Ok guys stayed up late lastnight getting the tent put together after jarring my buds up that were drying in there. I moved the filter and fan into the tent more but sideways so i have more room to move the lights over. I wanted to do this initially when i got the second light but got lazy.
New setup with the fan and filter.

Hey toast? Have you considered mounting your fan outside the tent? I found that worked best for me. I have it on the floor beside the tent sitting on a piece of foam packing to reduce vibration. Just run ducting from filter out the top of tent to the fan on the floor.

And oh yeah, as far as that dirty filter cover you washed? I'd put it back on, can you imagine how gummed up the filter would get without the cover stopping that crap?

The problem with the fan on the floor is that the tent is in a long narrow closet so i dont have much room on that side and it would touch the wall im sure. I had thought of that but i just dont wanna bring the tent out into the bedroom i feel iffy about it right now. My wife still has some of her stuff here if she has someone help her move her bed i can just shut the closet door and let them come in the room. Or throw everything on the curb whatever works right? haha jk but theres enough room for the fan and the filter to fit in there like that in the corner, it fits perfectly and is out of the way now. The lights cant bump into it anymore. Ok yes i was gonna put it back i just wish it washed out better i guess im worried about it not sucking enough air through with it on the filter. Maybe that's why it smelled towards the end of flower cause the cover got dirty and didnt suck as much air through it? Idk seems feasible lol

I try to wash that pre-filter every couple months or so. It still looks dirty like yours, and bleach will make it white again, But washing it does clear it out and it shouldn't restrict airflow much if any at all now.

If you are using negative air pressure for air into your tent, go to your local home center and buy a cheap small furnace filter/filters/or bulk filter material and duct tape for your bottom intake screens on your tent and place/secure them with duct tape (you may need someone to help you apply pressure on the inside while you are taping it on on the outside.

You said you have a cat, and from experience, cat hair ends up everywhere... and while this is my first indoor grow, I am guessing when everything gets sticky it will find a way to stick to my buds...my ex had cats and I am still finding it floating around/balled up in a corner 2 years later after she moved out...nothing against cats, I just like them better when I go to visit them at her house!

While it is hard for many to do, if you can separate/seal your grow room from your home/living environment as much as possible including air intake/exhaust/filtering I would think that would make better smoke..(Don't really like the idea of smoking cat hair)

I am out of town right now but when I get back I will upload a pict or 2 of how I filter the air intake for my room/veg tent/set-up.

Hey toasted are you using the undimmable 300w Viparspectra along with the mars? I'm looking into getting the dimmable version with veg and bloom. Do you like the Viparspectra. I need a trusted review lol.

Yes dd the viparspectra is a great light and i am using the undimmable version, when i bought it they didnt have the dimmable one. Imo there is no point in having dimmers on a 300w light, just turn it on and it's good to go. Id go as far to say its the best cheapo led grow light out there. Especially for vegging plants. The mars sucks in comparison, its runs way hotter and has less light output. Using a lux app on my phone the lux from the viparspectra at 18" is 40k while the lux from the mars at 18" away is 20k. Absolutely pathetic.. mars uses cheaper parts in that older model i think.

Yea old timer i have an air conditioning filter over both intakes now.. i didnt before when i had the smaller intake, put em on a month or so ago. It helps a lot thank you. I have a cat and am dog sitting this puppy who sheds like no other.. i have a layer of hair over my carpet every week lol. I keep the animals out of the room now though. Its a pain picking the hairs out of the buds.. but there arent a ton as i had imagined. I thought it was going to be a lot worse. Pics of your setup would be great thank you so much!

Ill have an update when i get back from the store.. gotta get stuff to make no bake cookies i can make with my decarbed weed. My plants never seem to have transplant shock.. a little water and some new dirt they look like whole new ladies from the extreme droopiness from yesterday. Ill put up before and after pics.. its like they got their breasts enlarged or a face lift lol!

Ok so here are the pretty girls yesterday in their completely dry little crappy one bedroom apartments and today in their new moist big luxury apartments.. they are so happy now. I am so excited they are reacting much better to the light then i thought.. i have it 24" away and am gonna move it a few inches closer tomorrow i think. The soil mix is 60% ff ocean forest, 25% happy frog and 15% perlite and i add perlite to the tops of the pots for extra drainage as needed. Also added a mix of the jobes fast start fertalizer and epsom salt.. about one and one-half tablespoon per each 3 gal pot. They liked it with the first test so i gave them a light dose of the mix. I havent been giving nutes just mammoth-p and some superthrive when i transplant. I want to use synthetics sparingly this time. Grinded up my decarbed trim and bud, gonna make my first batch of pot cookies tonight i am very excited lol

Thanks guys!! Made the batch of cookies and my problem with cookies is obvious i always spoon them out too big onto the pan lol. oh well you are only gonna need half a cookie maybe, i licked the spoon and pan clean and im feeling a buzz haha. I put 13 gs of the powder into the batch maybe a little too much.. They turned out really good though! Cant wait to try one in a little bit!!
