In The Lab

Hey Doc
I wanted to share something with you and curious what results you would get from this.

I have a drench mix of Ammonium Phosphate, Ammonium Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate, etc. etc. to rev them up just before bud set helps them explode in my room, the first application is light strength at 2-3 weeks, and another application of light strength at week 5, I go 63 days........As far as ripening they are further along at day 56 than their seed moms at 65, cuts do generally mature faster IMO but I think the drench is whats doing it, and they are much frostier to boot...I like it.

Just wondering with your cationic drench alone or in combination with Bloomit at a low rate would give you any additional benefits at 2-3 weeks and again at 5 weeks, this is why I am very interested in your cationic drench results.

Thanks keep up the great work.

oh another thing i forgot to ask before but was wondering if you were actually monitoring your brix levels and if so what were the results

I check brix when I prune. Usually twice in veg and one, sometimes two times in bloom. This grow right now is between 12 and 14. Not my highest numbers, but I'm also doing crackpot experiments right now. I am really liking the results....now I just need to get the brix up a bit more.

I have more mites this grow than I've seen for a long time. No real damage, but it is alarming. So I'll go back to the book for a cycle.

What you're describing is exactly a cationic drench. I'd leave out the magnesium sulphate is all. That's basically what my drench is, except there's also fishy ferts and some microbes.

I'll do it your way this time and see what happens. Like you, I've also noticed a significant increase in resin after applying the drench.

What sort of gear do you run?

Doc it would be nice to see your results, I am currently running 400 CMH in a 4x4 tent, 25% happy frog, 75% peat perlite mixture, amendments bone meal, azomite, 6-5-3 mineralization ( recently added and tried starting 8 mo ago) great white myco. Fed with Earth Juice grow, bloom, catalyst, microblast, hygrozyme, grande finale. The lucky candidates all my crosses are a cross between MNS critical mass x Swerve Tahoe OG / Deep Chunk Nick named King Kong Kush and DJ Shorts Grape Krush x Lemon Skunk nick named Apple Jacks and Bubblegum x AE77 Cali-O/ Deep Chunk (tangerine pheno) nick named Tangerine Dream. Ammonium drench twice, earth juice fed once a week , foilar fed once a week in bloom with catalyst, sugar peak grande finale, microblast at different strengths, ie more of this early and less of that later vice a versa.
BTW that bud wash is the shit......
other waiting to pop Bay 11, Phantom Cookies. and a cooler full of other ridiculous strains
thanks for asking
BTW this is my current grow but your grow has drawn my interest because my grow is somewhat similar to your grow, like all great nutty professors we strive for the best no pun intended
Im good with with I got smell is off the chart, potency is crisp and hard hitting, taste makes you believe it was sprayed with oils and flavorings, bag appeal is so beautiful that its hard to think about grinding a prized specimen.
keep up the great work you have taken my own personal grow to another level

My results are to be found on my other journals! Growing is super fun, isn't it? I'm glad you liked the bud wash!

As far as I'm concerned I won't smoke unwashed weed anymore.

Yeah I got it and I noticed it on the bottle just after I posted the question lol I must of overlooked it when I first got the kit I was super geeked when I got it. Can't wait to start some high brix soil plants I mixed the soil amendment and conditioner on 5/4/13 ready to go cant wait. I've always been a hydro guy with great results but really been exploring the true organic soil and stumbled on to high brix about a month before I seen your thread and hooked ever since. I deeply appreciate it

So far so good!

I think most people think this is really complex and difficult. In practice it's far easier than hydro. You'll probably feel like you're missing some important step or not doing something you should.....because there's not much to do.

You got your soil mixed up and cooking in a warm place? Perfect. You did that exactly right.
You're asking questions, getting things dialed in, making a plan, familiarizing yourself with everything. Perfect.

Once the plants start growing, just follow directions.

Definetly easier than hydro. I disagree about there not being much to do. I'm not looking forward to remembering to foliar feed etc. Its ALOT to take on when one is accustomed to dumping tap water once a week til cut. Ill manage but idk that my lifestyle will mesh well with the program

Yeah.....it sounds doomed to fail. :smokin:

How about you just set aside 15 minutes once a week to mix up a bottle, spray the plants, and wash out the bottle when you're done? If things look a little ragged.....you might have to take an extra 5 minutes to mix up stress and spray the plants....but put this bottle in the fridge as it will stink in a spectacular fashion.

I think I've narrowed down the dripper to stress. Based on color and smell but it looks like it was just a little drip rather than a bad seal so no loss there.

Lol I doubt doomed to fail, I know this will perform supreme for me. But if uve read my journals you also know 15 minutes spare is a luxury I have but every few months Haha. I will perspire and follow the book have no doubts. But the extra work over my just add water style is hampering my high spirits. :) ill get over it when I'm playing with some high brix full melt.

Hey Doc,
I'm interested in one of your kits.
I don't have 50 posts so can't PM you ..
First time grower .. I will be following your posts and instructions as closely as possible.

Thanks
spnc

Its about that time mate :) gonna attempt to finish trimming, get the plants transplanted, and start the side by side, as well as get a link to ya.
