Help: Plant been sick for over a month

I'm taking all pictures from the tips of the bud, and there are parts that look like they are about ready to harvest, while other parts have very little amber going on. What do you guys think based on this? should I do the first harvest sometime this week?

Drying while in the dirt or already cut, its that same day or two. I would just cut 'em now if it was me.
Okay thanks man. What do you think about the fact that some areas have thricomes that aren't cloudy yet, still slightly see through, and with no brown thricomes anywhere near them? The last two pictures I posted. While some areas have ambered thricomes, others have not.

Usually, when I think it's time to do something to my plant... I wait a bit longer and than I do it. May 9th marked the 8 week period, that is when I thought I should harvest, and now I am in the "waiting a bit longer" period.

You said the pics were from the top of buds, I'm assuming you mean the actual flowers themselves, and not the leaves. As long as the flowers themselves have amber on them, I would call them done.
If you feel some of the buds are not quite ready enough, you could selectively harvest and let the plant continue maturing the ones that are left. I did try that one time (was curious about how the lower popcorn buds might be) but it didn't make enough of a difference to make me want to do it again, so, idk, your mileage may vary /shrug

Yeah they are from the top of the nug, but sine it is microscopic, some sides of the top of the nug had ambered thricomes, while others didn't. That is why I am considering leaving them for another day or two.

I am going to do a staggered harvest, I'll update the thread with how it goes. Thanks for stopping by!

Today i will be harvesting MJ half way through "the night" around 3pm local time. It's actually midday for me, but plants are lights on 10pm-10am, so its night for them.

I dont want to cut off too much and stress the plant to death, so I've marked the colas im thinking of cutting. Do you all think this is good, or too much at once? I'm thinking to cut all the ones on the outside and the taller ones in the middle.

The plant might be sad for a moment, but it should be fine without regard to where you cut. I did one where I literally just cut the top half of the plant off and hung it (it was a smaller plant than yours, haha) and the rest of the plant just kept doing what it was doing. It needed way less water after that.

Appreciate your insight Sueet! I have so many colas that I'm worried if I cut all those fatties off the plant may be too stressed. There are some medium sized nugs that could wait a few more days before harvest, but I'm not sure if it's best to do the staggered harvest in like two stages; or, if you can actually do it in multiple stages picking clusters of nugs at a time. Haven't been able to find a lot of information on this

Honestly, after having done it only a couple times, I'm not likely to do it again, I don't feel it made enough difference to warrant the extra work and worry. Next time I will just put any that are less than perfect or too small into some oil or something /shrug
I don't know if the 'stress' at this point is a huge concern, you aren't talking about keeping them going for weeks and weeks right? That said, I don't know if you can expect those nugs to fatten up at all after cutting, more just maturing I think.

I won't be doing another grow after this, so I don't have to worry about the inefficiency of this method. Meaning, some people say it's not worth it because they are better off starting a new crop, but since I am not doing that, I have "all the time in the world" to continue flowering my current plants. Thus, I want to maximize it, so if I can keep them running for weeks without the thricomes turning amber, I will.

:woohoo:

IMHO this is not going to shock her, it’s less mouths for her to feed. Yeah, get the biggest colas!!!

:bravo:

I am so freaking excited for you. It’s taken a while but you have dogged this chick every step of the way and nailed her to the wall 420%

:high-five:
Thank you man! I went to harvest yesterday and I took a look with the microscope for good measure one last time. I was concerned I hadn't been as accurate as I needed to be with it. Upon doing so, I found that the plant isn't ready yet. I think all the shots I included in previous post with ambered thricomes were sugar leaves near the top, but I couldn't tell that.

Yesterday these are the pictures I got from my plant, and I decided to continue waiting a little longer.

The main thing is you are looking at the trichs, so yep I support whatever decision you make!! Agree that chick could stew for a bit longer based on the new pics. You’ve got a beautiful girl there....
Thank you brother! I am going strictly by thricomes, but I can see how easy it is to screw up by looking at the wrong part of the bud
Looks like candy, I'm excited for you :Rasta:
hehe thank you Sueet! I feel like a kid waiting for candy, so it is like candy to me :yummy:
