Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

All in all the second extraction still produced an acceptable product.
Yes, definitely usable since I ran it through the coffee filters. Still a bit green but if there is any resin there its well worth using and then I still have my clean stuff too. In future, I will run the second extraction several times with different batches before I recover the alcohol but I need to know how much I am getting with the second run so I only ran this batch once. Happy it worked out; I think I have my system now.

Good work on the still! Your using a hot plate for heat?
Thanks, oldsmokey. Yes, my stove is gas and I don't want to use an open flame hence the hot plate.

I might have to copy your design I have been thinking of making some oil.
Feel free to copy it oldsmokey. Be careful; I have distilled alcohol before and used to be a stationary engineer (boiler man) so I feel competent. Please for your own sake take all precautions. I only take responsibility for myself.

Experiments are very valuable
For sure. I also find them interesting and fun to see if my predictions are right. Retiring recently and with lockdown, I need some entertainment and experiments are good for that. So does having a head full of tincture at night, lol. :) I think I would be going a little nuts by now without that.

I have a syringe full of Rick Simpson oil. I put it under my tongue and the high is more like smoking flowers. It’s extremely potent.
No doubt. For cancer patients, they recommend a gram a day of that stuff, they must be totally wasted. This tincture does the job nicely for me in a different league from oil infusions; just not the same, much smoother calmer.

I understand the dangers involved. It's just I am thinking of how much iso(money) just went up in to the air through the years such a waste. What do you think of using ice to condense the alcohol instead of water? Could just have a drain at the bottom for the water to drain into the sink. Then just top off with ice as needed.

Yes, it broke my heart letting all that good drinking ethanol evaporate too. You could use ice but I found the condenser didn't heat up too fast. I may have been able to distill 16 ounces without adding cool water but I was just being cautious.
