure of smoking, it may be different.

Yeah, I can imagine creamier. That's part of the thickness on the tongue I suppose ... :hmmm: ... like a black grape/plum reduction with a dash of milk ... ?

But what about the high? Do you get a thick rush that fades to speedy?

Ok so my "rescue drench"ed three big pots are almost dried out.
Some questions:
How do you guys decide when it is time to water next in bloom? Top 2" of soil dry? Or some other way? You don't want to let them wilt like in veg right?
Since they got rescue drench last time, they get 1/4 transplant this time right? So how do I go about that? Flush first then pour the 1/4 trans on top? Like maybe pour 5 gallons of plain RO water letting the run off drain out, then pouring the 1/4 trans on right after that?
When you say 1/4 trans you mean 1/4 strength trans with 1/4 strength Tea right?

Thanks!

I'l give you my answer, so if I get it wrong I'll learn something. :)

I do 1/4 transplant in VEG. I do full strength transplant(XP) in flower - the same strength as the Growth Energy (GE.)

I water once every 3 days in flower. 3 or 4 liter/quarts per 7 gallon pot

The pattern is GE, XP, W, GE, XP, W ... until I get to the Cat Drenches.
The amounts are 5ml GE, 5ml XP, 5ml CAT, 0.5ml Tea per each 7 gallon pot.

After the cat drenches I do W, GE, W, GE ... until harvest - - - 7ml GE, 0.5ml Tea

Lot's of folks are intuitive and freeform with their nutrient watering. I don't have that kind of green thumb. :thumb:

I don't flush unless the soil gets overly full of nutrients and salts - this has not happened to me with Doc's Kit.

Rescue Drench and flush are there for the wonky bad times, I won't do one unless a good grower tells me to do a flush or a rescue drench.

So I am after cat drench, this means no more trans? Just water then GE thebnwater then GE?

According to Docs directions - Souods like I'm doing it wrong !

How To Use the Hi-Brix Kit said:
In High Brix growing, drenches do far more than feed the plant. They signal the plant to grow or re-produce, and they keep the biology in the soil happy and productive. This is where the magic happens! Water with straight water plus 1/4 strength Transplant between drenches except for the Cat Drench.

Growth Energy: This is where strong stems and healthy leaves come from. It is also used during the latter half of the bloom cycle to bulk up fruit and flowers. Mix at .5 to 1.0 mil per gallon of soil in the container.. Stronger doses can be used if needed, but generally you'll just waste product. Finishing the growing cycle on Growth Energy results in a sweeter produce.

Transplant: Should be used during the bloom phase alternating with Growth Energy. It is also used at
.5 to 1 mil per gallon of soil. Some growers have found that essential oil and resin production can be increased by using 1/4 oz of Transplant per 5 gallons of water evenly distributed to every plant with each and every watering....whether with a drench or with just plain water. Please note, this does not mean ¼ oz TO EVERY PLANT, but 1/4 oz into 5 gallons of water.

I learn the weight of the pots wet and dry and go by weight when it's time to water. Often times, the top half dries out first, so I dribble maybe a pint or two down the top to keep everything slightly moist and uniform as the roots draw more water from the bottom. In 7 gallon pots I water a gallon at a time, half down the top, half in the saucer.

How did the plants respond to the Rescue drench?

Use pure water with 1/4oz Transplant per 4 or 5 gallons for your next watering. A few drops of Tea is fine with that. No big deal. Do not flush.

Has anyone ever used sap PH meter together with a refractometer?
