Heavenly Hybrid 2nd Grow: Blackberry Kush, Coco Grow, LED450

I couldn’t wait. I hung the light and it’s up and running! One of them is bigger than the other, but they total 1050 watts, hopefully enough to bring on the buds! :yummy:

For my auto running wise masters, what light schedule do you run? @MrSauga I think I have the same LED as you, do you match the switches to veg/bloom according to what phase the autos are at? Last question, can I run a humidifier in the same tent as a mini ceramic heater?

I’m so thankful to you all for helping me through these decisions and questions I have. 420 really is the best place. :hugs::high-five:

I run 20/4 with my autos..... when I'm not running a crazy mix of photos & autos all jumbled together. LoL

Getting ready to drop some auto seeds this week as a matter of fact... Jealous of your JHa. I'm a total #jackjunkie lol
:thumb:
Im running a few photo Jack strains this summer, but didn't have any autos laying around to sneak in my spring group.

:passitleft:

I run 18/6 with my autos but that’s just due to the fact I keep it the same as my Veg lighting for my photos. I may try 20/4 in the future but 18/6 works well I find!

You can have both switches on all the way through AND it won’t affect it.

If you run a humidifier in the same tent as the ceramic heater just try to place them on opposite sides because I doubt the heater is water or moisture resistant!!

Cool, thanks! have just autos in the big tent, so I’ll change the light schedule. Maybe I’ll be able to get rid of the heater? Although we just got some snow with more coming.
This is my first time growing the Jack. Hubs just bought some Jack hybrid at the weed shop so we could give it a try. :thumb:

Yeah, that was my concern too. I’m trying to not use the humidifier just for that reason. The humidity is at around 40 without it so far. It dips down lower sometimes, but for the most part it stays 40-42. Hurry up spring, and I won’t have to worry about it anymore! :D

No advice?! What you win MOTY and now you’re done? ;)
I'm not offering advice if I don't have any :). I thought you were asking MrS about the light so I was just cheering on what you did last night. Sheesh!

Okay, yes you can run a heater and a humidifier. ;)

That's what I did at Derby's suggestion. Use the lights to add heat and no need to spend the watts on a heater. More light, bigger plants/buds. If you need heat run them at 24/0 instead of a heater.

Hey HH,
well for starters I was running autos 18/6. Some were showing pistils and some weren't, which led me to believe that maybe the PE's were not all autos.
So, they were flipped and have been running them on 12/12 for the last 60+ days. I haven't seen an issue running them at 12/12 but I'm sure most will tell you 20/4 or the least 18/6. I don't know if mine would have gotten any bigger at 18/6 anyhow.

The light I use is really an HID light. I have 2 x 1000 LED full spectrum, so no light switching for me. I only turn the LED's on at flip to really give the buds the light they want. Screws around with my heat and RH so it's not all the time. In fact I had those on a separate timer which cycled them 3 times for 2 hours each through the lights on.

Not sure if that was any help or not HH.

Phew, thank you, all of the sudden I’ve got to pull on some teeth! ;)
Thanks about the heater/humidifier, I’m kinda worried because it does make a moistness on the tent sides. I don’t want it to wreck all my electrical equipment.

I saw on your thread that you were looking at 24/0. I turned off the heater and added the warm mist humidifier to see what happens. It’s holding at 68°F so far, with the bloom lights on my smaller light and just veg lights on the big one. I’m thinking I’d much rather spend the wattage on lights if that will do the trick. The heater on low said 75w. I have no clue when it comes to watts and electricity, but I’d rather not spend a fortune on electricity if I can avoid it! Lol, I do not enjoy this troubleshooting portion of the program. Seriously stresses me out!

If your walls are dripping I'm kinda guessing your RH is a tad too high :).

It's hard to believe they make a heater that draws only 75w on low but I guess it's possible. But like you, I'd rather apply that 75w to the lights.

Okay, I'm putting my teeth back in now. See...there they are now: :D
I thought that too (the wet walls) but the hygrometer says 49% with it on. :hmmmm: Maybe it’s better to leave it out of there?
Oops sorry, typo - it’s 750 watts
I was looking at the manual for the new light
7B047C5F-7C6B-4EA2-9ABC-B326C0219697.jpeg
It has wattage listed but not a difference between veg/bloom? Either way it looks like light is a better option as long as it’s warm enough? I’m a little confused, just by the chart, especially that right half. :hmmmm:
Thanks for the help, I really struggle with this stuff.

At 750 watts there's no way it's better to use a heater than the lights. At max your lights are only drawing 260 watts so if that creates the warmth then you save money and grow bigger plants!

I'm guessing the right side means either that the reds don't cover as much as the blues or that they expect you to lower the light in flower which means it covers less area for that reason. It also is claiming that it puts out as many lux as a 600w HPS bulb. Some may disagree with that but it doesn't really matter as you're not choosing between the two.

Thank you so much Shed! Light on 24/0, and heater out. Check!
It also has this chart
CCC44AC2-255E-4C1E-AFDD-7F2BBD369C06.jpeg

right now I’ve got them at 28” from the top of the plant. It just seems so far. I just don’t know how closely I should be following these directions, since most LEDs say 18-24” away.

All I have to say is :cheer:

No, seriously. You can definitely ignore the "Using hours" column as we've been discussing. I'd start at their height and then search the 420 site for that make/model and ask in the journals of folks who use them. Barring that, start high and lower it an inch a day until you see the leaves change look (curling edges, curling away from the lights, things like that). Then move them back up an inch and your golden, until the plant grows taller and you may have to back the light up again.

From that chart you can see why you get less coverage in flower...they recommend lowering the light.

Thank you Shed, I promise I’m done with questions... (for now)
Seriously though, thank you so much :hugs::high-five:

You have the vipar600
I have 2x of the vipar450 and I have it hanging 14” above my criticals canopy now. I will push it to 12” above come mid/late flower for that final boost!

EDIT: sorry stoned and forgot what I was getting at.... I would ignore their height chart. I started off at their “veg” limit and lowered from there. These lights although state 600W they are only a true 260W light which you can push closer to the plants!!
