Cannabis Oil Dosing Tutorial: Tacking Method

New specific studies have come out. I'll post soon.
Taking mucously (tacking) is proven to be more bioavailable than most other forms.
Really interesting study.
If I can't post, I'll copy/paste.

Sweet! That would be interesting as I haven't seen nothing on it, but, honestly I don't get out much. I already knew this but its nice to see something published. I assume mucously is short for mucous membrane application? As you know there are different area's to apply/administer the oil but none work as efficiently as the gum area (my opinion). I don't want to come off as naive but mucously must be a new word to add to the dictionary :). Can't wait to see the study as people always want intel and perhaps give us more insight. Tacking sounds better, be nice to have a small dosing port installed. At least I haven't been a complete idiot! Thanks cajun, you know I love you more than my old luggage even though you're an ornery cuss and have tendencies to lash out irrationally :)

CO Bioavailability

When swallowed on an empty stomach surprisingly few cannabinoids avoid "first pass metabolism" by the liver and enter circulation unaltered. Studies indicate swallowed THC has a bioavailability of 4-20%. This low bioavailability is in direct contrast to the strong wave of psychoactivity often felt. The reason for this contradiction is that the metabolism of THC, into 11-OH-THC produces a molecule many times more psychoactve but with key medical benefits deactivated. Highly psychoactive metabolites are the reason that a cannabis high can have two distinct phases.
...............
People mistakenly take an intense high as indication their medicine has successfully absorbed and so believe they are healing themselves efficiently but sadly they are often mistaken. Counter intuitively the height of the high a person experiences can be a relatively poor indicator as to the amount of unmetabolised THC that is circulating and healing the body.
...............
Due to the low and varied bioavailability of oral THC formulations, alternative routes of drug administration, including oromucosal (through the mouth lining), sublingual (under the tongue), vaporization and inhalation, and rectal administration, have been developed. All medical user should take note of their measures. This is an industry that would much prefer to produce a usable cannabis pill. That they don't is for good reason. Oromucosal has a bioavailability 5 times greater than oral ingrestion.
....................
The bioavailability of cannabinoids is lower when taken on an empty stomach or more accurately an empty liver. Oils are metabolised mostly in the liver and by eating fat 30 minutes before administering cannabis oil the liver will be otherwise occupied when the medicine starts to circulate. A tablespoon of coconut oil is widely considered to be a healthy and effective option. Other supplements can be taken with or mixed into this coconut oil..
............
The eating of the coconut oil is to otherwise occupy the liver. Coconut oil is easily absorbed by the small intestine and transported to the liver. This makes coconut and cannabis infusions/mixes particularly inefficient. For a liver problem it would be a very efficient delivery method however it's perhaps still not always the best as vasodilation might be an issue. Your blood vessels (especially in the digestive system) become larger, allowing for increased blood flow, which is normally ok. However for people with gallbladder/liver problems, this means immediate inflammation and potentiall pain, despite any anti-inflammatory effects.
...........
Just because a cannabinoid has found it's way to the liver does not however mean that it will remain there to successfully treat any disease there.
As mentioned before the enzymes that metabolise cannabinoids are mainly found in the liver. A cannabinoid entering the liver is more likely to connect with an enzyme and be metabolised than to connect with a cancerous cell. This makes liver cancer a trickier one to treat without additional supplements.
............
Beneficially certain plant molecules are metabolised by the same enzymes that metabolise most THC molecules. The enzyme is called CYP2C9 and the molecules are apigenin and amentoflavone. Apinenin can be found in tablets and certain foods and amentoflavone is available in supplements for weightlifters such as Amentomax. These molecules, as well as having additional benefits, will give the enzymes "busy work" allowing the cannabinoids greater opportunity to circulate, connect with and destroy mutated cells both in the liver and throughout the body.
............
This enzyme busying effect is called competitive inhibiton. A well known example of this is the grapefruit effect. A molecule in grapefruit called bergamottin competitively inhibits an enzyme called CYP3A4 that metabolises many pharmaceuticals causing a risk of build up and overdose. Bergamottin slows drug removal by 50-80% categorising it as a moderate inhibitor.
.............
Apigenin and Amentoflavone reduce "clearance" by >80%, a strong inhibitor. As one cannot overdose on cannabis we can safely harness this strong competitive inhibiton. This will allow cannabinoids greater chance to heal and maximise the benefits of an often expensive and limited supply. Amentoflavone is also among the more powerful inhibitors of 3A4.
..............
Slowing metabolism does not however result in a stronger high. The main metabolite of THC is called 11-OH-THC. This metabolite is more psychoactive than THC. This is the reason that a cannabis high can have two distinct phases. Slowing metabolism of THC to 11-OH-THC means the more psychoactive metabolite's entry into the body is spread out over a longer period. Consequently a person is less likely be made uneasy by a strong more condensed wave of psychoactivity.
...........
It's counter intuitive but the amount of healing occuring cannot easily be judged by the height of the high. THC will be long gone by the time the effects of the 11-OH-THC have stopped being felt. Additional oil should be administered whilst still feeling the effects of the 11-OH-THC if a constant pressure is to be placed on a disease.
............
To place a disease under constant pressure oil should be taken more than a couple of times a day. If apigenin and amentoflavone are being used perhaps 4-5 suppositories/doses in 24 hours. 50mg of apigenin and twice a day 200mg of Amentoflavone taken 30-40 minutes before each suppository should over a few days. A daily dose of 250mg of apigenin and 400mg amentoflavone is not excesse more might safely be used.
..........
Apigenin ad amentoflavone will interact with certain pharmaceuticals. Such interactions are well understood researched and documented and so can be checked. Ask your pharmacist and/or check online. This effect will last for perhaps a few days after their use is discontinued. Their usage should be emphasised to and noted by any doctors who might be administering pharmaceuticals.
..........
Apigenin and amentoflavone are also MAOIs. MAOIs block an enzyme called monoamine oxidase, which breaks down excess tyramine in the body. Blocking this enzyme helps relieve depression. However, tyramine can quickly reach dangerous levels if you eat high tyramine foods, which may cause a spike in blood pressure and require emergency treatment. Tyramine is not tricky to avoid and many people take MAOIs.
.......
Tyramine is naturally found in small amounts in protein-containing foods. As these foods age, the tyramine level increases. Some foods high in tyramine include:
Aged cheeses, such as aged cheddar and Swiss; blue cheeses such as Stilton and Gorgonzola; and Camembert. Cheeses made from pasteurized milk are less likely to contain high levels of tyramine, including American cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta, farm cheese and cream cheese.
Cured meats, which are meats treated with salt and nitrate or nitrite, such as dry-type summer sausages, pepperoni and salami.
Fermented cabbage, such as sauerkraut and kimchee.
Soy sauce, fish sauce and shrimp sauce.
Yeast-extract spreads, such as Marmite.
Improperly stored foods or spoiled foods. Broad bean pods such as fava beans.

