Horse's Coco Hempy 400w CMH Vertical Crawlspace Grow 2010

Sorry Horse ! :grinjoint:

Just couldn't help my self, I'm used to OC+ and nothing more.

Maybe it was me smoking to much with a BudBomb pipe my helper gave me.
It hits hard! :peace:

By the way, I'm building my tent, just like you said! :Namaste:

High OMM, I'm jealous of everybody that can Get the OC+ to work, I'm crf challenged :grinjoint:

I'd never heard of a BudBomb... looks like it could screw you up!... get it, huh, huh, huh?... pretty punny :)

I hope you got a construction permit!

Hay Horse :)

Actually if I went the cage route....I would have had to get permit!:smokin:

Here's the Bud Bomb.

It's heavy as hell, but you can load it up put it in your pocket and have a token anytime. Hits hard too! :):)

How do you screw up OC+ ?

Don't you need a permit for that budbomb?

Concealed weapon! :grinjoint:

Yowzir, that is one lethal looking piece :grinjoint: I'd have to carry one in each pocket so I didn't fall over :)

Screwin' up easy stuff is just one of the little talents I have! I know it's supposed to be foolproof, but you know what they say, "they just keep coming up with better fools!"

Besides, the maxi stuff just suits me better. I like to mess with everything :rollit:

Well, I snowstormed everything in the crawl that was showing a stamen. That stuff is impressive. The T5 Jacks were getting frosty before, but grew trichs on the fans overnight! This was a foliar feed. I'd like to do it every night, but the label sez once a week. Anybody got the skinny on this stuff?

CMH plants are frostier, but not nearly the overnight success of the T5 girls?

The spots on the leaves I was getting on some of the plants seems to have
taken a break since I stopped the cal/mag Dr. Bronner's spray.

I found some smaller sized lava rocks at HD, and I have some clone candidates for 2l lava/coco/dirt hempies... just to keep things percolating ;)

Hey Horse looking great, especially the rooskies!

When you foliar feed do you spray everything buds and all? Lights on or off? Are you giving them SS as a normal food also?

I was wondering how dirty hempies would run in 2L's and now I can sit back and watch! :tokin:

Hi Horse. :)

Well, the SS sure worked overnight. Think I will wait until you harvest and smoke them before I try some.

Thanks for being the crash test dummy for us all. :grinjoint:

Your plants look great Buddy!

It's been fun watching an old time grower come inside. 420's been a better place since you have arrived. :peace:

Thanks BlueDog,

I'm just wingin it, so don't try this at home :grinjoint: I sprayed the snowstorm with the CMH light on, but wrapped in tin foil. In the T5 tent, there was no protection. I sprayed everything. After I sprayed the CMH ladies, I turned on the bulb cooling fan for 15-20 min before I uncovered the light.

I wasn't planning on watering with the SS, unless I change my mind :)

I'm going to make up some more 2l dirty hempies (I like that :thumb:) today. I'm not sure if I'll put lava rocks in the mix, though. 2l isn't much medium:scratchinghead:

How often do you gals/guys snowstorm? Funny thing is, I moved to the flatlands to get away from that kind of weather :icon_roll

Morning Horse! I think I'll try the foliar spray myself. I've been using it at the recommended dosage in every watering for the last week or so, haven't noticed any effects but the girls are still quite young.

I had the exact same question in my mind about the lava rocks and 2l's, I think you'd have to only use very small pieces. TwoTokes is in bigger containers and he gets credit for 'dirty' hempies, I stole it from him.

How come you wrap the bulb in foil rather than turn it off?

Thanks bro and go Butler Bulldogs!

Hay OMM, I hope you're paying attention to all my dopey mistakes :)

And, I know what you mean about waiting til I harvest, for a Snowstorm assessment. Mrs Horse just asked me what's in the stuff? Eliphino!

Thanks for the kind words, OMM. This 420 site, though, has a great bunch of growers, with such obliging personalities, who love seeing other folks learn how to grow great pot. I'm just glad I fell into this rabbit hole :grinjoint:

Yeah buddy, go Butler!

I have a hard time seeing in really dim light (duh). I've got green bulbs hanging around, but it's still tough seeing all the ailments I lay on my plants :grinjoint:

The foil still lets some light out, plus I think turning bulbs off and on wears em out faster. I don't know if that's true, but I believe it :)

Man, I'm paying attention! Horse :)
But it's all going into short term memory! I can't seem to connect to long term any more, only in quick flashes now and then. I write things down and forget to read them. So it goes.

So Mrs Horse asked too....she's got your back, or self protection is clicking in.:grinjoint: I had to look up Eliphino. Your a daring old fart! :yikes:
Each one of us fell in that rabbit hole, the good ones stayed! :)

I am also using lava rock in some of my 1/2 gallon hempies. The only difference is I dropped from 50% to 40% lava rock. I did try to not use the biggest pieces but did not spend much extra time worrying about it. :Namaste:

Hay TT, Have you finished any of the 1/2gal buckets, and checked for rootboundedness?

I may get around to potting a couple up this afternoon. I like the nook and cranny concept ;)

Thanks

I don't know if you can have truly root-bound hempies. Smaller pots are more root limiting. The frequent flow through of water removes the problems that straight soil grows would have.

The pot size just somewhat limits the size of the plant. I have grown plants in gallon pots that are as big as my 2.5 gallon pots. The difference is the frequency of watering.

My 1/2 gallon hempies require daily watering. 1 gallon need watering every 1-2 days. 2.5 gallon every 2-4 days.

Part of the differential in watering times is dependent on how much water i use. Sometimes I just add enough to keep the pot from drying out. Sometimes just to the point where water starts trickling out the hole and other times I plug the hole and flood them.

Kind of like english muffins for plants!:grinjoint:

Though lava rock would be considered neutral for nute purposes, I think the roots are attracted to the mineral content.

Roots grow around and through perlite. They seem to hug lava rock and grow into the nooks and crannies.

Try putting a clone into a clear hempy cup with lava rock at the bottom and keep the clear cup inside a beer cup. You will see what I mean. (I should have taken pics).

My mini-hempies get root bound if I slack on the transplanting, which is usually. :grinjoint:

Sounds like we have the same watering schedule... whenever ;)

The T5 jacks are in square 1g pots. They've only needed drinks every 3-4 days, which is what the bigger jacks in 3l buckets want.

Unless I'm giving them a little tea treat, I try to only water when the buckets are light.

When the T5 Jacks were vegging in grow bags, I had to water nearly every day... made the little hempies an easy choice :)

DahliHempy seems very non-commital about how much runoff to go for.

I actually like my mini-hempies to get to that stage. They stop growing up and get bushier. Just have to soak them daily.

I grew a clone out all the way to harvest in a beer cup. Needed water near the beginning and end of 12/12. Grew 16" tall with a nice long cola. No leaf or growth problems associated with being root bound.

Don't plan on ever going smaller than 1/2 gallon again. Might do a grow with nothing but gallons. However, the 2.5 gallon hempies seem to give me the perfect balance between hempy and soil.

Lava rock buckets are never light.:grinjoint: You need to pay attention to leaf droop. Kind of determined that mine need at least 1/2 gallon every two days but can go longer on full flood. The good thing about hempy is that it is real hard to overwater. :) It might be good to do 1 coco/perlite hempy at the same time. When it is light, water everything.:rollit:
