Hempy Headquarters

I germ in straight perlite, no paper towels (never understood that one). I put plastic wrap on top to keep it moist. Besure to remove the plastic wrap when they sprout. I use no nutes until a few days after they sprout.

:passitleft:
Do I need to worry about taping up the drainage hole?

I tape to soak the Perlite, then rip it off

I'll water like an oz or so till they pop, keep the top moist unless my humidity done is rocking the water droplets

Coco vs Perlite germ testing

Let em soak a bit

I'm out off plastic wrap too. But when I was looking around for plastic bags I found a retired fish tank that just may work. It holds four of my mini hempy buckets perfectly.
I just have to enclose the top fully.

Very nice

What we gunna grow ????
Barney's strains. Triple Cheese, Gorilla Zkittlez and G13 Haze. The others are clones of my bagseed and Lemon Og Candy that will be mothers.

@Virgin ground I am currently growing a Gorilla Zkittlez from Barney's Farm that I got from seedsman and the genetics are great! The internodal growth is so tight I have had to remove several fan leaves as they were starting create some leave damage due to them being on top of each other.

I wonder how long Fox Farms is shelf stable? I've had it just over a year and I don't recall seeing an expiration date.

A forum member contacted the company and asked. I'm paraphrasing, but the response was basically that it's stable and should remain that way as long as the bottles are kept tightly closed, cool storage, and that the person shakes the <BLEEP> out of it before use.

Nice. Going to leave a pair in the cups until harvest?

That would be a very interesting experiment there.

Has anybody cloned straight to a small hempy? I am talking about taking a cutting, dipping it in clonex then straight to the cup for root development?

I've rooted cuttings in perlite with a bit of vermiculite mixed in to help hold water (the cups were "traditional," that is to say, couple drain holes on the bottom instead of a hempy-style reservoir).

I didn't dip them into Clonex, though. Used Olivia's Cloning Gel. Or sometimes nothing.

Perlite works. Soil works. A cup of water works. A bit of damp peat moss wrapped around a purposely injured section of branch (while it's still attached) works, see: air layering. Allowing part of a branch (that's still attached to the plant) to lay on the ground for a little too long works. <SHRUGS> It's just rooting a cutting - it's not so much "getting the things to live" as it is stepping back and allowing them to do so. People worry too much about details. Feed the mother, wait a few hours, take the cuttings, and place them somewhere that allows them access to water through the stem.

Life is programmed to continue. Otherwise, none of it would still exist. . . .

I'm really looking forward to running her. She looks like a great strain.

Well said @TorturedSoul. I will be trying this once I get to cloning phase of strains that I want to keep.

That's interesting to clone while still attached to the plant. Sounds like reverse grafting. Pretty cool

Just transplanted to hempy today. I was sent these to test along with others but these 3/12 are the only survivors of the wrath of USPS.

This is my favorite plant, even if it doesn't turn out to be the best. She was supposed to be tossed out long ago... I didn't have the heart to though. I think I chose wisely, despite the fact that she may have a longer than optimal flowering time.

She is knocked up by Harlequin as well.