Yes - cancer is an incredibly dramatic disease - we are all trying to learn and find our way to better health. I very much appreciate both cajuncelt and Motoco - no single person holds all of the knowledge and "good science" of any sort comes with many questions and many different conclusions during the process. It's all good and it's all helpful as we seek our individual pathways.

Hi folks,

We have become so involved helping others and always challenged with the latest paste, capsules, whatever all the time it is muscle memory now. Personally, many times I am more concerned with the ill than they are. So many faces I think of and pray over every night that they heal themselves. Just the way I'm built perhaps, far from perfect. Mo and I desperately need a break but it has to be scheduled so we can make sure everyone we are helping are on the right track.

ps Taking a much needed rest, beat down mentally and physically. Will return next Sunday. Anyone we are assisting this in no way affects you. Sorry for any inconvenience. Best to all.

Thanks again Motoco. Go rest.

Thanks again Motoco. Go rest.

Hahaha...I am resting. Please contact a Dr. in your area and get your recommendations first and foremost (always be legal when possible). The cost is from 55.00-65.00 $ in So. Cal. Just google in where to get recommendation certificates for MMJ and all they will pop up in your area. No appointments required and the wait is on average 30 minutes to an hour. Tell them what the VA told you and you want concentrated oil for your cancer and PTSD treatment. I know its going to be hard for you Brother to do this but you need your recommendations to proceed. Do it today no matter how hard. Have some friends help if need be. Then we can proceed. You made it in time as those we are already helping. No worries we will be fine.

Will do today. My recommendation has lapsed. Stop reading, Motoco, and go rest. I'll probably still be here next week. And God Bless.

Hi Motoco and Mo,

We hope your time off has been "time off", restful and recharging.

Well the first month has come and gone and I am feeling grateful how easy this protocol has been to understand, implement and modify. And most of all, how good in feel 24/7.

After my one month review with my coaches Motoco & Mo,
Here is some of their email to me....
"Your attitude BA2BB has changed so much. Now you know what we mean by saying and repeating 'wellness feeling'. You may also understand now even when your cancer is gone...yes it is gone, many people stay on a grain of rice in the day and ½ to 1 grain of rice at night. Imagine how great of a 'vitamin' this is? Great daytime and great sleep :).
Believe it or not BA2BB you're almost at your final dosing regimen except for one more step up at a 1/4 grain of rice. Its that easy my friend :). After remission of the cancer (permanently from my experience) you will be doing a grain of rice of daytime and ½ to 1 of nighttime for 30 days. We will be making very small changes in the last month after remission of your cancer to wean you down to a grain dosing. That will be fun, lol......Still fascinates me BA2BB how well you can feel fighting serious ailments. You not only look healthier but your getting smarter also. Even if you don't believe it, lol.

