Honey Cream / Chocolate Haze (RQS) - Suggestions Welcome

Well if there are seeds in there? those.
How much weeks is she going? Is it already that long ago that you switched? It's weird that she suddenly all crinkled in and with plump calyxes.. press on one to see if it's hard?
I’ll see her Saturday morning and update you.
She’s on day 25🤰 : )

Squeeze a calyx.
If there is a seed it’ll pop out.
If not it’ll just squish.
Judging by the hairs on them I think they are empty.

I’m surprised they’re not seeds 🎆
Unless this jelly eventually develops into seeds

Yeah if they were really long and foxtaily like old sativas.
The honey cream pictures online don't look like that though.
Maybe they're still gonna grow? Although she'd be more white.. it is fast flowering no? but these seems a bit too fast? 25 days.. hmm

I had small nugs and big calyxes on the Channel+ 2 grows ago, but these were filled with white hairs not some almost seed like gelly goo they just wouldn't pop open because the plant was somehow too firm.. This was definitely an overfed grow as it was using only grow pellets and the dosage was way too high for the pots. Resulting in super small nugs where she normally throws big buds. She was pretty delicious though despite the grow.

So regarding harvest
I came across all the common information available online like
- degrees of opaqueness
- percentage of amber
- Location of amber
Usually within 24 hrs of the breeders recommend days

I tried with nothing and with

- extended period of darkness
- ice bath
- cutting first then trimming
- trimming all fan leaves then cutting the next day

Could you reply with your own 3cents

About this period preferably considering soil

And anything that can help pin point the perfect point for harvest would be helpful

On another note, I left a closed container with a nutrient mix feed, for a few weeks, when I opened it, there was an overwhelming scent of vanilla! has anyone experienced something similar?

I keep it pretty simple. I wait until all of the white hairs have darkened and crinkled inward and only then will I start checking trichomes.

Clear = not ready yet as the structures are built but not yet filled with cannabinoids
Cloudy = more of an energetic, racy, "up" high
Amber = more of a body stone as more and more of the THC will have converted to CBN, the sleepy time cannabinoid

You'll have trichomes in each of the three categories so it's smoker's choice at that point. I like less racy so I go for more amber.

Breeders estimates are less reliable other than a general guideline. Plus, you'd have to know if they count from flip or first flush of pistils (vs how you count) since that can be a 10-14 day difference.
