HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese - Herijuana Jack 33

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Thanks again HMG! I appreciate it very much! :)

Speaking of Blue Cheese...

I'm working on getting another pack of Blue Cheese seeds directly from Medicinal Organic Nursery for another seed grow starting in March 2012. My proposal is to create a new grow journal on here dedicated to just their excellent Blue Cheese strain if they provide me with a fresh batch of seeds. :thumb:

While I have managed to clone the original Blue Cheese plant, I wouldn't mind having some new seed stock, and in particular, a Blue Cheese male to cross with my BBK or Purple Urkle females!

BC with PU sounds delightful.

MON has a couple of strains coming out that I would like to try, wonder if they have anything up coming north.

Good question! If their other strains are anything like their BC, it would be well worth the effort to track down a source. I don't think that MON sells direct to patients as a general rule, but it appears that they will make an exception once in awhile if like me, you have no dealers close by.

What were the other strains you were looking at? Just curious.

Cheers. :)

There are some Co-ops about 4 hours away none real close.

Starting to see some color changes in the pistils. Overall I'm impressed with the way this grow has gone so far. Thank you to all who have supported me along this journey.

HMG,

Great journal, beautiful plants...wow they sure are on the home stretch now, I agree. Can't wait to see the finish. Isn't this fun? :yahoo:

HMG looking really good. down the home stretch now.

Getting close, and thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Sqwheels, I can't wait to see the finish either.

Man! That BC is looking awesome! Won't be long now! :thumb:

Not to much longer, at least for the BC. Not sure about the HJ33

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Not familiar with the HJ33 so I can't offer any input there.

I do know enough about BC to say that you should be prepared for some scissor gumming trim sessions in your future! :thumb:

Make sure you have your little shot glass of rubbing alcohol handy for dipping your cutters in every few minutes, cause you are definitely going to need it!! :laughtwo:

I've grown a lot of resin heavy bud in my time, but BC has got to be one of the stickiest there is! Definitely a nice problem to have, provided that you are not competeting for the fastest bud trimmer in the west! You'll loose if BC is the bud you have to trim! :laughtwo:

Looking forward to your smoke report! ;)

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Hey HMG!

A lot of that could just be normal yellowing as the plant starts to shutdown fan leaves during flowering. I'd at least trim off all those yellow leaves cause they ain't coming back anyway. That will give the buds more light. Is it primarily the bottom fan leaves that are looking like this?

You named off a lot of different stuff in that last feed. Could possibly be a bit too much for the plant to deal with and you are seeing some nute burn. Since I am seeing the leaf tips curling under, that usually indicates overwatering.

I'd give it a few days to dry out and see what your flush did. You might want to give it a flush with Clearex next if you continue to see more yellowing after you trim off the yellow leaves you have right now. I posted a recipe for making your own Clearex in my journal HERE if you don't already have some on hand.

Also, if you have an IN SOIL pH meter that might be worth checking cause you can't always tell what your soil pH actually is just by testing the runoff.

I use one of THESE for spot checking my various pots. I checked this against my two PH-200 digital ph meters and it was surprisingly close to the same reading which was impressive for something that sells for less than $10.00! I just ordered another one today so I can have one handy in the house for my indoor vegging plants.

Thanks for checking in Goose. I do not think that they get overwatered, but I will see if I can let them dry out a little more. I will see if I can locate a soil PH tester some where around here.

HJ33 looking a little better after her flush yesterday. I removed most of the damaged leaves and appears to have minimal new damage.

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Very good! I think the buds would benefit from some thinning of those remaining yellowing fan leaves. The buds inside the canopy look nice and green, so I will stick to my original hunch that this is normal for that strain and it is simply trying to open up the canopy for the buds to get more light.

All Cannabis does this at some point during flowering. It would be more abnormal if the fan leaves stayed solid green and didn't yellow and dry up.

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Good stuff Goldengoose. Thanks.

@HMG a soil pH meter is a must. pH is one of the most important aspects of nutrient availability in any growing medium and must not be overlooked.
Your plants are looking really good to me. Should be some really good smoke once it finishes. How much time are you estimating before those strains are finished?

They will make some nice bud porn once they are a little closer to finishing and some of the yellow fans are trimmed back :)

I was not sure if it was normal or not, because it happened so quick. The leaves that are yellow don't require much effort to come off.

I will track down a soil PH tested tomorrow.

I'm guessing about three more weeks or so. I am coming up on the end of week 5 so it shouldn't be to much longer. :thumb:

So maybe I jumped the gun and thought there was more of a problem than what is really there?

Thank you guys for the help I really appreciate it I was starting to worry. If you guys ever make it up to the PNW look me up. :Namaste:

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

One other thing BPN would you suggest going about three quarter strength nutes till I go for a final flush?

Re: HMG's Hempy Grow 2011 Blue Cheese, Herijuana Jack 33

Sorry to chime in late on those pics brother, but it looked like a combo of slight burn, AND some sort of lockout, in either case, good call on the flush buddy. I had something identical 2 grows ago, and the ol' "Stickem in the kitchen sink" trick worked wonders for me. Also, are you seeing any gnats?....
