Honey, I Think I Broke My Bag Seed - Grow Journal - 2014

Good evening gentlemen,

FIM on Power Flower was a fail, so I went ahead and topped her. Checked on roots, main root has already maid to the bottom and made a round the pot and few bits were poking through drainage holes so I took her out wit soil and added a small layer of fresh soil on the bottom of the pot and put her on top of it.
Blue Cheese is coming along nicely.

Picture update tomorrow.

A small glimpse in PF roots

That pic is 7 days after re-potting. I noticed that few roots are sticking out of the drainage holes so I took her out to check on the roots and this is what I found. When taking this picture I added fresh layer of soil on the bottom of the pot and today, 24h later, I found new bits of roots sticking out again. Those roots just don't want to grow up, so I kinda gently poked them through holes horizontal again.

You could raise the pot so bottom is exposed to the air and then they will air prune and increse the root structure. Just some food for thought for you.

Thanks Skunny,

Welsh, are you happy with your 300w old model? I currently fighting with myself if I want to set up a 2nd tent for flowering and keep this as Mother and/or Veg tent after next run.

I am very happy with my old model 100x3. Very bright and my purple cheese is only 6 inch away and loving it.

From what I understand the Power Flower is fast growing and gets kinda tall. That might help explain why the roots are going crazy. I recently repotted my Power Flower and found the same thing you did. The roots were at the bottom and starting to make a circle around the pot. It's a good problem to have.

I feel like I should put the light higher a bit to increase more stretch and give more space for flowers, then when budding starts lower the light closer again.

Yeah, it's 88% Sativa, Royal Queen claims 80-120cm indoors, and 160-200cm outdoors.
We should also be able to control the height reasonably well with some training. Either way, I'm hoping we all see some nice yields. RQ claims 45-50 grams per plant indoor (450-500gr m2) But outdoor, they claim 450-500 grams per plant. Is that serious? Do we have a potential 1 pounder here?

Personally, I'd be ecstatic with 28 grams. But the possibility to double that is insane! Although I don't expect 50 grams with my CFLs :(

But either way, as long as we grown them nice and green, I think no matter how much we yield, we should be able to expect some really decent smoke. 19% THC gentlemen.

So far in my experience, it's a little more sensitive to nutes than other strains I've grown. I started feeding a 75% strength, and haven't seen any more burn. So just keep an eye out for that guys.