....NEW DOSE....
After your morning dose take four more daytime doses during the day and one at night. If you have trouble sleeping at night with the added daytime dose simply add a nighttime booster (small dose) to prep you for nighttime. So now total is 6 doses a day which is one more than before. Then after two weeks we will start adding a little to the daytime doses(tack)."

So I have increased my dose frequency from 5 times a day to 6.

My new schedule starting (May 4, 2015) looks like this:

1st dose; after breakfast tack 2 dots (back to back) thoroughly.(10am)
2nd dose; 2 hours after breakfast tack 2 dots thoroughly.(noon)
3rd dose; after lunch tack 2 dots thoroughly.(2pm)
4th dose; 2 hours after lunch, tack 2 dots thoroughly.(4pm)
5th dose; 4 hours after lunch, tack 2 dots thoroughly.(6pm)
6th dose; 1-2 hours before bed, tack 1-2 dots thoroughly of Indica.(10pm)

My total grains per day is now 6 (5-daytime plus 1-nighttime). {now a dot of oil = ½ grain}

Thank You Motoco and Mo,
ba2bb

You are so awesome for sharing your journey with us ba2bb, I can feel your positive Karma, great job. :Namaste:

Motoco & Mo, :circle-of-love: :adore:

Hi all,

The rest although not as much as was needed was a huge help nonetheless. Highlighted by Mother's Day with Mo at home we were fortunate enough and blessed with a great dinner at home and topped off with watching a movie 'CAKE'. Shows you the journey of someone with 'chronic pain' and PTSD/severe anxiety and the painkillers. Really a touching story.

I've a lot of catching up to do but will be back in and out as usual. Glad to see the forums still active with participation.

All is well. Following application and dosing to a tee. I feel well most of the time.

Hi John,

Thank you for allowing Mo and I our rest! This is what I was thinking you were doing and really, bless you for that! What you had in store for me was very suprising how you latched on so easily to taking the oil. Even more surprised how many things you noticed in a short amount of time. It keeps getting better you old pothead:) Sorry to say Brother but you will see that a healthy feeling can proceed the high feeling. No worries John you will enjoy your precious commodity to its fullest just not as much. If it converted Mo and I it can do you too, lol. Your going to be a quick study like ba2bb and no doubt will be biting at the bit to help others. Just keep in mind, help yourself first, learn the oil and then help. Otherwise if someone you're trying to help goes astray the stress isn't put on you through your healing process. Your a smart cookie sir!

cheers

Thanks brother. Going to Amazombie now to get the linked stuff...see ya!

Hey ba2bb,

Thank you for posting the dosing info, it'll help with mine, if you don't mind. (little rime there-feeling healthy)

Tacking made much easier:

Early last week I had to pick up some flowers (L.A. Cheese) for nighttime oil. A grower/delivery service who has been using the concentrate for a year now said this; " I want to share with you a new process I use 'tacking' in the morning as I have so much to do I was simply looking for a faster way to apply the oil on my gums".

"I've tried drying my gums before prior to dosing to find easier ways to 'tack' helping those who have a hard time with application of the oil. His protocol had minor differences but the outcome in my opinion is night and day.

First he takes a paper towel cuts off a piece approximately the width of a couple to three inches and folds it up a few times for thickness. He then applies his dose on his dosing finger. Then he inserts the paper towel piece in between his gum and bottom lip for a few seconds absorbing the saliva off his gums. As soon as he removes the paper towel he applies his dose. Wow, it sticks much better than anything I've tried to date. Do not use tissues or toilet paper, recommendations are napkins or paper towels (paper towels for best absorption). What is left over he takes a piece of parchment paper, takes his cuticle pusher, cleans off the remainder off his finer, puts the leftover oil on the parchment paper and simply adds it to his next dose removing it with his cuticle pusher. People with dentures (bottom specifically) do the same thing. Also for all folks have a small glass of ice water handy and as soon as you have dosed take a small sip of the chilled water keeping your head level to take a sip and then simply tip your head downward so the sip of water is just on your gums and teeth, no swishing, no swallowing, just let it sit there approximately 4 seconds and gently spit the water out into the sink. Repeat this (even people with dentures) for a total of three times. What this does is two things; locks the oil in place with the cold water and if anything was 'tacked' to your gums will show up when you spit it out into an empty glass and won't be swallowed (another safety precaution for those who do not want to get high. It only takes a few minutes to have your cuticle pusher/or like, a small glass of ice water, your paper towel piece ready and your oil. He uses his same paper towel a few times and his parchment paper for a week. This procedure gives you an excellent tack FAST, helps eliminate the taste which dissipates much faster, prevents anything that you didn't tack from draining down. Tip: keep pressure on your swipe. If going from left to right put the dose on the back part of your finger pad, right to left put your dose on the front part of the pad. When you take off the excess oil after you dose notice the amount left over so when you apply your next dose you will know how much bigger to make your dose so your dosing amount doesn't change. Always make sure you 'tack' below your teeth root line. If you have dentures keep the 'tack' as low as possible on the gums for better absorption. Do not forget to flatten your dose just a tad so it won't come off if hitting your lip or teeth while you're applying your dose.

