Heavens Shores - Bill's 2022 Grow: Come Meet Howie! Show Us Your Grow Too - Bring A Pic

We'll all be in there with a lab coat, and gloves looking professional as hell
Just need a space heater, or tbh I like the cold, just means you add more layers of clothing x'D
Who else is joining this trim party?!
Early stages yet.
But open invitation.
I'll provide the cowboy steaks.
And Stacey knows where to get some pot.;)
Better start counting my airmiles.

Morning TC. :ciao:
I just thought the heat from the BBQ would keep them warm at night.
No idea how much c02 it produces.
Just a cheep substitute for some heat until I can convince Stacey we need one.
If I suggest spending any more money I may be sleeping out there.
Hope work goes well today.
Talk soon.

In my experience with cold greenhouses, radiant heat is more costly and less effective than using conductive heat.
Even with knowing this, I still use both radiant and conductive heat when its cold.
What I have done to help with heat is lay the ground with foil insulation, then pex tubing, and a layer of plywood on top to set the plants on.
Then I plumb a standard house water heater to the pex tubing and a cheap water pump inline with the tubing. The pump circulates the hot water from the water heater underneath the plywood, heating the plants from the base of the pot up... the roots... the plants are very happy and if the roots stay warm when its cold.
In my situation, I did not plumb exhaust on the water heater, installed inside my greenhouse... therefore radiant heat and co2 pump out of the top of the water heater for the plants too.

Plants are looking great bill! It's always exciting watching them bud.

No worries! We're in flower at the same time, I'll make my stuff into edibles ;)
Never had a Cowboy steak before, that sounds bloody amazing! :D

Safe Regards,
Darade.

I hiked just north of Banff and got 10 inches first week of October.
That's a little north of me.
About level with Moosonee a good days Train ride north of me.
I hope we have a nice long warm autumn, to make up for summer.
Have your snow shoes ready just incase I need to borrow them. ;)
Take care Stone. :ciao:

Thanks Amigo.
We have a boiler doing our radiant in the house.
An excellent suggestion for the greenhouse as well thank you. :thanks:
I've been scrambling trying to catch all year and the greenhouse was a last minute decision.
We only moved in last September.
Cold damp spring and mites put me behind right out of the gate.
I'll be more equipped next year and may go with a c02 genny for this year.
It's something I'll always need.
Hopefully I can put together a more permanent solution for 2023.
I'm just rooting for pistils at this point.
Some are showing well, but  I may have been a touch late flipping.
A warm fall will be my savor. 🤞
I still want to come back over and ask about a couple things about your business.
I've been so busy and still recovering from pretty bad heat stroke that I haven't had a chance.
I'll catch up with you soon though.
Thank you for dropping by.:ciao:
Take care.

Thanks Amigo.

Wow that’s really smart not venting your w.heater to provide co2 for your plants.

Thanks Amigo.

Hope that you recover well from the heat-stroke, Bill.

I think your plants are looking great considerring the late start. My plants are a 10-12 week flower and they JUST started showing pistils as you have seen.
I think you ought to be fine if you have photos and am crossing my fingers that you get a warm spell.

Cheers!

Wha that’s so cool was that in Toronto?
Hey TC :ciao: I lived in Toronto at the time.
But raced all over Ontario.
I was sponsored by a few companies back then.
Made the Nationals in British Columbia that year but couldn't go.
I was still see stars from a practice crash.
That pic was either Hully Gully race park in Varna or Moto Park MX. in Chatsworth Ont.
I still have Andre Melarbs pitboard from the World Championships that year.
Nicked it from his pits.;)
It's in the shed.
Hope your good Amigo
