And a note about whats up here:
I have 10 of my sib1 cross Dark Devils started. Have had one germ failure in 11 beans. Since clones didn't happen for my big #20 fabric pots, I figured it was a good opportunity to see what they would do outdoors in big pots. So 8 are designated for those, and the others are going to grow in a tent in #5 pots.
Should have a decent harvest in about 11 weeks.
And the planted girls. Damn. They are going to be crazy. I 'cruise directed' some training, lol. Actually I tried to get my hands dirty, that's what was happening when I screwed up and fell. They've been topped, bent over 90 degrees, have all the side branches pulled out and down and spaced apart. Each is getting trained out to the root zone edge in a pattern sorta like spokes on a bike rim. That obviously forces the middle branch sites to shoot up creating the flat top canopy. It's low stress training like SCROG, but with no screen over the plant. I'll have a pic or two taken soon to show you all how we anchored the ties for each branch and did it in a way that can they be moved and adjusted without driving stakes into the roots all over the place. Brilliant, if that's not to lame of me to say. You'll see.
