Icemud's Organic SCROG! Grow 3.0

They look super healthy and "alive." Nice work bro! You're a psycho with the LST....very kinky.:goodjob:

Thanks Doc, couldn't have done it without a great High Brix teacher!!! I have found that this batch of girls are slutz...lol they love the bondage :)
I'm trying to get as many tops as I can before the V-Scrog screen come's into play, most likely will be added around the same time as the transplant depending on how big they are in 1-2 weeks :)

I'm thinking In about a week I am going to untie them to let them stretch up a bit. I think it will make for easier transplanting into there #4 smartpots. Also will be mixing up some more soil to fill in the gaps in there new smartpots, so I definitely will be re-mineralizing the soil before transplanting the ladies. I think this new fresh mineralized soil will give them a giant boost come flowering :) I think I am going to keep my eye out for some zeolite as well, I have been reading it has an incredibly high CEC value, so I figure if I can find it cheap, I will add it to the roster for next grow :) Thanks again Doc for your compliments, that means a ton coming from the Brix Godfather!!!

Day 30 Veg....

Hey everyone!!! Hope you all had a great 420 holiday weekend!!

The girls are 30 day's old today, and they continue to grow at about 1" or more per day. I am going to keep LST going for the entire next week, and by next feeding, which will be just plain water and molasses, I will let all the strings loose so the girls can reach up for the lights. Once the soil dry's out after the next feeding, I will be transplanting the girl's into #4 smartpots as well as installing the V-Scrog screen :)

Here are photo's of the ladies today:)

Tonight I decided to try a few things out so I ended up doing 1 FIM to each of the girls. I am not much of a fan of FIM/topping because LST seems to do just fine for creating tons of tops, however, I wanted to see the effects of FIM with LST. I made sure not to do it to any of the main tops, but picked a few well developed smaller ones to play around with. I pulled back the larger fans and snip, right across the lower 1/3 of the new growth. Lets watch them the next few day's and see what happens.

I also tried to test the Brix of 2 leave's, however since my plants really aren't large enough to sacrifice the large waterleaf's yet, I decided to take a smaller one from my blackberry, and a small one from my sour bubble. I wasn't able to get enough out of the blackberry, however I was able to barely squeeze a drop out of the sour bubble. The one drop was not nearly enough to give me an accurate reading however it did seem to read somewhere in between 10 and 12, but there was not a single defined line but rather a blured one from the 10 to the 12... Hopefully as time goes along, I will be able to do a weekly test to track if anything raises the brix higher :)

I also re arranged the tent, since I noticed my Silverback OG and my 1 platinum Bubba seemed a little behind the other ones, I put them in the back, directly under the Ushio 400w MH to give them a little more intensity due to there previous distance. I LST'd any of the branches that were creeping upwards and helped guide the new growth above the waterleaves to help hit the direct light faster :)

Other than that I gave the girls a good foliar about 10min's before the lights went out tonight and shot a few photo's before the feeding, as well as some close ups of the FIM...

Enjoy!!

Today was day 31 of veg...

I gave the girls a good look over today, again tying, bending or tucking any branches I saw growing upwards to force more lower node growth. I think I am only going to torture my girls for about the next week and then let them sprall upwards to make for an easier transplant and for prepping for my V-Scrog screen :) The pots are still plenty heavy, however some of the ladies are definitely drinking faster than the others so I believe by the weekend I will most likely transplanting them into there #4 smartpots.

I noticed while looking the girls over, there was quite a bit of "crap" on the leaves and stems from my "not so careful" compost tea feeding. I pretty much dumped it in the center of the pots directly on top of the plants just because I have them so tied down, there was no other way to ensure a even watering...lol.. I don't think they minded. :) any ways I wanted to wash off the leaves so I got a spraybottle, filled it up with 0ppm R/O DI water and added 10ml of milk, 2ml of fulvic acid, 2ml of hygrozyme, and 2ml of liquid carboload. These are all full of calcium, enzymes and sugars to feed the microbes, I blasted the heck out of the leaves with a pretty heavy spray, not a mist were talking about, and raised my 400w MH to the top of the tent while they were drying which took about 10 minutes. After the leave's dried I took another look and they really seemed to liven up and perk up even more :)

Here are the photo's I took after the foliar feeding :)

I swear I just looked back at my LST'd plants and it looks like a torture chamber for Cannabis!! I need to hang some shackles on the back wall...lol

omg man these babies look amazing, i can't believe the size already!

Thanks Deege!! I can't believe how fast there growing right now, its unbelievable. At this rate I may have to transplant them sooner than this weekend :)

Today is Day 32 of Veg and the girls are showing explosive growth right now. Each time I tie them down, by the next day they have already faced upwards and grown over 1". The Holy Grail OG is a beast, If she was standing tall she would be around 19" or so. Tomorrow I have to clean out my smartpots and prepare them for the upcoming transplant. I am going to wash them well with regular city water and then let them soak in a bucket of 0ppm water to help remove any salts that may have built up in the fabric. After they have been cleaned I will add a slight amount of H2o2 to the water to help kill any bad bacterias so they are sterile :)

I untied each of my girls today, let them stretch upwards a bit, and then re-tied them all down, trying to even out the LST to allow better light penetration, as well as to even out there growing area. Its hard to tell from the photo's but each plant has probably between 10-15 tops each :) All of the girls are showing pre-flower's right now so there mature enough to throw into flower, however I still have another 3-4 weeks that I am going to veg them to completely fill up my V-scrog screen and then some before the flip to flower. I want to try to maximize my verticle space as much as I can this time, If they stretch too high I will just supercrop them and hang them from above like I have done on previous grows, which seems to generate some hefty cola's!!!

