Hyena Merica's Blue Hyena & Black Hyena Growers Thread

Bob...pictures...report...?

Peace, Hyena

Did a low and slow dry - in the fridge and just getting to the final trim. I have almost 1 plant in the jars. So far 2 1/2 gal mason jars each with a large Bovida pack. I can usually get 2 zips in that size mason.

Early reports from a friend on the freshies I trimmed today are:

Freshie buds feel under developed on breakup

Then hit with a strong fruity smell.

Buds are medium on the sticky.

"It's actually a really good smoke, SUPER smooth with a really nice high and a nice flavor on the exhale."

Still have BH #5 in soil. She's going to be the star of the show.

The blue hyena is 3 months old and change. But I kept it under t5 and topped it over and over again because I didn’t have room to flower it. Eventually it got too big and I had to scrog it to flower it. So I put a big sativa next to it and that only took a month and a half to catch it. So essentially under adequate lighting rather than t5 I would say you can get it this big in a month and a half. 2x4 scrog.
And the crutches was because I had a hip replacement.

Hope you're doing well Rooster! You will be kicking field goals in no time brother!

That Blue looks fabulous...can't wait to see the colas!

Peace, Hyena

Did a low and slow dry - in the fridge and just getting to the final trim. I have almost 3 plants in the jars. So far 7 1/2 gal mason jars each with a large Bovida pack full and in the cab. I can usually get 2-3 zips in that size mason.

Early reports from a friend on the freshies I trimmed today are:

Buds are medium on the sticky."

Still have BH #5 in soil. She's going to a keeper. These could have all run 90 days I think. The BH #5 is @ 90 days right now and is just starting to fade.

Black Hyena #5 - she was the runt @ over 7' tall and actually grown into the lighting fixture. Berries smell and its still there after drying.

Looking great as aslways brotha

I gotta lotta weed now. Finally finished trimming took me 7 daze to trim 4 monster plants.

Black Hyena not the easiest to trim.

Haul so far:
9 - 1/2 gal mason jars filled to the brim + 2 32oz masons filled.

So 10 1/2 gals X2 zips per/jar = 20 oz in a 4x4 space. That there is killing it.

I'm too high to calculate the GM/watt - but the wattage is 600w Timber Cobs for that 4x4
space. Ok yes I am.. just shy of 1gm/watt in the can. I could have gotten 1gm/watt easily if I left them go another week. The 1gm/watt is my goal.

Smoke is good. Still in eval... Looking like a heavy Sativa leaner but still freshies so hard to say.... wait, it's a heavy Sativa leaner.

Still have 1 plant growing. Did some trichome check this am @ 91 days in flower. A few ambers and all cloudy so chop in the am tomorrow. The BH #5 is looking good. All the calyx are puffed up and swollen & no nanners. For anything over 90 days that's a good thing. I could sneeze in a sativa flower room and get nanners the next day.

I've got AC going since about 4 weeks ago so that's helping big time.

Chop Chop in the am. We calling it done! Yeah more trimming.

Gettin er done Bob! Thats what i like to hear. I'll be keepin my ear to da wind for when she gets a good enough dry n' cure for a "smoke report!"
Congrats on the harvest.
:goodjob:

Thanks Sparky.. smoke it good REAL smooth with a berry flavor on the exhale and smells like berries in the bag.. still curing so just freshie report which is good. Sativa big time, gets my heart pounding. should mellow out after some more curing.

I've been passing it around to my friends so will get a lot of opinions on it. My only complaint was trimming. That was a chore, but plants easy to grow, lots of yield and no problems at all. One of the easiest plants to grow, I've ever grown I wood say. That in itself is worth the trim. Pests are the worst - these did not seem to attract any pests. This year mites were outdoors everywhere. Still are. I just stayed out of the flower room for the most part. Staying out seemed to help big time.

So much weed right now. All my spring gear is all properly cured so been dipping into those jars a lot lately. Heart pounding freshies good when starting the day! o_O

Hello @bobrown14

Wow - those are some amazing pictures. Our hats are off to your growing prowess. Those are some enormous colas!

Thank you for posting - much appreciated.

Have a good evening.

Take care,
Dan

Just an update on the Black Hyena seed that i dropped into a shot glass of water back around July 14th or 15th then into a moist paper towel for another day and a half or two. She sprouted a little tail but it didnt seem to get any bigger from day 1- day 2. So i still dropped it into a solo cup and waited....and waited....and waited. Nothing. Finally got to digging around in the soil of solo cup. Nothing. Couldnt find anything. Got another one germed in a napkin now and ready to go into a solo cup up just straight Promix and worm castings. I'll be sure to keep you all updated.
Peace. Im out. Sparks
