Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

Sauga recommended it to me and I think Shed uses it too. Being a one part system being so easy and convenient even if I lose a little quantity I can live with that. They do have boosters and such but I am going with just the Mega Crop alone. I am thinking of doing a comparison someday with just the mega crop for one cutting and then all the additives and boosters with another but being restricted to four plants it makes it difficult to experiment much.

They recently changed their formula and I’m about to run out of the old stuff so I hope the new stuff works as well. I should have been smart like Sauga and bought a big bag because he has a lifetime supply of the old stuff. In this pic you can see the difference between the old and new; seems like a completely different formula.

I have been using the MC2.0 and haven’t had any problems with it! I love the simplicity and its good to know your not pHing still !

Thanks, Dutch. It is really good to know the MC 2.0 is good stuff. :high-five: I admit I found pHing a real pain in the butt so the fact it doesn't seem necessary I am pretty happy about.

Right around where you are now, at 6.5g/gal.

Oh, ok. Good to know. Maybe I will just leave it there then. Have to ponder on that. Thanks.

If I'm running tap water, and I mix in my MC to that, it brings my pH down to 6.3, so I never have to adjust it. If I use rain water, it brings it down to around 5.5. A little too low for me to play around so I adjust it up to 6.3. It works for me.

Obviously, it is working and ya can't argue with that. :high-five:

I'm not using ProMix though Homer, and my soil is hotter, so you may be able to go higher. If after a feeding or two at 6.5g/gal and things look OK bump it up 10% and repeat. Finding that point of overfeeding with MC is key imho.

Okay Sauga, will do. I appreciate the info because I know you did a lot of pushing but I didn’t realize how key you thought it was. After your prodigious Pineapple plants, I am all ears for your feeding advice! :thumb:

With the megacrop I have to be more careful when making changes to feed amounts with the soil mix I use. There's at least one feeding more (4 days approx) before I notice the previous feedings changes. By then I've over fed her again.
Interesting. I'll watch out for that!
I think Shed uses it too.
I do, the 2.0 stuff.
I'd want Calcium as a supplement for flowering period.
The new version has 5.6% Ca and 2.3% Mg.

I wonder if I should have bumped my Candidas above 6.0 now!

My second seed came up yesterday so now I have both my Dinamed and Critical successfully germinated.

I made some infused olive oil of my latest harvest of both Cannatonic and Yummy. I made a new squeezing press in my quest to get as much oil recovered as possible. I took some hardwood and attached some pins so the plates don’t slide around like they tend to and added some Teflon sheeting so the oil doesn’t soak into the wood. Using this system I got pretty close to my 6 ounces back.

I personally like to know where I am sitting with the plants and the MC they are given. In otherwords, if I don't see any tip burn I'm not sure how much more they want. If I'm giving 6.5g/gal and the plant looks healthy, I could be a gram less of food for building up the plant for good bud production.
Keep in mind that window is probably quite small if the plants are looking good. If no defs than you are right on track, so adding in 10% amounts will not hurt the plant by mistakenly overfeeding in one shot.
I got lazy on my last overfeed. The system is only as good as you make it. I had four plants, all taking different amounts of nutes and instead of making separate buckets they all got what the girl in flower was getting. Just stupid lazy and I kick myself for it.
However, I learned right away where I needed to be on the next feeding and the girls have bounced back nice.

On my WW's I had a warning signs I was getting close to overfeeding by the color of the tips. They went darker green before the rest of the leaf. The PE I just ran did not show the same characteristics, so even though GLN says look for color changes in the leaves I think it's strain specific... some will, some wont.

I fed the Candidas this morning at 6.2g and gave them two gallons each. Probably the last feeding before the chop on Saturday unless they're really thirsty! I should probably spend more time looking at the leaf tips, but I think that growing in the sun makes the leaves respond differently than under lights. I get burned tips on every plant at almost every level of feeding.

Thanks, Penny. It works ok but it is a messy process, lol.
I'm sending you all my mash for squeezing!

Good info guys. I think I will give them 6.5g/gal for another few feedings then up it to 7g/gal and see what happens. I am going to do my increases over long periods so I am sure where I stand.

I would say yes DeanWest.. my days of checking pH are over. My plants were healthier when I stopped adjusting but then again I totally screwed up because of a faulty pH meter. Always blame the equipment, lol. But seriously not checking the pH worked out great for me and now it is a hassle eliminated.
And you have no problems what do ever ?? Do you know the ph of your water ? Are you using to ? What’s the trick I let mine sit with airstone for 24 hrs before watering but I just keep the 5 g pale of water full and just ph before use something’s it’s good but I let it go from 6.5-6.8 ish I use drops. But I can’t wait to see this ph less grow

I would say that my current plants that are probably now about three weeks into budding are the healthiest crop I have had and I have not adjusted any pH their whole lives and just use water tap with a pH of 7.55 and alkalinity of 83 mg/L and hardness of 106 mg/litre. My water also has 29.5 mg/L calcium and 7.76 mg/L of magnesium naturally. I have 4-1 gallon containers and I usually use one per day so my water sits usually four days with the container open and that is all I do other than adding my nutes to it.

Here is my city water report if you would like to check it out. Water Quality Reports - Welland - Niagara Region, Ontario

@InTheShed posted a thread of information he acquired from some rep from I think one of the soil companies and he was told that pH of your water was almost meaningless and that the alkalinity of your water and the soil mix you have and the type of nutes you use really determines your ultimate pH much more than what your water is adjusted to so I tried not adjusting and things got better but bear in mind I’m just lucky because my three balance out okay but I have a sneaking suspicion most peoples would if they didn’t adjust the pH of their water.