Well I raised the lights to the top of my tent today after re-tying all of the girls, and I gave them another good foliar spray of the carbo/enzyme foliar I mixed up yesterday. They really seemed to look great after spraying them yesterday so I know they are really liking what I have been giving them :)

Well...on to today's photo's

slamm'n greenery homie, nice use of lst !

Plants are looking good, almost time for the screen, the space is about filled already.

Thanks OG!!! I can't believe how fast they are growing right now.... getting my smartpots all washed out today to remove all the salt build up from last grow, and hopefully will have them in new pots by the weekend :)

Thanks Chronic!!! I have found that LST works for me very well, just torture the living hell out of them, and they respond with tons of tops!!

Anyone have any ideas on easy ways to clean smartpots. I have been scrubbing them in a bucket over and over again, but some of the built up salt is really hard to get off the pots. Anyone have any easy ways to clean fabric pots :) I would say overall this is the only drawback of the fabric pots over plastic, there much more difficult to clean :)

How do I clean my Smart Pot?

After use dump out the soil and let the bag dry. After a few days of being dry, the dust and small roots will easily brush off. For most people, this is good enough. At this point the Smart Pot folds easily for storage. However, a lot of our customers will wash the bags in OxyClean or peroxide to sterilize. They use a washing machine or dip the bag in a tub. Do not put the Bags in a dryer.

Thanks for posting that, I didn't even think to check there website for washing instructions.... great share!!! I guess that I am doing it right, banged and brushed them off while dry....soaked them in a 5 gallon bucket, scrubbing each with a brush to remove any dirt left on, repeated this washing process about 5x, changing the water each time... I also was checking the ppm of the water as I washed them to see how much salts were being removed, as well as if the number was going down each time I changed the water, and it was. After scrubbing them and water changes, I loaded up a different 5 gallon bucket with 0ppm R/O DI water and again am letting them soak... the ppm went up to only 100ppm so I know they must be pretty clean now. I poured in a bunch of 3% H2O2 and I am going to let them soak for a few hours.... squeeze them out and let them dry... hopefully this will be good enough :)

Really appreciate you sharing this with me...lets me know that I'm on to the right track. I was going to put them in the washing machine, but didn't want to break it and have my apartment complex pissed off...lol...

It took me quite a while today to get those smart pot's clean but now they are just about brand new again and ready to be filled :) I measured out how much soil I am going to need to transplant and it seems that I will need about 3/4 of a plastic pot more soil, per #4 smartpot. So that will equal about 4 1/2 plastic pots of new soil mixed up. Since I have been also using this soil to make my compost tea's I will mix 1 extra pot's worth of soil so I can easily just drop it into a nylon and make teas :) So here will be my mixture...

6 pots of soil... :
I still have 1 1/2 pots of my premixed soil from clone stage so I will be using that....same mixture as page 1 of my journal...

remaining I will have to mix up 4 1/2 pots of soil:

1 1/2 pots FFOF
1 Pot Happy frog
1/2 pot perlite
1/2 pot worm casings
1/2 pot forest humus

For the remaining 1/2 pot I will be using :

2.2 cups of CalciumCarbonate
2 cups of soft rock phosphate
1.3 cups of gypsum
1 cup myco maximum
1 cup greensand
1 cup lava sand
1 cup indonesian bat guano .5-12-.2

This should get me just about the right ratio's of calcium and phosphorus and a highly mineralized soil.

Tomorrow I will be mixing up this soil and getting the plant's ready by untying all of the LST to let them stretch upward. I should be transplanting either thursday or friday depending on how fast the current soil dry's out. :)

That sounds amazing!

Thanks Doc.... I can't wait to get to the harvest stage already to try the new method, but still have at least 3 months to go... I will just have to drool over your pics until then...lol...

On top of that new soil I am going to give em a real nice compost tea to jumpstart them into the new soil :) As well as give them a light topdusting of rockpowders to work into the soil :)

Day 33 Veg

Well since the smartpots are washed and the soil is getting pretty dry for most the girls, I decided to untie there shackles and let them reach for the light. I figure since it will take a good day or so for them to start stretching upwards, I should be able to transplant them as soon as tomorrow, or for sure the next day.

I can't believe how big they are after I untied them, all that plant was just curling around and around itself...There going to be beast's I believe, the Holy Grail has a pinky sized stem already :)

Well here are the photo's for today...

Girls while still tied down..

Re: Day 33 Veg

Vanilla Ice Ice baby...dun dun dun dundundundun!! Looking so good there buddy!!! Your girls are about to explode with love for you. Are you planning on flipping anytime soon after you get those girls a bigger home? And I like what you got going into your soil. Are you going to brew a tea, then put it on your amended soil and let it cook before you use it...or you using it straight away? I love HIGH Brix! My girls are so shiny and frosty already, and im only 3 weeks into flower. A I cant wait to see your girls put out. MMMMM :Namaste:
