Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing & Review

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Hey Ice, that is for being so cool, didn't mean to highjack your grow journal with all my newbie questions. OK, so I'll get 3 big panels, might as well swing for the fences!:high-five: I'll also buy 3 4 site Current culture H2O hydroponic systems, they are very expensive, but seem state of the art. Yea Jaamz that's why I'm going all Intelligent Gro LEDs for all my lighting, no extra fans and ballasts and extra high light bills.

Not sure on this smell thing you speak of just due to personal experience. Used to have a 12X6 growroom that was used for years always in production. Shared it with other growers and that stunk up the whole house (2 story 2400 square feet). But, we cleaned COMPLETELY on each harvest (wiping down walls, floors, ceiling with actual cleaner) and it never stuck. Sold the house to some down home church folk that would never have been ok with smelling such a thing in their house.

Not saying it cant happen but I just never saw it. Keep things clean in between and you will be green!

Bob ;)

SUbbed! Icemud, I love the amount of detail you put into your journals! I was pretty dead-set on a Mars II, but I finally got around to checking out this journal and now I'm totally geeking out on the Intelligent-Grow! LOL I think it may be well worth the extra money for the awesome controller technology! I've been trying to figure out what LED system to get for the last five months! My fingers are crossed that this will be the one...

I have to agree with ice about the soil and hydro
its something ive noticed since hydro weed started coming out
as far as smoking it goes there is a difference I think soil grown plants smoke smoother and less harsh
but you cant beat the growth rates of hydro

A little ozone might not hurt either !

Just make sure that if adding Ozone, it is outside of your grow area, on the air output line/ducting, or in a air cleaner box. I've read that Ozone is not good for plants or humans in moderate amounts.

I think for your grow area, the 3 large ones will work wonders !! I am so far loving how these intelligent gro lights are working! They are vegging my plants like beasts, and if they flower just as well....I should have a very nice harvest!! :) These lights are very intense :)

Sounds like you are going to have one heck of a grow!!

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

So Midas, you're basically building a cannafactory. Three 100 sq ft rooms. That's electric bill is gonna stand out, don't you think. LEDs are a must have to bring that bill down. If everyone in the neighborhood has a $200 monthly bill and yours is $600 or more - red flag brother.

Good point!! Lucky that LED's are using less power than HIDS, your bill would be at least double if not more with HID... :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Midas, at $1200 a pop X 3 $3600, don't forget to use that 15% discount in Ice's sig; that's like $540 buckeroo's.

Thanks Jaamzhow!!! been pretty busy lately so I appreciate the assist!! Definitely huge savings :)

Thats good to know!! I didn't really think that growing weed smell would stick to walls and such, unless you rubbed buds all over the walls :) Keep it green and keep it clean :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

There are many a story of bud houses needing total tear down to the studs to rid the smell; I guess a worse case scenario. Not saying that'd be your situation.

I've never heard of them, but its a good thing to think about, I'm glad my apartment has a constant push/pull type venhilation going through it, always fresh air cycling through, with plenty of carbon scrubbers to help clean it along the way :)

Hey Boscoe!!! Thank you so much for the good kudos!!! I try to keep it detailed because me myself, I love details :) so I try to write everything from the perspective I would want to read it :) I definitely love these Intelligent Gro lights so far, very very bright, very quiet and growing my plants very fast :) I think you will like what they can do for your plants :)

What size grow area and setup are you working with ?

Yeah I like hydro buds, but they are different....

My feelings when smoking hydro buds.....They are much harsher to the inhale than organic/soil grown buds. The flavor is very (for lack of better words, pungent but chemically tasting) vs soil buds which seem to have more sweet flavors and complex flavor profiles. Also it seems that hydro buds usually pack a much stronger inital punch upon inhale... ( a very heavy high, might be due to the coughing..lol) but the high never seems to last very long, and after a week of smoking that strain, it seems my tolerance builds quicker with hydro buds.
With soil buds, it seems that the high lasts much longer and I don't build a tolerance nearly as fast, where I can go months of smoking the same strain and still feel the full effects...

Now like I mentioned before, these are my thoughts, not facts, but my experience... :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Just wanted to add a quick update, pics will come later.

I picked up a centerfugal active air/hydrofarm 6" fan to replace the 4" fan in my tent. I wanted something with a little more power and also something that I could adjust the speed with a speed controller for when its hot I can turn it up and when its cool I can turn it down.

Even though the carbon scrubber is a 4" connector, I am not going to be running this fan more than low/medium, but its also much quieter than my other fan :)

I also picked up a new carbon scrubber for my other tent (other journal) because the one I have has been run for about 3 years and really doesn't take away much smell come late flowering :)

I will update with photo's later, still got work to do on my tents :)

It's going to be a modded armoire. Medium-size, interior space about 18"x32"x48", 4" fan & filter probably mounted outside on top of the cab to maximize distance of the light from the canopy (I'll build a box around it later). A HEPA filter on the intake to keep dust and pet debris out. Just one plant in soil SCROGged. This is just for my own secret medicine, not a commercial endeavor. :) I'm figuring the 342w would fit the space perfectly...

Hey Boscoe, Looks like you nailed it! I would suggest the same one! You could even step it down with the ones that I am using, the 228w ones, but with lights I usually go slightly over, so for Ideal lighting, the 342w would be perfect for your size garden :) Can't wait to see it come together...you doing a journal?
