Hey Daniel , coco maby but this soil stuff is still a mystery to me.The soil master
Howie won't stop growing.Heeyy howie getting there now bill good job m8.
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend.I can’t wait for my second run
I have all of your guides saved and im sure my new plants will be happier..
Thank you for being so awesome..
Without your help my plants would have been dead long time ago.. probably eaten by bugs but your great support helped me get trough most issues and I felt much safer once you came around to help, Bill..
Thanks
Boss gave me the rest of the day off so I'm great thanks for asking..Hey Hap congrats Mucker , nice pic.
I run a ring in the moat on the outside to induce water flow to the edges of the pot.
A little extra perlite on top helps when the soil hardens ( hydrophobic ).
The perlite encourages vigorous root growth inside the pot as well.
I’m going to run a couple pots that I can open and show root structure.
I’ll do it in conjunction with the DYNOMYCO root show.
Air pots and bags with an opening.
It’ll be interesting.
Hope your enjoying your day.
Stay safe
Bill
Good morning Tim.Hey @Bill284 great tutorial in the layering. Do you do the same when they go in their final pot?
Thank you so much Jon.Damn @Bill284, now you’re displaying some very advanced journal skills. EXCELLENT TUTORIAL IN PICS!!!! Never seen you go all out on a journal before, this is amazing.
Thanks BK , I'll keep showing as many tips and tricks as I can through out the grow. Thanks for doing this Bill. It's really giving me great ideas

Good morning Howie and Bill....so bill I noticed that your posting at 2 a.m and it's light outside....did you do the tutorials yesterday and post them today or is it really that bright out that early?
And what's the temperature you used to up there? Still cold even end of June start of July? Sounds terrible lol but....but you have all that beautiful nature so if that's the trade of for being so far north than I get it lol.
Any way hope your having a fine morning so far and give Howie a butt scratch for me.
Good morning RD so nice of you to give us your advice, thanks for taking the time to help us out. There is a critical caveat to the BPBP - Bill`s Peanut Buster Parfait - (or BP Squared if you wish) layering method that I`ve just realized, and it`s a biggie I think.
Many people have developed a habit of `watering from below`, esp. seedlings, which is quite popular with gardeners with flats of seedlings that they water. I generated this habit from using those 6x6 plastic germination seedling plastics, all grouped onto a 10x20 standard tray.
Watering from below stops the threat of splashing, and dislodging seeds and is really the way to go if using flats for seedlings. However, if you were to cross seedling growing techniques here I think a disaster could be in the offing because basic hydrological mechanics tell us that the capillary action that watering from below depends on cannot overtake hard borders of different mediums, regardless of how well they individually perform this capillary action.
This is counter to my own and most people`s instincts, for it seems that provided each layer is an excellent absorber of liquid that the action should just naturally flow, but it is not the case. This is a basic tenet that all engineers are taught as basic fundamentals. So, layering methods must never count on capillary action as a method of spreading fertigation or irrigation.
Thought I`d tack this on here, and I hope it`s clear what I`m driving at. Cheerio ladies, gentlemen, and Bill. Yo Howie! Sùp dogg...
Why not put a few barrels of water in the greenhouse? They'll act like a heat sink, lowering the high temps during the day as they store some of the excess heat, and increasing the low temps at night as that heat is released. Water is one of the best thermal batteries you can use because of its density. It's still bloody cold here at night
