Honz's - True OG - Crown Royal - White Widow - Grow Journal

Hey 420 Folks starting my first grow journal. Here's what I've got going:

edit: I live in a medical legal state in the SW US. Very dry climate. humidifier in each room keeps levels at approx 35%.

3x8 seedling/clone/mother plant room with two 8-lamp T5HO fixtures. Lights in the clone room are on 24/7.
8x8 veg/flower room with 4x 1000w air cooled hoods on HPS digital ballasts mounted on the exterior wall. Lights are controlled by a digital timer wth each ballast individually fused.

All walls are covered with 3/4" Mylar covered styrofoam. All walls are 2x4 frame with R13 fiberglass insulation. Rooms are NOT airtight. With exhaust fans running 24/7 they will always be at negative pressure.

The small room has one 4" inline fan pulling directly from carbon filter drum mounted near ceiling and pushing thru 15' of duct to outside. There are two 9" fans at the far-ends of the room, hung from the ends of the two fluorescent fixtures. They do a good job keeping the air moving but also moving the heated air directly off the fluorescent T5HO lamps. Room is cooled with a 5K BTU window AC.

The large room has one 6" inline fan hung on the wall about 3' from the exhaust outlet going outside which is about 24" above ground. It is ducted to the 'last' fixture, pulling air through the four 1000W air cooled lights which of course are all ducted together. The first fixture is ducted to a carbon filter intake drum. The total 6" duct length is approximately 15'. Two 16" osc. fans mounted on opposite walls. Room is cooled with a 12K BTU mini-split.

I received 12 True OG clones in rook wool cubes when they were approx. 2wks old. Plants were stressed and showed yellowing/brown tips/leaf curling I suspect from nutrient burn (thanks to Forum users identifying this!). I transplanted into Happy Frog soil in 16oz dixie cups. First two days the yellowing/browning/curling seemed like it wasn't getting better. Day 3 things turned around. New growth popping like crazy so after one week in dixie cups, I transplanted into 2.5QY pots (see the pic of roots after just one week in the dixie cups). HUGE difference in just 1-1/2 weeks as you can see from the photos. The last three pics were taken today, 1.5 weeks after receiving the clones. The seedlings are now also about 1.5 weeks old.

While waiting from the clones I was growing impatient and was able to obtain some seeds from Crop King. Ordered 5ea of White Widow and Crown Royal. I actually received 7 of each. Total of 11 germinated, 5CR and 6WW. Very happy with that.

Current plan: Start the OG on Advanced Nutrients (slowly like 1/4 dose) in another week when they get transplanted into 5 gal smartpots. At that time I wont have room in the small room for them so I will have no choice to fire up the big lights and move them. Light cycle will go from 24hrs to 18/6 unless someone can give me good reason not to. I suspect that they will veg in the big room for another 2-3 weeks before flipping to 12/12. Prior to flipping, I will select one mother plant and keep in the small room to take clones from.

SImultaneously, the seedlings that are 1.5 weeks old will continue to grow getting to veg state in another few weeks. I will probably keep one more mother from that group of seedlings.

As you can probably guess, my plan is to always have clones growing into veg, ready to move to the big room.

I havent worked out the full cycle on paper yet but that is the basic idea. I have an experienced helper who suggested that I stagger the flowering cycle between crops to reduce the time between harvests. Im not sure I agere with this as it will not make the most use of the large room - unless I am not 'getting it'.

I plan on plotting a 3mos schedule to figure this all out to the last detail. My reason for not doing that just yet is because I have only been gaining knowledge of growing just before I need specifics for the "next stage" I am trying to get ahead of the curve by using all the info this beautiful site has to offer AND the wonderful people that are willing to share their own experience and knowledge.

I am looking forward to any advice or constructive criticism you guys have to offer!

Update - Transplanted into 5gal smart pots three days ago. After just a week in the 2.5qt pots they were totally root bound. The roots were making spirals. The move into 5gal and they are thriving. Started 1/3 dose of notes yesterday. Plan on vegging for another 2 weeks then flipping. By that time I should be to full strength nutrients unless they show signs of burning.

Ive got them in groups of three underneath each light. 1000W set at 75% hung about 24" above plants.

Day before flipping to flower. i built and added a second screen to help support flowers. 6 plants in this scrog under two 1000w HPS. Got them 4 weeks ago as 2wk old clones that were stressed. Took the pic below thru the lens of my blue glasses. 6pm ON, 6AM OFF. Temps are 68 at night with 65% humidity, 79 "daytime" with 45-50% humidity. Grown in Happy Frog and using Advanced Nutrients.

I would love to hear some feedback!
Here is start of 5th week in flower:

Love them, color is good and they are pointing up. I like it. I have (3) crown Royal at (8) weeks right now, 95%cloudy but very little amber. The one I had in coco is further behind the soil ladies. I think they need another week and coco might even need longer.

See how the leaves are folding under... Doesn't seem normal to me but the rest of the plant appears to be normal. I can find no signs of pests so I'm not sure what it is.

Any clue? Beuller?
Don't know what to say. One of mine went all twisty on the big leaves about (1) week into the flush so at about (7) weeks into flower. I'll take a picture next time I open the vault.
