jungle patrol got some new stuff..
new fancy brand name filter
the thing is about a third smaller than the first one and is of different construction. i'm gonna bake up the old one as a back up to be safe. little unsure about this one.
i tripled my lighting capacity..
600 watt actual draw 12 cob citizen clu048 1212's, a mix of 3000K and 3500K
at 10% it has the same intensity as the last rig at 90% lol
this is 10%, lowest it goes
can see the color the 3000K pots bring. ran a dry test and will have to run this one stepped down. even with uv glasses it hurt to look in to the room with the thing up past 50%.
at 75% we ran the heat up to 30c (86f) in a half hour with the fans full on and no plants. so no bueno. probably gonna start at the 60% level and see what happens. my little fan crapped out as well on the test lol. so got two to replace it.
hope it works out. got some test plants going in a day or so.

I was thinking the same thing bluter. I have my home, the neighbors have become fast friends, I know what I want to write, and all the little pieces of my life have fallen into place.
I’ll be around more and more as we go on. I still have things in flux, but I’m really missing the threads, so I’ll be shifting the focus back to 420 while the rest shifts out.
I’m feeling out of touch.

I know a lot of you using MegaCrop, they released another new formula. Says:
well great.
just got the stuff yesterday. 10kg bag as that was all that was available. now i know why.
will be hanging on to my cal-mag well in to the future.

They said anything sold after Aug 15th is the new formula, so you probably got it. They also said they still have lots of old empty bags left so even if you have the new formula it could be in the old bag.
yup. from the ground up. no kit.
used to build and sell them word of mouth. now i generally recommend qbs.
it's the older 9.9 kg size, so figger i'm outta luck.
haven't laid eyes on it yet so will have a close check for sure.

kinda hard without knowing your set up and what you are looking for. check out led gardener online. there are example builds, and calculators for matching light emitters and drivers.
i'm running 2 mean well 320H c1400b drivers, each driving 6 clu048 1212 pots, 6 at 3500K, 6 at 3000K. the light is constant current biased as opposed to constant voltage. can do them either way.
it's built as two banks of six separate pots. i could have done two stand alones for plants at different heights, but it wasn't necessary with dimming and the amount of intensity available. so i built lightzilla.
i run fused power as an extra precaution. if i get a bad spike the fuse will blow before any damage to the driver. the drivers are fused internally, and can be repaired if it comes to it, but i checked and for the cost of getting it done it's worth the hassel to put the fused plugs on.
i use simple series wiring and match everything up. this means i should not run fewer than 6 cobs per driver on this build. not a big deal as i run dimmable drivers and can dial intensity up or down.
the cobs themselves are earlier citizen horticulture 1212's. they are intended to run at 50w each, but i am probably only running about 35w ea. citizen doesn't make a designated horticulture cob in a 1212 any more, but it doesn't matter as the others were near identical, and the standard new versions sold now are better any way.

Thanks bluter! Been looking at cob shop like the idea of hanging them individually in lower light areas in the tent. Hoping i could save a few bucks if i just diy'd them.

mars-hydro has a promo on for standalone single cobs with onboard drivers right now. not my first choice for personal / political choices, but they are a sponsor and it may be the easiest way to get where you want.

I used to use the Mega Crop 1.0 and grew in Promix BX. I would carefully measure out 6.5 grams of MC to 1 gallon of water and had excellent success.
I am also using MC 1.0 and have it dialed in at 4g/gal plus 1g/gal Epsom salt.
