How are you attaching light hangers in a tent?

Go to your hardware store and buy another large carabiner. If it won't snap over the rod then just slip it over one end.

I've got several sizes, but don't entirely trust them to hold. I also need to remove the light on occasion. They can be a PITA to remove without damaging the paint.

Yeah mate, tie the end your meant to tie to something and hook the hanger to the lights like you're meant to lol.

Zip ties are what I use in both tents. I don't cinch them tight. I make a loop and hook the carbineer to that. If I need to remove the lights for any reason I just unhook the light from the hangers rather than remove the hangers from the tent.

I find it easiest to use all the clips as attachments to the lights, with the ropes being sling over the poles at the top of the tent. That way, with 4 attachment points, you only need to adjust two adjustment points per light.

There also is the possibility of using other, larger carbiners.

I'd use 2 of the largest size you have. As above, leave the ties loose on the cross bar and simply unhook the small carabiner from them when you need to move the light.

As Growca2268 said - simply wrap the hanger around and connect it to itself. Here's another angle:

I've been hanging some pretty damn heavy lights this way for years. No problems at all.

I have used zip ties when in a pinch, what works good too is boat bumper adjusters.

I hang it over like growca as well and keep the ratchet sides down by the lights. Much easier to adjust and get to that way.

I use zip ties rated at 50 pounds. And if you think they might break, you can loosely tie an extra zip tie just in case one breaks.
