Horse's Coco Hempy 400w CMH Vertical Crawlspace Grow 2010

This morning was trim time. 6 days drying in newspaper blankets. They've still got some drying to do.

The top buds went from 236g wet to 83.6g.

Popcorn buds from 118g to 32g

There was so little, I trimmed accordingly :)

Whatever I end up with will be okay, expensive, but ok ;) The electric heater is a bit of a kick in the head.

I think I would have done better to skip the OC= for this cool weather grow. I don't think this Jack bulked up like she could have. When I started running the KoolBloom and Sucanat, it was pretty late for this girl. So, I'm not sure if they did anything much, but they are some sticky, frosty, sweet smelling buds. Maybe Jacks are naturally that way? I probably should have left her alone, with just the CMH, and seen what happened, but greedy pig that I am, I hit her with the enhancements!

I've got more in the wings, so maybe I can learn some patience?

The rest of the players... Little Jack at 40 days in front of 400w CHM 12/12.

White Russian mutant mother also at 40 days 12/12.

I think she may have finally stopped revegging, but? Trichs everywhere.

Both Little Jack and WR are coco hempys w/ OC+. I've been hitting them with MaxiCrop Seaweed, and now Age Old Kelp, Sucanat and KoolBloom. I just got some MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom, and was thinking of adding a little to their next feeding since the cool temps seemed to have stalled the OC+. Does that sound okay, or more like pushing things?... and out of sequence, too, I know.

Next up are these 34 day old clones taken off Little Jack. I was cleaning up Little Jack and figured I'd try some flowering clones. Most of the cuttings I took were pretty sorry, low, tangled, not used to seeing light loser branches. Some still are like that, but these stepped up :cheer:

I'm going to try them in a T5 SOG, since small plants seem to be my speciality :)

I raised them in Fafard container soil hempys. The bluish cups are nice to see if roots are happening, and the red slipcover keeps the light out after that.

My son started these White Russian clones in a cloneator. I'm not sure how old they are, but I got them Dec. 8th. They look a lot different than their mutant mom.

I cleaned them up and got some nice clones a week ago. They're the ones in the blue cups.

This is a Jack Herer clone my son took off of Little Jack, he thinks :) So much to keep track of. I'm just hoping it's not one of the danged hermi Jamaicans... seems there may be a possibility... she sure is nice. Same indeterminable age as the WRs.

I've bagged the OC+. Coco hempys w/ 2 coco/1 Fafard. This Fafard soil has some nutes, and I put 2 tbs/gal of Happy Frog Jump Start, which is a low dose organic TRF w/ mychorrizhae (sp?), among many other things. I've also got some GH MaxiGrow dry.

Everybody is looking good. If I can keep the timing right, this could be a perpetual motion machine... I hate being one of the variables :tokin:

Thanks for lookin' in...

High Tmac,

I've got 7 JHs to start the SOG. It's a 2'x4'x4' thereabouts tent, and I think I want to get 18 plants in there. I'm not sure how the T5s will bloom, but I have them until I can find the willies for an LED. Could be a long time :)

The larger jack and the WRs need to grow about a foot, then they're going in the bloom tent. I hope that's 2 or 3 weeks. Which would go nicely with harvesting the Jack already in bloom.

Nothing's worked out according to schedule or hope, so far though, ha!

Say, how have you done with the gnats? I occasionally see some tiny flying things that look like gnats. Mrs Horse thinks they came from some coco she used for an amaryliss, and I remember reading something about harmless flying things that seemed to come along with coco? Made me wonder about your fight.

Thanks for stoopin' in!

Hay Horse! How are the temps in the crawl? I'm about 78 daytime, mid to low 60's nights and the OC+ has been all I've used and it's worked great.

Nice harvest and clones, I'm using that clear plastic cup technique myself this go round, will be great to see the roots. Good luck!

Hi Horse! :grinjoint:

You've been busy. Nice buds you have there. You have enough started to have a big grow this time around. Good Luck with them all! :bravo:

Howdee OMM!

Tried a little of the Jack last night, it whams me right between the eyes :) Smells wonderful, and tastes like old roaches... this one definitely needs a cure

I'm scattered enough already, but trying to figure out a grow that's semi-simple, but works with what I've got, is pulling me all over the place. Nuts, but interesting :tokin:

Hay, thanks for the well wishes :grinjoint:

Bow wow BlueDog :smokin:

The canopy temps are going between 60 and 75°. I'm not sure what my bucket temps are, but it seems to be below OC's 70° optimum. Last summer, it was too hot :grinjoint:

Since OC needs to be supplemented anyway, it may be better for me to skip it. Dunno? I do know it's a lot less expensive to change nutes than to come up with the couple grand I need to condition my crawl ;)

I stole that cup trick from GrowingGirls, tip 'o' the hat, it's worked great, so far :)

Thanks for stoopin' in

High Horse! That sounds strange High Horse kind of sounds like I'm talking bad about you.:)

What do you mean OC+ needs supplements? That's all my girls get, nothing else. They do pretty good. Now I'm worried again. :smokin:

Yeah, Jack is good! :grinjoint:

OMM since you're in soil I think OC+ is perfect for you. If you're in hydro though lots of peeps need to supplement with cal/mag.

My only issue is right now, at the end. I'm not sure if the prills are still doing their thing or not, leaves are yellowing etc. I'm just going to ride it out, at worst I guess it will be like a flush.

Horse I know IrishBoy had problems with OC+ and heat, he switched to dynamite red and is real happy.

OC+ doesn't release much below 70 because the plants aren't going to grow much either.

I doubt that any one thing will work for everyone, that's part of dialing in your own environment. I'm sure you'll find what's just right for you Horse.... crawl specific nutes lol

Don't worry OMM, I'm the last person to ride a high horse, much less ever think of you as bad mouthing anyone :).

Setting Sun, I believe, posted a best practices report for OC+. There was something about supplemental feedings 2x a week, IIRC :tokin:

But, I don't recall what medium you have in those airpots? 'Sides, if you are getting great results with nothing else, and it certainly looks like you are, don't mess with anything!!!

I'm not, so I'm doing the mess around :grinjoint:

Yep, that's the dealio BlueDog... outside, in the vegetable garden, OC works great. But I still need to add some sort of calcium for blossom end rot in the tomatoes.

Under the house, things seem to grow pretty well until the temps go below 60°, unless I'm using OC... and then 70° does seem like the cut off.

If the temps were right, I found I could add more OC anytime...

Tweak, tweak, tweak :)

Yeah OMM if you'd been supplementing your buds would be at least 3x the size you've been growing. Did we forget to mention that to you? Oops :)

Blue, come completely clean and tell OMM about the 3x increase in potency.:grinjoint:

Horse, couple more ideas. You could warm the girls feet with some seedling mats. That should keep pot temps above 70. Or you could top dress with OC+ and water with warm water.

IrishBoy had massive heat problems and the OC+ was releasing too fast so he switched to Dynamite Red and Purple, because they are a steady time-release nute. Might want to give it a try Horse, they sell them cheap at Lowes as their house brand. He liked them both but thought purple had the best profile.

That's it! Enough!

I'm so confused now. I'm going home to my journal and will stay there! No more of this harassment. Three times the potency. Heat speeds up release of nutes.
Yea! Gods! Red nutes! Purple nutes! I'm even gonna tell my girls what you said!
Soooo Soooo There! :helpsmilie:
