Heirloom's A Little Bit Of Everything - 2016 Journal

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its' now illegal to shoot them out of the sky even over your own property. No one has been prosecuted yet, but it is a federal offense. There will be more and more laws to protect drones and people will start getting prosecuted because they don't want more incidences especially since Law enforcement and more importantly major corporations like Amazon wills start using drones to deliver packages soon and it's these corporations that have the money to lobby our laws in their favor, . Up to 5 years in jail. If you shoot one down, I'm sure if you shot a law enforcement one down I would imagine that would be the same bad crime as hitting a cop car which in legal terms is like hitting an actual cop. So be careful. The world is changing despite how frustrated we all are protecting our privacy.

I just saw something on the news here that DEA had received a few of them and plan on using them starting next month... I have a 12 guage... A 22 long rifle... And maybe 1 or 2 others but I bet I can shoot it out of the sky...:). I love skeet shooting...:biglaugh::biglaugh:... Morning Heir....:circle-of-love:

ooops....thought it was a buzzard. Sorry....

We used to set up skeet shooting here. It was so much fun! I miss that.
I still have a 12 gauge and my Deer Rifle, but my favorite 20 gauge had to be sold last year. I'm still trying to talk him into willing it back to me.

Interesting. Kind of seems a huge invasion of privacy to me. So, a drone is allowed to hover in the air space over my property recording me while I'm lying naked in my pool and I am not allowed to shoot it down? Video record the air...okay I don't own the air space. But video record my property and me, I own that.

I did not know that drones are considered "aircraft" and included in these laws. Kind of befuddles me, there is no pilot on board...and it's electronic....
Yes, the world it is a-changing. :)

Very , very good point Cannafan...if it was me or my GF laying around , frolicking in the mid day sun, and all of a sudden this buzzing THING starts to "look" at us....it's coming down...i'l deal with the BS later. Co2 HP BBgun...quiet, no danger to the public shooting it in the air. Just peace of mind knowing whoever is controlling it...can buy another one to do their peeping! One flew over my house a bunch of times last weekend while my youngest and I were out in the driveway playing hockey...I didn't much care for it then either,...it was hovering over us...it must of had eye's eh! Have an awesome day everyone.

Ahhh drone killing. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Please don't shoot a 22 into the air, use your shotgun (a 22 round will travel a mile)

Also check the laws in your area... remember it is filming you and you are being recorded on their device so it better be legal to shoot it down, in fact I doubt if it is legal anywhere to shoot them down as that poses a threat to anything on the ground below it. I will ask our local folks soon... meantime, capture it on video, hopefully over posted land so the owners could be prosecuted and try to follow it to find said owners, don't shoot the owner either :cheesygrinsmiley:

chuck on a turban and hit it with a land to air missile as thats what theyll have you down as doing basically haha

Not YET. Seems to me if the feds/police are going to start sending those over your property, they should have to obtain a freakin' search warrant.
If I have time today, I've been meaning to check into any laws or potential laws on those things. They are using them in the real estate market to show houses online. I'm told they have to very careful about not showing any of the neighbors houses or yards.
If I see one over my property, It WILL come down.

I'm not sure, but I think if you're in the US and you shoot it down and then say that you didn't INTEND to break the law, it will be ok!

Another 4" of rain here overnight and this morning. The sun just popped out but I'm afraid we're in for 2 more rainy days. UGH!

I believe a home/land owner has the right to shoot down a drone if it's over their property. Of course living in a city or town with laws prohibiting shooting of guns would cause a problem. I have the arsenal to take down a drown but I suck at shooting skyward.

Have a great day all!

It takes a big dog to weigh a ton

Well, I suppose I could train some pigeons to take 'em down.

rpg booooooooooom
I have played too many shooting games... but definitely I would not leave it flying over my property and not do anything

Well, a lot of discussion over that one, lol. Not what I was asking, though I should have clarified given the company I'm in. I meant does anyone own one?

Privacy issues aside (which comes down to the operators morals, something we cannot, yet, control) a drone/copter is a tool, and as such it can be used for bad as well as good. Creative photography, videography. Security and area monitoring. Archaeology. Survey. Search and rescue. Herd and crop field management/monitoring/locating. Plain old fun harassing the dogs, lol.

I'm seriously thinking about buying one for my mid life cris....I mean 40th Bday. Look up DJI Phantom 4 and look it over, if the tech aspect is of interest to anyone. The thing is just plain cool. Touch screen (ipad, iphone or android) flyable and route programmable. A big plus for me as I can't imagine accurately controlling left stick with out thumb/fingers. 12MP camera, HD and 4K video as well as 120fps slow motion. It returns 'home' if signal is lost, or battery reaches the point of no return (yeah, it knows). Can sense and avoid objects (with some limitations). It can track an object. It's in budget and is as close as I can come to something I think I can handle....hopefully. $1300 replacements will make me really careful, lol.

Imagine a guerrilla grow you could easily monitor. Check them out with excellent pics and video with out hiking to the spot(s).

And no, I will not spy on people. 'Do unto others' and what not, and never been a degenerate peeper (was well into 30's before first/only nude bar. I'm still not clean). But I would monitor my property lines with it. Not that anybody actually lives anywhere near any of my lines, so privacy won't be an issue.

:Namaste:

 what can I say.. it is just a bad dream... I am 47 so what can I say ????? But anyways no need to panic..just feel the joy of the experience in life and LOVE from the people you grew to know :)

It's absolutely an invasion of privacy. And if one was over my property as a woman, I assure you I would handle it though probably discretely like with a mask on and not from standing on my property. lol I'm hoping the more people use it for bad reasons, like staking out properties to rob or to attack individuals they will make better surveillance or stalking laws that include drone usage/abuse. But it will be a long and hard fight. My assumption is that law enforcement is in a nightmare hell that there are cellphones everywhere, that can capture them doing anything. So to even the playing field, they will make sure the drone laws are in their favor to easily surveillance us. Big brother is watching unfortunately.

I'm thinking drone wars in the skies, I get a kick ass drone maybe with spikes all over it, and when I see a drone, I can crash mine into it. Then play all dumb "Sorry officer, I was just playing with my cool new toy and messed up the controls, and it mistakenly crashed into the other drone."

Your best bet is to deploy a net if you want to take one down. Or be a skilled skeet shooter or eagle trainer. If someone is watching you, they'll see the gun come out. At 35-45mph it's going to be gone before you draw a bead. A single shot from a rifle, air or otherwise would be a miracle hit.

After watching "when animals attack drones" on youtube a bit ago, I'm thinking more seriously that it would pay to train something that flies. Animals don't like those things at ALL. I guess they look at it as an annoying gnat. LOL
Of course, at the end of the video we see how people are using them (drones) to shoot and do violence with. It's going to get real ugly with these things out there for people who aren't using them for the good intentions you are for sure.

Look forward to how you do with yours. They are costly, that's for sure.

:circle-of-love:

As the prices go down, problems will go up, that's for sure.

I like the net idea. But how about a super soaker water gun?! lol

That went pear shaped Heir :rofl: love a side track... :passitleft:

40 is mid life heirloom? Someone forgot to tell me....I have been working on my 50 midlife crisis list...thinking 50 was the number at which I can do a bunch of everything and blame it on midlife crisis.

Now u tell me I missed it by a year. Can I pretend to have a late mid life crisis....I am 41 almost 42...not sure if I can claim it two years past the redemption age.

What u think?

I am new to all this...remember that when I give my limited advice
