Heavenly Hybrid’s Hideout: Jump In Anytime

Hello again grow buddies. I did a little more training for the big three today and got pics of Cherry-18 post quad treatment.

First up, the big 3.

And now, here’s Cherry-18 post quad topped above node 4, and removed nodes 1-2.

She’s quite the drooper here. It’s just before lights out, so hopefully she will perk up again after a rest. I may have overwatered her too? I’ll move her into her bigger pot tomorrow, or more likely, the next day. We’re going out of town for a couple days and she can adjust to her new home while I’m gone.

What up fam!

That’s the latest around here. It will be the first time I’ve left my plants for more than one night. I’m sure they’ll be fine. I recently saw N420 leave for 4-5 days and all was well when he came back, so that’s helping me have the courage to leave them. It’s also the first time in a long time that I’m using soil rather than promix; it drains nice and slow, so mama can go! :D

Hope you are all doing well and staying safe. And green gardens all around!

They look real good, HH!
And they'll look even better when you get back- have a safe trip!

Your Quad Squad is looking great so far. I love the prune job you've done - nice and neat. :thumb:

Lookin Great Hh!
It’s kinda old news now but you left them at the perfect time, right after transplant they can easily go a few days without you as they get adjusted to their new pots, I did the same thing and they didn’t miss a beat!

Hope you had a good time away! I’m sure the plants looked fantastic when you got back home!

Hello again growing buddies! We made it home safely and we did have a great time! We even stayed an extra night - which is very unlike me. It was lots of fun. And as predicted by many, the plants were fine and dandy when we got back. I am so glad I switched over to water-only soil… at least so far. :)

Cherry 18 did just great adjusting to her new home. I followed your advice @N420 and it worked well.

She’s ready to start some training. I’ll let her dry out for another day or so first. @Amy Gardner taught me that they’re more pliable when on the dry side, less likely to break.

The rest of the ladies fared well also. Two were ready for water, but not too dry, BOS and Gelato. They are bigger, so not too surprising.

I’m starting to have a favorite I think… CM is such a cutie. Nice and symmetrical, lowers nearly caught up with the uppers. Good quad.

Cherry 18 is a week behind the rest. I feel like she is really catching up as best as she can. She’s just a low rider, I guess.

I adjusted a couple of the lower ties that had grown out. I ordered some 3 gallon plastic pots. Once I get them moved into those (over the next week or so), I’ll probably start letting them grow upwards. Then flippy-flip!! I’m running out of my go to buds, so now I’m feeling eager to get it started.

That’s all for the hideout haps. I’ll leave off with a couple of ocean pics. :meditate:

The plants did well in your absence HH, and it looks like you did well in your absence too! Lovely shots. :Rasta:

The plants did nothing but grow while you were gone, and ya can't beat that!
They're happy (and healthy) to have you back...
As are we...
glad you had a fun trip!

Thanks GDB! I’m relieved to know I can get a way for a few days without trouble.

They did splendidly without me, didn’t they!? What good girls :)

Thanks HG, it really was great all the way around. :)
The plants look happy AF and the vacay looks and sounds like it was terrific! I can't remember the last time I went anywhere that I wanted to spend an extra day. :hmmmm:

:welcome: back!
Lmao, thanks Shed. Me neither, I usually want to leave early. :D It was the first trip we’ve gone on since the pandemic started, it’s been a long time coming.

As you all may know, I’ve been keeping a Candida clone going until I need to grow one out again. I wanted to share a funny little situation that’s been going on behind the scenes.

Weeks ago I planted a couple of rooted cuttings. I had lots of room so I kept a couple, just to be safe.
Here they are on in the dirt day
C12F21E9-251E-48C4-95FC-1CE8C040AE97.jpeg
The solo clone had the most roots, and took off right away. The fabric pot girl had one little baby root, and seemed to stall out and after a few weeks. I took her out of the tent, and she sat in the dark. No sun, no water.

The solo cup clone grew large and had to be cut back, so I stuck the cuttings in some perlite to hopefully root. Over the time, solo clone started looking pretty shabby, I’m sure she’s quite root bound by now, so I was a tiny bit worried. (Candida is very precious to me!) A week went by, and I noticed the fabric clone wasn’t dead yet. :hmmmm: I looked closer and it looked like she was trying to bloom!

Would you ever guess these were both planted on the same day?! :laughtwo:

I brought the fab clone back into the tent and started watering her again. Sure enough, she’s showing some new growth up top! What a surprise.

I know she’s quite sad looking, but I like having some extra candida as back up. Who knows, I may even flower this one out with the rest of this group?

Anyhow, I thought it was amusing, so I’d share. Once again, I’m astounded at how very resilient these plants are! :yummy:

Funny how we always want to keep Candida backups! I have one rooted cutting from perlite due for a 1 gallon, 2 more in ProMix from perlite with tiny roots, 3 cuttings in perlite with no roots yet, and 4 directly into ProMix under a dome.

And I guess it's not surprising that it went into flower in the dark, but it's surprising it kept up the rooting with no water. Mama I want to live!

Haha, she’s convinced me and saved herself!

I hear that, it’s just too important! I have Candida-overgrown, Candida-little clone, and Candida-cuttings. You do have a lot, are you reversing?

I will be at some point but I'm not sure when, so these all might get tossed except the one needing transplant. I have to go to NY for at least a week (maybe two) sometime this year to clear out my parents' apartment, so I'll need to have no plants growing other than mothers then.
That’ll be a job and a half. I hope you’ll get some help! Do they own the apartment? Surely it’s not a rental.

Hello growing-type friends! We did a little more maintenance on the up and coming quads today. Really just moving the ties out another node space and then tucking any blocking leaves aside.

She’s outgrown her pot space. I just received my 3 gal pots, so once she dries a little more I’ll transplant her to her final home. Tonight or tomorrow.

She’s like the little engine that could. Trying to keep up with her sisters!

The tips of her upmost leaves have some yellowing. None showing anywhere else. I’m in unknown territory here, so any help troubleshooting is appreciated. Maybe she got too dry? None of the others are showing this and they’re older, so too dry is my best guess. :hmmmm:

She Anne Boleyn-ed her sister and here she stands.

We are family! I got all my sisters with me!

You’re welcome for the ear worm ;)

Next update will include some new shoes. They’ll be outgrowing this space soon, so it’s probably time for me to start cleaning up their new home, the 4x4 tent. It’s dirty af. No one cleaned up after the last party, and it’s a mess!

Hope all is well with you my lovelies!

They are looking fan-frickin tastic, HH!

I suggest adopting a "wait and see" attitude...because I also have no clue as to what that is... :hmmmm:

Thanks Carcass. I’ll keep an eye for sure. I do have a recharge product I can use, if it gets worse. I can’t imagine the soil is lacking anything at this point though, it’s still so early. We’ll see! :cheesygrinsmiley:
