How do I germinate seeds?

In nature seeds fall as they will, point up, point down. I doubt that a factor so crucial to germination could be left up to chance this way.
I wouldn't consider it as crucial.. it really doesn't matter what way its planted but I just like to help where I can.. same as in nature it could be raining all day but in the grow box I can have a better environment.. just a helping hand is all it is.

Hey I just started my germination process. I’m like roughly 15 hours in. The method I used was I placed the seeds in rapid rooters, watered the plugs till it was soaked. Then placed it in a plastic tray with another tray covering it. Then placed it in a warm area. I used regular tap water without leaving it over night to take out the chlorine. Any tips or advice to increase my success??

I always use ro water ph'd to 5.5. i wouldn't call it critical for this stage tho. you couldn't sell one to me, but i know a couple people who swear by the rapid rooters.

@shera What soil are you using? What is your water pH? What nutrients are you using?

Definitely appears as too much nutrients (could be the soil if you arent feeding them, which you shouldnt be at this point) or a pH problem. Your soil looks really wet, too Could just be the lighting. Make sure you have well draining soil.

Im using FF-HF & OF Ph in The soil is 6.8 PH in the Nuts was 5.9 i didnt feed them that i have to get some PH Up befor i feed them on Wenday. The PH has been in the nuts @ 6.7 PPM wear 438 i gave them to small light feedings;and they love it.the PPM now is 578 but PH is alittle low so i have to PH Up it.. They are getting Sensi Calmag NPK 4-1-1 & Alaska Fish Fertilizer NPK 5-1-1 i also have some FF - BigBloom. TY for your in sight..

Hi yall, sorry off topic but im kinda new here, and i look even more new gardening.. So i come here looking for help, but i dont know how to create a post or if i even can, would anyone help a broda out with his growing experience? I have some plants both outdoor and indoor (although more focused on the indoor) and could really use some tips and would really apretiate, like all i do so far is puted a lcd light on top of them and trying to feed them water in a way i dont manage to drown them or let them dry out.. I i feel like i could spoiled them a little more if you catch my drift, cheers!

PS: the indoor ones are growing a bit tall and skinny (around 2weeks of life) is that normal? thank you again for any help!

They are going to Need more than water Sr..you have to in full detail desribe every thing about conditions and the plants ,Medium PH,PPM Lighting ect.ect..Happy New Year..Good Luck...

@Sueveefrostybudz before all happy new year to you aswel sir, well they are in a relativly small room, bathroom type room, ph of water im still trying to find a device to buy that mesures all those stuffs, i dont know what PPM lightning is, but the light im using is a LCD like 60x60cm 40w with 5400lm, i usually leave the door just slighty open for air circulation, and temperature here is around 8-16c in winter.. I took a couple of pics.. should i send here or to u or something? thanks, salute

I know I'm late to the party here, but Shera(and everyone else), don't use clear cups. Roots are not that fond of light. It's a great way to stunt growth and propagate root rot. You know how your mom used to put cuttings in a vase on the counter? She was doing it wrong. That's why 90% of the time she threw them away when the roots turned brown and the plant died. Just my 2 cents :)

It seems your plants are really trying to stretch out to reach the light. Maybe lower the light progressively to a closer distance.

I put these seeds in rapid rooters on the 19th of December. Ill never germinate another way after this. 6 inch pots.

its just alittle time now for a few more or 10 days the soil looks good (moist) who medium are you using, who is it? There streching alot !! move the light 8inch off the top of the plants it stop them for reaching towards the light and see if we your hand between bulb and tip of plants how much heat and adjusted accordingly and dont worry now from the view of the pics wait about 18 to 20 days of seedling stage to water them, thats from when they sprouted, dont count the days of germination count from the day it sprouted above dirt, it looks like you missed calculated the days! there are developing there roots system it looks like now still seedling stage and they wont do much really above, be patients just Learn them for now study them but not much handling and stay sanitary no water yet and keep a steady temp 72 degrees to no more than 82 degrees and try get humidity atleast minimum 50 to atlest 80 annd just let there roots seek out for nutrients and moister and Air and not much will be going on above; but when they do it will com in little sprouts when they hit Veg state the foileg will come in results of the stroung health Roots System.....❄✌✌✌✌420 Fam & Growers Choice Seeds

I myself personally throw my seeds in the growing medium root tip facing down, I grow hydro with hydroton clay pebbles, I very carefully place the seeds just above the water line and leave them be, after 2 weeks I have my first set of leaves, I’ve had a 100% germination rate with this method soo far
