HID Grow - Revenge of the Kittens

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

got my wonder woman seeds today, super stoked to start growing them.

Also saw today that 2 more of the clones have roots and need planted.. That's 5/6 that have roots.

second time cloning and raised my 50% success rate to 83%. Let's hope this last one pops roots soon so I can be 100%

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

thanks bro. I got my dirt over the weekend and got all the clones in their new homes. I half harvested one of the plants leaving only the cola for a couple days, I'm just trying it out to see if its beneficial at all.

Soaked one of the wonder woman beans and it had cracked within 24 hours. Checked on it this morning and it's cracked but isn't really growing a root yet, so I put it on the top of my T5 to help keep it warm. I've seen cold water and seeds delay the process a lot. I just hope the bean didn't get too shocked from the colder water and is dead. When I get home, I hope to drop it in the dirt and have 4 seeds left over.

I topped 2 of the clones also

The plan for now:

Harvest my 3 kushberries to make some room for the 2 kushberry moms I have in veg right now. Not enough room to keep them there, and I have too much other stuff going on, so they're getting flowered. I'm curious to see how the topped plant ends up growing... Not to mention the amount of nodes and bud sites on these things from them being topped and grown out a while are insane. Once those 2 are in the bloom box, It gives me space to drop the light down on the 5 clones and 1 wonder woman seedling.

I plan on cloning the kushberry again, depends on which plant grows the quickest. I plan on taking around 4 clones of it to keep it going, and then taking 4-6 clones off the wonder woman. I'm trying to get moving on a different style of growing, keeping the plants short, and stuffing more of them in the space I have. I figure it will open up more light to more buds and I'll get a better finished product when all is done.

We'll see how it goes but for now that's what's going on.

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

did a mini harvest last night. Chopped down the rest of the one plant I've been picking on, and found the main cola had a spot of bud rot. I got to it early and only lost about 1/4oz off the main cola. This thing is so dense. I definitely need a dehumidifier before next summer so this doesn't happen again. Otherwise, I got a lot of nice rock hard buds from it. I chopped 6 branches off another plant and trimmed them all up. The smell is amazing and the buds are also rock hard and just swollen with resin. I can't wait till this stuff is cured.

I'll be chopping the rest down pretty soon as I get some time. My bloom box opened up a bit so I stuffed the 2 kushberry momma's I had under the T5 in there. It's looking like I'm gonna transplant them along with the other flowering ladies, I think they're telling me they want more space. I got a lot of space opened up in my veg area now so I dropped the lights on the newly rooted clones and just waiting for them to take off. I have 5 in there I'll give a month veg time, along with the new wonder woman fem I just planted.

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

I was sitting here reading your grow posts, while being high as hell off of some of my own HG... and i wondered... where in PA are you? anywhere near monroeville?

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

haven't posted much of an update but i chopped the 3 kushberries and have been enjoying their smoke very much.

I transplanted all 6 that were in the bloom box and they're doing much better. The clones are coming up well, but I'm having some issues with my seeds. The first one cracked and showed a short root then stopped, so I planted it and over the week it has slowly opened but hasn't really done much of anything. I germed the best looking seed and it cracked and did the same thing, so I planted it and I'm hoping it comes up.. I really hope I get some better luck with these seeds as it's my first seed purchase. I know it isn't me as I've never had an issue germinating seeds.

Oh well, I didn't really weight everything, but there are some nice heavy thick nugs in this bunch. I shot a few pics of the 2 colas I managed to salvage since the 3rd had a minor case of bud rot.

Got a new blunt rolling tray lol

Re: CriMson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

well a little update on the garden.. The wonder woman seed i dropped that was lagging has finally shown its first set of leaves, so I think it will hang in there. Thinking that one was junk I planted another that has come up too, so I will have to separate them pretty soon. I'm excited though as now I have 2 wonder women to use as clone givers. More of a chance for stability.

The 5 kushberry clones i have in veg are doing well. They're all topped now and growing into a nice strong Y shape. I'm digging it.

The other 2 kushberry clones in bloom are already budding up. I'm going to try to not burn them with tiger bloom this time lol. Speaking of which, I smoked some of the mom these clones came from yesterday and man, I'm impressed. The smoke is the smoothest smoke I've ever had, and thats without a cure. The buds are rock hard, they make a decent thud sound when dropped on the table. The calyxes just crumble when you break up and split into little balls that then crumble in your hands. The smell is intensely citrus and the taste is the same. I just can't get over how smooth it is. This plant had the most trichs by far, and it tells in the smoke. You get very glazed over, heavy indica, but doesn't keep you down. Keeps you high for a long time. I smoked a blunt of it on lunch, and I'm still feeling about a 3 just 4 hours later.

I'm happy to have a lot more of this coming down the road. It wasn't too big of a yielder, but the bud weight and density and smoke make up for it, plus if i don't burn it I'm sure I'll yield more with the multiple tops.

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

little update action.. Getting closer to harvesting the 2 bagseeds, they're getting pretty frosty and bulking up. I would say another 2 weeks for sure, but I'm hoping they don't go that long. I'm down to my last 1/8th so I need a reup pretty soon lol.

The other 2 bagseeds are doing well, probably another 2 weeks behind the others.

