Nute strength only goes up in flower. Follow the manufacturer's instructions until where it says "flush" or 0 at the end. Feed until harvest.
Hi Shed,
I gave one of my plants to a good friend who lives a few hours away from me and she has been taking very good care of them but yesterday she showed me a picture of what looks like very late forming male pollen sacs and I just wanted to confirm with you that that’s what they are before I tell her to chop em down!

OK shed I have another question for you one of my plants that was hit by a very hard gust of wind fell over and the center trunk split right in half not completely off though so I taped it back together but it was not looking very good it’s been three days now lots of branches broke off the bottom even though I had it state the plant was so spread out about 4 feet wide it just kept falling over I did something I probably should have not done but I cut off all the huge fan leaves and pruned it way back and then re-staked it. It’s been watered properly and getting nutrients but I think the shock of the trunk split did something to the plantAnd many of the leaves look pretty bad and are turning dark around the edges I guess now just wait and see if it survives huh? Here are pics of the plant before 1st pic and the rest are after.

I wet trim and I recommend it especially for outside growers. It makes it so we have to look at every bud right off the plant so we can check for mold and caterpillars before they can ruin the harvest.

If you have nowhere to hang-dry your harvest (I use a big cardboard box with string and holes...let me know if you want details), then one of those racks will do just fine! Ideally it should be kept in the dark with some air circulation, and how long they get to stay in there will depend on the RH where it's hanging.

I also wet trim, I would only add to what you said by saying it is so much easier. At least I find it that way.

Edit: I will also add the trim to my hash bud pile. After that it goes to compost pile.

Cool! Do you mean hang the rack in a cardboard box? Or could i hang i n my closet? Details please yes! thanks.

Did you click my link? The buds go in the cardboard box! The rack you'll need to hang somewhere dark like a closet, though closets don't have any airflow and not much air to begin with, so a bathroom might be a better idea if you have a spare.

What's the usual RH in your house?

oh i think i understand you int just use the box! If I used the hanging rack,
Could you tell me if the buds need to be constantly rotated during the drying? If so how often? I know they need to be in the dark so i could hang one of these in a closet.
I think i could probably get by with something with about 6 trays 2 ft wide each tay for 4 big plants, do you think so?
Also if you have link for the best dry mesh hangers there are so many cheapies out there, i want a good one!
Than you so much in advance!
Warmly, Leslie

My RH is about 57

If you went with the rack you wouldn't need to rotate the buds, just make sure they're not touching one another. I bought a drying rack a few years back but I only used it once. I prefer to hang them on the strings, either in the box or the tent if it's available.

57% is pretty good. At least it will be hard to really overdry them if it stays there. A bit higher would be better, but I still think a closet is a bit too air-tight (unless it has louvered doors).

Awesome, one more question. I have not used BT on my plants for over a month. My friend says she sprays every week to prevent bud rot form catepillars.. I don't see any signs of catipillars yea, however the damn cabbage moths have been spotted in flying around my yard. I don't know if i should start using the BT once a week or if tis too late now, as harvest is only 4 weeks away.

Dry trim has a few benefits.
  • During a wet trim you can get chlorophyll seeping out of the cuts onto your flowers.
  • As your buds lose water content they shrink, so some of those sugar leaves you are cutting off would get pulled into the nugs during a dry trim leading to fractionally fuller/heavier buds once finished (Rewards of this obviously are more noticeable in the larger the grow.)
  • Leaving the leaves on while drying they form a nice protective husk around your flowers protecting them from light etc.
  • There's an old timers belief that dry trimming leads to better tasting plants
We've settled on a combo. We hand pluck all the fan leaves when wet, then halfway through the hang we go back in and start working on trimming the sugars.

Here is a bit of info on BT:
"On plant surfaces, sunlight breaks down Bt; the half-life of Bt toxins is 1-4 days."

If you have a lot of moths around then once a week would be advisable. Make sure the pistils are dry by the time the sun hits them.
You said make sure pistils are dry before sun hits? Does that mean it is better to spray after sunset? Another concern is the buds are really oily sand sticky right now I was afraid the BT might stick around? Would you spray weekly right up to harvest?
