Mars-Hydro TSL-2000: Unboxing & Installation

I’m loving this thread!! So much so I just bought one!!! TSL2000 arrives Monday. Had a $25 coupon too.

Things are getting serious and I can’t wait!!
Cannot wait to see your growing feedback Sctanley007 :circle-of-love:

Kinda sad to retire my three other Mars-Hydros but they’ve served me very well. I’m sure I’ll use them in the future. I do have a 7’ lemon tree in my living room that I’m sure would appreciate some rays

I’ll be sure to take some before and after pictures.

Sidelights?

maybe for some seedling or clones :green_heart:

My new TSL 2000 arrived and I couldn’t be happier!!! The care taken in packing the light was about as impressive as the light itself. Arrived in perfect condition and wow is it bright. Strange to open the tent to natural light.

Although sad to see my two old school 300w Mars and my less than a year old Eco go...I can’t wait to see what this baby can do!!

@Old Salt what distances did you find best for veg & flower? I've got it set a bit over 22 inches out of the box. The plants only got about an hour under it before lights out so I didnt get to see any real reaction except for the Lemoncello... she apparently will love it.

It's not something I am precise about. I start around 24" in early veg and let it drop to about 14" - 16" by the flip, and then to 10" - 12" during the stretch. Sometimes colas will grow into the light, these are pulled away from the light and let grow over the light.

Glad you love it! The hanging distance is a big higher than the blurple ones, but not too much difference:
- During seedling: above 30''
- During veg: 18~24''
- During flowering: 12~18''
Cannot wait to see how the plants will react to the new light. :circle-of-love:

So far my plants are loving the new light and their growth has really been amazing over the past week. I’m getting ready to flip to flower, was planning on New Years Day but will probably hold off a few more days.

I’ve been using Jack’s Citrus at one teaspoon per gallon along with 2ml Armour Si and 5 ml CM+ As I’ve used under my old Mars lights.

I’m noticing the first signs of an issue with the new leaves. I’ve read everywhere that this light brings about the need for more CM. My question is how much of an increment do I increase? I went up to 5.5.

I admit that I am not well versed as I’ve never had an issue before. I’ve just been on cruise using it without question

I used the General Hydroponics' Flora Trio and supplements. The most CALiMAGic I needed was 1.75ml/gal or 0.45ml/l. I'd check your pH. At at pH of 6.2 you start to get maximum uptake of calcium. You may have too much Jack’s Citrus in the solution which is lowering your pH. At a pH of 6.0 and below the uptake of calcium is minimized.

To say my ladies have responded to the TSL-2000 light would be an understatement. They can’t seem to push vegetation fast enough. This light was a huge upgrade for me and now I feel like I’ve got great tools so it’s up to me.

Just flipped them to flower today and got a bag of Mega Crop. I’m switching from Jack’s Citrus / Blossom Booster to just MC. Three got 5g of MC this morning.

Jack’s has been a solid nutrient for me, hoping Mega Crop & the TSL-2000 blow me away.

The light arrived by courier this morning. There was a charge of $27.49 CAD for taxes and associated fees. We were happy to pay this small sum for the light. I only mention this so that members are aware that they may have to pay a small amount if their prize is imported.
Just an FYI, You do have the option to ask Fedex, UPS or whomever for the paperwork to do the import brokerage stuff yourself. Just take it to a border crossing or airport with Customs located there. How to avoid extra fees for international delivery services

I’m sure this has been discussed but what’s the proper distance of the talk-2000 for flower. Mars site says 12 inches....wondering what others have found their sweet spot to be?

Ohhh how I love this light!!! Switched to Mega Crop when the light arrived so the combo of the two is amazing!!!

Flipped to 12/12 on January 3rd.

I added mine to room (5x3) when I first got it. One end Cmh the other Mars TSL2000. Didn‘t want to wait. Left drivers inside room. No dimming. They read about 145 degrees F after running all day. Lots of variables to that. I will move them outside the room for next batch.

Got a TSW2000. Temp in my tent has never been lower with lights on...heat has not been an issue so far. 2meter wiring allows for driver to be mounted outside of tent but have found no need for this yet.
