Does not look like PM to me, PM I have encountered starts more in the seam of the leaf and has a raise spore type look to it-like it's growing out of the leaf. those spots have a harder edge look than PM. I don't know how many strains there are of PM though so ?

Thanks both! I thought both those thoughts as well. It doesn’t look fungal at all, to my eye. It is weird it wouldn’t wipe off either. Makes me wonder if its some kind of disease

Initially I thought it was maybe dried on spots of foliar spray as it was a bit more drippy than I like the last time I sprayed. That’s why i tried to wipe it off. If it was just that, it would have come off I would think. Not really in the mood for a mystery today!

I’ve splattered my nute water on leaves before and it sticks if it dries on. I’m not sure, but you may be on to the answer. It looks like an even spray pattern to me.

What do the under sides of the spotted leaves look like. Can you tell any difference from the bottom of the leaf?

CHeers MAgoo. Nothing on the bottom from memory. But it was close to lights-off when I inspected them. ANd. I’ll look again later when the lights came on.

To me as well. It was my first thought- it came up a couple oaf days after the foliar tho... and yeah the not wiping off thing is weird. Maybe a Leafwash will be the ticket afterall.

Yeah - foliar residue is really the most likely it seems. I just thought if it was, it would wipe off.

I may well be the lord of time and space, but not for that reason! I’m not near Death Valley I’m on the eastern side of the Australian continent.

Hi Amy I had some last summer on my pineapple chunk and used "exile" an omri listed insecticide/fungicide/miticide. Here's my leaf. I don't think you have it. It didn't wipe off either.

That's definitely not PM Amy. PM will wipe off, I agree that it looks like dried overspray.

I’m very pleased it isn’t WPM! My first thought was the dried on foliar (Brix with Snake Oil was given 2 days before this showed up), but got worried when I couldn’t wipe it off... and i knew it didn’t look quite like PM, but having never seen it in person... so, phewf!


It was about time for the Photo kids to have a leaf wash anyway so I did it last night at lights-on. As the Bubba dried, the spots reappereed a bit but I was able to rub them off this time... which I didn’t (except as a test) because we want the Leafwash to stay on the leaf for as long as possible. So in a few days I may give a gentle wash.

For non DBHBB growers when we talk about Leafwash we are referring to this! This is what I did.

There is product info on it here. Anyone can use it, not just HBB growers. It washes the plants, gives excellent pest protection and makes your plants look wonderful! It’s also a foliar feed so it gives them a little boost as well ...

In the past, the fumes from it have made me really nauseas, like really and for the rest of the day, so this time I tried mixing it at about 75% strength and it was just OK. I expect it’s sitll pretty effective at that potency so I’ll keep it there.

Here they are drip-drying out afterwards, just outside the tent. The DDa small pots didn’t get Leafwash, they got their first Brix foliar.

NAd back in the tent for their day...

And about 11 hours later (and no, I didn’t get 11 hours sleep but I did get a lot!)...

I totally relieved about the PWM and sooo appreciate everyone chiming in and I’m in general very happy with how they look. I seem to have the light in good places and Brix levels are rising, I’m pretty sure from the looks of things. One day I’ll get a Refractometer, but ther are many grow enhancements to sort out before that gets to the top of the wishlist.

My room only smells a little bit like Leafwash, soo that’s a relief!
