Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

Because of my editing program problems, I am not going to make a vid outlining minimalist system using my P 98, 1:20 grow which in hindsight is probably best because the P-98 was such a dismal disappointment so here is the raw footage if anyone would like to have a gander. The P-98 is on the right throughout the vid. I am going to make a video of my next generation which will probably be a Bruce Banner and I'll outline my minimalist system with that. I am also going to get some better backgrounds for my next video.

By the way partly because I didn't like the way it disturbed the leaves in the video and because I wanted to see if it was necessary, on this grow I didn't use any fans which I figured was about one-third of my electricity costs and I haven't used them on my Gorilla Glue either and I don't notice any difference. So my conclusion is fans are unnecessary and a real pain to keep going because they tend to wear out and I really like having a silent grow. My MegaLight doesn't have any fans so now my grow room is totally quiet all the time which having them in the next room is pretty sweet.

Might I make a suggestion for the next time lapse? Why not go 24/0 on your seedling and then you will have no interruptions in your video and your seedling will be boosted. At least for the first month above ground, then go 18-20 hours. If your doing that already, then disregard my suggestion.

Morning Homer . Hope you and yours are doing fine. I have been following along with your grows. I do like the minimalist ideas. To bad for the P98 sure turned out sad looking . such a let down when you are looking for great things. Real liked the slo/mo, something that may occupy some of my time when retirement comes around. You do have to show me the trick to that snap of a finger harvest, man it takes me hours and a literal pain in the back. lol :peace: :ganjamon:

Thank you, bluenoserjoe; hope you and yours are doing fine also. I don't know if you've read but I also eliminated fans in my last grow and a half without any adverse effects so I'm really stripping down my minimalist system. All I really use is a light, ProMix, Megacrop, and the fabric pot and I really haven't sacrificed in quality. I wish that harvest was just a snap of the fingers, LOL. My 1:20 was a very sticky resin plant but with lots of small buds so I think it took three or four hours to trim.

Homer. The time lapse was cool and not too long like some. Now I want to see one of just a main bud from first pistils to full ripe...thats the part of the grow where its hard to tell the difference some days as you patiently wait for harvest.

Thank you, cr8grow. It definitely takes patience for them to get ripe especially when the jars are getting empty, LOL.

Great Vid Homer, I could see why you were so dissapointed, that plant looked and grew like it was on steroids. My thinking was that if this plant would have been in a 10 gallon pot it would have grown into a monster, spent all its energy on maintaining what it grew and ignored the need to grow buds. Very interesting, I really like the vigor of that plant. Keep up the good work, you will get your graphic artist ticket before you know it. Lol

Thanks, BudShark. It was disappointing that the star of the show ended up being such a dud but I have gotten over it. Hopefully, my next plant I use in a time-lapse is a better performer; I am thinking I will do a Dr. Seeds Bruce Banner. I'm working hard for that graphic artist ticket, LOL.

Next round should be much better.

Yes, with a 10 – gallon and Dr. seeds I am hoping for a much better performance.:headbanger:

Thank you, Baron. That is a good idea; I have to cut out the watering session but that's only every few days in the beginning so it does make sense to go 24/0. That camera was brand-new to me also so I was kind of just learning as I went so hopefully the next vid should be a little better quality.

Thanks for watching all!:thanks: Hope everyone is doing well.

Are you running autos?
Nope, I have never grown autos and I have never really wanted to because I like the idea I can get my plants as big as I want before flower and I can take cuttings if I like.

Ok I’d give them a dark period, but that’s just me.
Do you mean to give the non-autos I grow a dark period before flipping? I have heard people do that but wasn't sure it made much difference?

They burn energy at night and make energy during the day.
Sorry Penny, I misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about giving them a couple day dark period when I flip them. I have been giving my plants 18/6 in bud and 12/12 in flower. I have never given my plants 24 hours of light even though I know some people do it just seems unnatural for the plant to me.

The Baron suggested 24 just in the first while for video recording the seedling as it breaks ground but if I did that it would only be for the first couple weeks. But I would actually rather have a better plant than a better video so I probably won’t do it after your suggestion.

I don’t care for autos either.
I didn't even know they existed till I started growing again last year so they seem kind of strange to me.

I thought you might get a kick out of a couple of these stickers:

That is pretty cool Old Salt but not sure how I feel about them using me and my son's likenesses, lol.

Here we go again! It may look at first glance like my Gorilla Glue is thriving but closer examination tells a frustrating different story.

The last week I have been a little worried about it because it seems like it hasn't grown at all since my last watering three days ago and as you can see in this closer photo my leaves seem to be bending inward a little along their length like they are folding.

I noticed yesterday that some leaves seem to be yellowing in some areas also and today the same old leaf damage I always get is starting but this time in veg instead of about a month into flower like usual.

I was pretty quick to get this plant up to 4 g per gallon MC because it didn't have a hint of burned tips and still doesn't and also because the Dr. Seeds website says that this strain is a heavy feeder. For those reasons I thought it might be a wise idea to take it up to 4.5 g per gallon or the maximum Green leaf recommends in veg.

I am right back where I have been in almost every MC grow. I have leaf damage and I have no idea whether I need more or less MC. The fact that going to 4 to 4.5 g per gallon caused this plant to go from a healthy plant to one that I know from experience will rapidly deteriorate to me makes this nutrient endlessly frustrating. That is only a 12 1/2% difference and also the fact that deficiencies look exactly like lockouts make it impossible to know whether I need more or less.

Plus this plant does not have a hint of burned tips which would according to the Greenleaf site dictate that it needs more MC. My suspicion is though since it was okay at 4 g per gallon it probably needs less but there really is no way to know. For these reasons, I am seriously considering changing nutrients.

The greenness of the plant really can't be illustrated accurately in photos because depending on the exposure it can look too green or not green enough but this plant looks pretty good as far as Green also so that doesn't tell me really anything. A nice healthy green and no burned tips would tell me I need more but the fact it was okay at 4 g per gallon tells me it needs less so, as usual, I don't know what to do but I think I'm going down to four.

On a more positive note since the world is shut down and I need things to do it looks like I'm going to get my computer upgraded next week so I can continue my media projects. Hope everyone is well.

The leaf in the last image seems to show the very start of a cal/mag deficiency. I'd increase the MC to 5.0, or if you're not comfortable with that, add some cal/mag.
