Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

Homer...I think it looks good and will be just fine. Nice work.
Thank you cr8grow. Very kind and encouraging of you in my time of self-doubt.

During my grow I ramped up to 6.5, using the bottom leaves to decide when to increase. When they started to get too deep a green, I took it back down in two stages to 5.5. That seemed to be the sweet spot for those plants to finish. I also had damage at the top of the plant due to overfeeding, and possibly the fans. I did notice that on the ramp up, at about 5.0 the plant exhibited a cal/mag deficiency. Adding 1ml per 10-15 gm MC of CALiMAGic stopped the spread of the symptoms.

I suspect that there is quite a wide range of cal/mag that the plants can thrive in. I also suspect that many growers over compensate for any cal/mag deficiency. Even when I ran the GH Flora Trio, I was running with less cal/mag than was recommended by many, yet I had my largest yield with that.

Since I am already up to 4.5 g per gallon MC and that is the maximum suggested for long-term vegging, and I'm not really long term yet, and considering this post it does make me think I would be better off to add a moderate amount of calmag instead of upping the MC and Penny also agrees so I will try that. Thanks, Old Salt.

I watered my Gorilla Glue today giving it the same 4.5 g/gallon MC in addition to 4 mL of calmag. This is the minimum recommended dosage as the maximum dosage for a healthy plant would be 1.5 times that and for a deficient plant to 2 to 2.5 that dosage so that was a pretty conservative amount.

It's pretty shocking to see how much this one leave has deteriorated over just 24 hours. If the 4 mL of calmag doesn't solve the problem I think I will increase my MC to 5 g per gallon and up the MC another 50% next watering. I have never had a plant's leaves deteriorate this quickly but they say it is a heavy feeder so I think I just have to keep pouring on the nutrients especially since I don't have any tip burn whatsoever.

And those leaves won’t recover so watch for recovery in the newer leaves.

Thanks, Penny; I will watch the newer leaves. I didn't realize how rapidly it was deteriorating till after I fed it otherwise I probably would have given it a little more MC and calmag. This is the exact same kind of damage I get every time so whatever the problem is at least it's consistent and I think you are right about the Mega Light being the culprit for the deficiency. If nothing else at least I am pretty sure now it is a deficiency and not a lockout.

I’m sure it’s the more intense lighting.
You have me convinced also because this is the first time I have had this problem in veg and the first time I have used the more intense light in veg instead of just after switching to flower mode.

Don't forget that you are supplementing the cal/mag already in Mega Crop. You don't need the full amount recommended on the cal/mag bottle. This is why the amounts I used are so low, and why I tied the amount of cal/mag to the weight of the Mega Crop used. For example, to 5 US gal of water I add 30gm of Mega Crop to get 6gm / gal. Since I found 1ml CALiMAGic per 10 - 15 gm Mega Crop worked well, I added 2-3 ml CALiMAGic for the five gallon batch.

I did use the minimum recommended amount because of your earlier warnings but yes I didn't really take into account how much calmag there already is in MC. Hopefully, I didn't overdo it because like I said they say with deficient plants I could have added 2 1/2 times as much and mine are definitely deficient but I appreciate your warnings because I don't want to overshoot and get into a lockout situation. D'oh!

I’m sure it’s obvious to everyone I am no Einstein but I’m not a complete moron either because I am usually successful at most things I attempt in life but I’m getting to the point where I’m ready to give up growing cannabis. This is supposed to be a fun hobby but instead ever since that God damn P 98 plant this hobby has turned into mostly a constant source of frustration.

People say that the plant tells you what it needs but that is total BS. All the plant tells you is that it isn’t happy with what it is getting not what it needs and I am really sick to death of every grow my plants slowly getting sicker and sicker and everything I try doesn’t help them.

My Gorilla Glue is looking sicker by the day and it hasn’t grown at all in about two weeks and from the look of it I am pretty sure it is going to die long before it flowers. Judging by the dampness of the soil I don’t even think it’s taking up water anymore and it’s looking pretty wilty and the leaves are still degrading.

Besides I only go through about an eighth of an ounce a week so I have enough weed to last me about a decade. Not looking for any advice just as usual venting.

Perfect plants are a dream. I'll gladly accept what they bring to the harvest, with the care I provide. Heck, it's not like I have a choice.
Hang in there Homer, not every plant is a winner. Do you’re best with here and she’ll produce. She doesn’t look like she’s dying to me.
Thanks a lot, guys. Other issues I am dealing with besides my plants got to me but I'll be okay; I always am eventually.

Yes, they are Penny. I hope yur right. You have an admirable perspective.