Special thanks to Big Tony! (not because he is big, but for big flowers ). This will make it so much easier and safer for folks who have had issues with tacking, disliking the bitter taste, better chance of no 'high' or just a better method for all.

Cheers,
Motoco

I love it! Happy Tacking! :ciao:

Here is another "tacking" method that might be useful to some. I have been using a flat toothpick for a few months. I squeeze a rice length along the fatter end of the toothpick. I stick it in my mouth between my gum and lip with the small end sticking out along my lip under my mustache. Just as if it were my finger. It is easier for me because of the parkinsonisms and spasms caused when I do use my finger. Hardest thing is finding flat toothpicks.

Motoco - glad you and Mo got a rest (albeit it too short - isn't that always the case?).

I am ready to go full speed ahead with the tacking only protocol and I have a few questions - there is not a huge urgency here other than the fact that I would like to get rid of this damn cancer.

I am rearranging a few priorities in life and big shock - being alive is pretty much at the top of the list. I will begin to make my own oils and I am going to start my own grow as well - so my questions are somewhat phased - I know that you're incredibly busy so if these can be postponed please do so.

I have a good supply of an indica-based oil from a reputable grower/producer - I have the test lab results - it's from Blackberry Kush and the lab results show the THC content at 84.04% - should be fine for the nighttime oil?

I will not be able to purchase additional flower until mid-June and will not be able to make my own oil until late June. Should I just wait until I have a good daytime oil to start tacking or can I go with what I have on hand for now and switch it up as soon as I have a good daytime oil?

Now - second phase of questions.....

I will have access next month to the following strains, lab numbers for flowers are shown:

Gorilla Glue: 26.9% THC, .08% CBD
Blue Dream: 26.2% THC
Durban Poison: 26.87% THC, .11% CBD
AK47: 26.19% THC, .07% CBD

For a high CBD I should have access to:

AC/DC .94 THC, 16.95% CBD
Cannatonic: 6.97% THC, 20.00% CBD
Harlequin: 7% THC, 15% CBD

I'll make the oil in your recommended ratio of 2 parts high sativa (or dominant hybrid) and one part high CBD - do you have a recommendation given the strains that I should have access to? I'm thinking Durban Poison and Cannatonic but that's just a guess and likely based on high numbers. This will be my primary daytime oil.

I am going to start a grow but because of existing travel commitments I will not be able to start the grown until late July so I'll hold off on any questions about recommended strains to grow - it's will be an indoor grow and I'll have room for 4 or maybe 5 plants.

Thank you for everything you do Motoco - I'm really looking for your help and guidance.

Hi Hendo,

Yes Sir, life is a priority! Checking out the THC % of your Blackberry Kush it was harvested at peak THC so it won't be total couchlock. Blackberry Kush is a 80/20 Indica but it is a heavy hitter. I like it full term to get rid of the Sativa for night time but never the less it is a good potent strain.

You have an excellent strain selection. Your Sativa dominant are awesome. Durbin's Poison I would take off the list as it has been our collectives experience it's just one of those strains that was way to 'racy' during the day and overall just didn't like it much. Blue Dream is one of our favorites but so is AK-47, Gorilla Glue. Gorilla Glue makes a very light oil but color doesn't dictate its a better oil. Again, great strain selections! The AC/DC was harvested a week or two early but the numbers are still good. The AC/DC will make a better tasting blend than Harlequin or Cannatonic in my opinion. I've used Harlequin for almost 3 years and although very bitter is an excellent CBD strain and they keep bumping up the CBDs on it. Those are the numbers that my Harlequin produces.

Lets get the show on the road! Always time for cancer Brother! Thank you for your confidence and kind words. Other good info coming your way so when you're ready to produce your own oil you won't have to waste any money that is not needed. Will your travel plans interfere with your dosing regimen? Thanks

Lets Rock and Roll,

Motoco