The 2 kushberries in bloom are doing great. I noticed with this strain they show N def's early in bloom and the tiger bloom isn't enough to counter this, so I was mixing a very small amount of my veg nutes in with the bloom for an N boost. Not sure if it's the best idea, but they seem to be liking it so far. The yellowing stopped and they are already budding up much better than their mom who i just flowered out. Fortunately all of my clones are from the best product. I smoked both phenos last night, and the smaller one with the rock hard dense nugs smokes by far the best. The other stuff smells, looks, and tastes better, but it doesn't have near the same high as the cloned pheno. Me and the lady ripped a bong of it the last few nights in a row, and it's wonderful. It gives you an intense head numbing indica high that is great for medical use. No wonder, this is the plant that had so many trichs that they were coating the nearby fan leaves too. So happy I cloned it, as I have 5 more in veg, 2 in flower, and I'm about to take more clones off the vegged ones.

The multiple topped clone is blooming nice and forming 6 tops right now.. Pretty intense. It's my first topping experience so I'm excited to see the outcome. I have topped all the new clones just once, and since topped so early, they are growing in a Y formation.. It looks awesome, I'll have to snap some pics.

2 of the clones are hitting 11" tall so I need to throw them in bloom pretty soon.. Just waiting to remove those 2 bagseeds that are blooming, then I can transplant and throw em in.

Good stuff in my garden, the perpetual thing is just now starting to pay off as my next harvest is only a month from my last.

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

Last night was eventful. Finished trimming up the 2nd plant and have 2 plants drying now which made some room in the bloom box.

Transplanted 2 topped clones from 1 gal pots into 3 gal pots and threw into bloom.
Transplanted 3 topped clones from very small containers into 1 gal pots.
Transplanted 2 Wonder Woman beans into their own small containers and dropped the light on them.

The bloom box is looking good, I got rid of the 2 tallest plants so I'm able to bump the light down about 8". I can already tell my ladies are loving the extra light. Hoping to see some super fat ones out of this group. The multi topped clone that's blooming is doing really well. There are about 6 tops forming and getting packed with fat sticky buds. I will take some pics pretty soon. They're almost a month into it.

Sitting low for a few weeks until the next chop. Have 2 more bagseeds almost ready to come down, and I need to take some new clones soon. Might wait until I move a couple more into bloom as its pretty packed under the T5 right now.

Good stuff as always. Each plant gets better and better so I can't complain.

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

yeah man I've heard nothing but great things about it. It's supposed to be very easy to clone and great for beginners so I'm hoping it's a fairly stress free run. Plus the yield is supposed to be insane, so that's a plus at the rate I've been smoking lol. I chop down a plant and smoke it all in a couple weeks.. But thats why we grow right? haha

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

got a new phone and played with the cam a bit on it and snapped some updated pics of the garden.

Heres the flower room. The 2 plants that are on the sides are just bagseed, the 2 in front are second gen clones about a month into bloom, and the 2 directly under the light are 3rd gen clones about 2 weeks in bloom.

Veg room. Everything here are 3rd gen kushberry clones except the 2 small seedlings, those are my Wonder Woman beans. They're growing fast, I need to put them in 1 gals and take some clones off the whole batch because the one is about ready for bloom. It will probably get thrown in a 3 gal and bloomed this weekend. Just need to make some room for it.

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

thanks for the help you give me too man, it was your cloning advice that got me started and now I'm blooming 5 clones and have another 9 on the way.

The wonder woman seeds are doing awesome, they're growing nice and fast with tight nodes. I just took 2 clones off one yesterday and threw them both in 1 gal pots. Can't wait to start blooming them. I want to take another 4-6 clones off them first though.

So total plant count is veg: 2 kushberry clones, 2 wonder woman fem. 7 kushberry clones and 2 wonder woman clones

Bloom: 5 kushberry clones.

Garden is looking nice right now, and I've been smoking so good lately I can't complain about anything in life. I feel good I get to help others out too with free herb who normally don't get to experience smoking like I do.

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

hell yeah, its a great day today. Got some good news on 2 different ends..

First of all, my wonder woman clones are finally showing roots, along with a couple kushberries. It's been 3 weeks, and I think the temps are a bit too cool so it made it take longer, but I'm just glad they rooted.

Secondly, just got a new job offer which includes a $15,000/yr raise. Super stoked about that. 335i here I come!

Re: Crimson's HID Grow- Revenge of the Kittens

I need to start a new journal, this ones just outdated and getting kind of long. I just don't have time to update as often as I would like, and without the bud porn, it's hard to keep people interested when there are so many other awesome grows on the boards.

But this helps me keep track of when clones are taken, plants are put in bloom, etc.

So this weekend I took 5 kushberry clones and 5 wonder woman clones.
Harvested 2 kushberries
put 2 kushberries in bloom @ 16"
planted 2 wonder woman clones
planted 1 kushberry clones

still have 2 wonder woman clones waiting for roots, along with 4 kushberries waiting on roots.

I have about 3 weeks left on the last kushberry in bloom, I can't wait until its out of there so I can put the 2 18" wonder womans in there lol. Never flowered this strain yet, so I'm anxious to get them in there.. I might just try to make room. I think a larger reflector is needed, or another 600w light haha. My box is begging for an extra light, it will fit and light it up perfectly.

Total plant count:
Veg: (4) Wonder Woman, (1) Kushberry
Flower: (3) Kushberry
Cuttings: (5) Wonder Woman, (5) Kushberry

Garden is pretty full right now, but I had to take a ton of clones to combat the 3 week root time I'm battling with from the temps being a bit too low. Once i get a heat mat for it, and some better rooting hormone, I hope to get that down to a week.
