Herbie's Beans - Black Widow And Super Skunk

@Grand Daddy Black GOOD advice, Im on it 👍! A good Indica,on a Rice paper with some fresh pressed indica rosin sounds like a GREAT PLAN
Im wrapped a little tight!!
Not for much longer! :Rasta:
As far as jumping from any trees, Im afraid of heights , although i did paint the Thunder Hawk roller coaster @ Michigan Adventures back in 2014
Wearing "Depends" I presume! 😁

I didn't think I was going to need depends but I unexpectedly had to clean myself after my buddy decided to strike one up while we were up there and then drive around, then on top of it he's an iron worker so he HAS to see how high the lift can go, my buddy Dave is a CRAZY BASTARD!!

Funny thing is i never seen any dancing mice or Goofy dogs while we were there But i did meet the maintenance crew and learned some things about roller coasters Needless to say i wont ride them anymore and the last coaster i was on was @ cedar point, the Managa back in the 90's doing orange and purple microdots burning on the trams going across the park to tge Demon drop got ALOT of funny Looks that trip!😁😎

By the way the @Grand Daddy Black the lift went 140' fully extended up🤣🤣🤣

I can't see any immediate need for the new light given the stage of growth of those cuties. I'm sure Taddd is on it!
I see you gave Tadd a "D" for customer service! 🙂

True that, Hes on it , good ppl to work with! Im just excited about it especially when its paid for And I just wanted it set up ,then hands off! Other than scoping and pruning till harvest I have alot of stuff to do around here i got 2 walls to build and some doors and windows too put in been waiting for the weather to break here

And they will stretch in the first 2 weeks of flower anyways so that's the other reason I use a net
Good Day, Seaofgreen, I also use 2 nets, first to keep height of plant down and weave the plant horizontally, I sometimes must super crop, some strains are too vertically minded. Second to support the buds and contain the stretch. Just flipped mine, took 2 months to fill the 5 x 5 tent in veg. I topped mine several times starting at a very young age. Sorry to hear about your volunteer! Cant wait to hear you complain about the smell of the Island skunk. Lol

Slow but sure things are going well so far
Expecting some new beans here in a couple days 3 freebies from Brandon Hopefully i get some viable one's and don't have to waste time finding out otherwise, been some bad luck on beans around here lately!
I had a couple the other day didn't start a Blueberry Cheese and a pineapple express They were old so i really wasn't surprised ,
I did 4 and 2 started and 2 didn't Been awhile since that's happened!
@Grand Daddy Black you aren't the only 1 who got bad beans my friend i think that the breeders are getting laxidasicle on QC and or maybe i should store them a little better they get kinda cold in my drawer down in the basement , but ive stored them that way for a long time np's but it happens I guess, lets just hope not to often like what alot of folks on here have been going through .
Just like You all,I hate to waste time and money, which time IS MONEY!✌️

I only grow once a year so when I want to kick off and then find myself losing time because seeds won't sprout it's a bit of a pisser. At the same time I don't want to kick off more than I need and waste them either.

I wanted to share some of the important lessons I've learned from Suzanne Wainwright over the years.

It always starts with proper identification. Don't trust google images or social media for an accurate identification. I can't tell you how many times I've had folks have reached out with photos of springtails or rove beetles or orbatid mites, insects that are not damaging your crop and would not require spraying.

Scouting is mandatory. Having yellow monitoring cards and a good scouting schedule is crucial for finding insects before they get out of hand. Also taking notes and tracking pest pressure is a helpful part of data collection.

Cleanliness is Godliness. This goes without saying and is the foundation of any IPM Program.

Treat in veg with beneficial insects, not flower. If you can get your insects working for you when the plants are smaller, not only can you get by with less insects, but you'll be much less likely to have an issue in flower. Many growers will have a standard "go to" order of nematodes and predatory mites that they will utilize as preventative maintenance. That's not to say you can't use beneficials in flower but it can be a lot more expensive and harder to apply.

Bugs can't develop a resistance to other bugs. Unlike chemical pesticides, pests cannot develop a resistance to being eaten, this is one reason why using beneficial insects is such a great way of managing pests. They also can reach places that a spray might miss, and they will work 24/7 to keep your room clean.

Along the lines of pesticide resistance, always spray to the label rate. You might think, "I'll just go light and use less pesticide, that will be eco-friendly," but really what you're doing is allowing some insects to survive and develop a resistance to that pesticide.

There's a lot more, but I hope this gives you some good ideas for your IPM program!

Good rules to follow, and the plants are carrying on nicely!

I have a watering question: since you're in a planting bed/trough - which will allow the roots to spread out well beyond what would be a normal pot size - do you add water rings where the plants aren't as they grow? It would seem that to make use of all the soil in there you would want to be able to soak the entire thing at some point.
