Heavenly Hybrid’s Hideout: Jump In Anytime

Wow congrats on a 3-in-1 take down Sunday! Betcha that Afghani is happy to finally have all its buds facing in the same direction. :cheesygrinsmiley:

You'll be pooped for the next week just from trimming those beauties. :thumb:
I feel awful when I open the tent and see what I’ve done.
Just consider it an early start to trimming! My AK-47 used to do that if I missed a day...¼ of the fans would yellow and fall off. Focus on the beautiful buds. :laser:

Hello, hello grow buddies! Well, I survived my week of insanity, but just barely. ;) I hope you all had a great and safe thanksgiving. I’ll be pooped for the next week or two from mine! Lol.

As for the plants, some things have happened... first the bad news...

During the madness, I knew bubble gum needed watering and I forgot for a full day. She got super wilty and dried out. After I watered her again, she perked back up, but SO yellow. She has about a week to go, so she’s nearly done, but I feel awful when I open the tent and see what I’ve done. :(

The rest of the news happened on Sunday.

I checked trichomes on all three. Afghani could have gone a bit longer, but the other two were ready and starting to throw nanners. I made the executive decision and chopped all three.

I really wanted to try drying in the tent, so afghani didn’t get her full 13 weeks like she did last time. We’ll see how she turns out with a shorter cook time. :D They’ve been hanging since Sunday night and seem to be drying nicely so far.

Well that’s the big news over here. I have a ton of catching up to do on journals, so I’ll be making the rounds again. I hope you’re all having a relaxing week with lots of yummy left overs.
Nice harvest, HH! I'm guessing the Afghani will be just fine. :Rasta:

Thank you guys!!:love: I appreciate you all helping me feel better about my mistake. I’m glad those yellows will be gone soon! She does have some big girl buds. I wonder if she will end up being my biggest auto yield so far? She’s got potential.

The hanging three just need to dry well and then I’ll have the big reveal for the trick up my sleeve...:nomo:

I feel like I'm in a Dutchman thread!
I learned from the best! Although my big reveals are much less exciting and much less frequent than that guy. He’s got a fancy new thing just about every week! :laughtwo: Livin that d.i.n.k. lifestyle.

Hello my grow buddies! I hope you’re all having a nice, relaxing Sunday (Monday for Amy). :cheesygrinsmiley:

Well, I think I’ve let the suspense build more than enough; and now that Dutchman made an appearance (!!) it’s time for the big reveal. The trick up my sleeve. That latest addition to my grow/harvest arsenal. It’s a.......

After getting a new light and increasing my yields, I had to get something to help me harvest. Multiple days of many hours of harvesting just doesn’t fit into my mom life so well.

I’m still learning, but I used it for every plant this harvest and I’d say it cut harvesting time down by about half or more. Here’s a little example of the results:

Starting with my first try with it - Candida.

And the final result!

I still have to clean up each bud. But rather than cutting every leaf off, I have 2-3 snips per bud.

As trial and error went on, the next plant up was Sour Tangie.

The second time around, the plant was still too wet and I did not have the result I was hoping for. I had some serious buyers remorse-type concerns after this one.

Moving on and moving forward, the next plant I tried it on was the GGxWW. This time I just have the after pics. It worked much better on the dense buds of GGWW.

This was the best outcome from the trimbag of all the plants this harvest. Lol, I guess I’ll have to only grow big, dense buds from now on. ;)

There were two more harvests that I completed yesterday, but (oops!) I forgot to take pics. I think you all get the jist though. This little bag certainly saved me many hours during a very tired and time-crunched period. It also saved Mr H and I from some of our harvesting pains, sore backs and necks. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it and hopefully as I continue to get better at using it and figuring out the optimal dryness level, it will just get better and better.

So that’s the big surprise. The big reveal. The trick up my sleeve.

It seems at my maximum pic count, so stay tuned; next up will be the final numbers for this run. :nomo:

Ok, I’m back for the final numbers from the 4x4 run.
D111494E-6966-4F42-A886-93A50AE547B0.jpeg

The asterisk means I weighed it without finishing the complete post-trimbag clean up, so they’re a little on the high side. I think it’s a bit obvious just by the numbers, Candida and sour tangie were under the strong light. GG was in the center, and Bubba and afghani were under my weaker light. The Sour Tangie, I cleaned up about half of the buds before I gave in for the night and weighed her up, but she was still the clear queen of this run.

Well my friends. That is all the excitement for today. I’m really happy to have this run finished and behind me, I’m friggin exhausted! Soon I’ll harvest the two autos and it’ll be on to the next grow session!! Until later you beautiful people!

That does look like a time (and neck) saver. Do you just toss the bag back and forth with the buds in there then?
It has some instructions, and YouTube videos are really helpful to see. But you hold it sideways and get it gently spinning and the centrifugal force to gets the dried leaves off. Hard to know exactly how much time it saves, but half seems like a solid estimate.

Now that's a cool new tool you have there! Nice reveal! Too bad you're destined to only growing big dense bud. Maybe you'll get used to it. :Rasta:
Thanks Stone and thanks for the giggle! You funny :laughtwo:
Omg!! When did you get a Trim bag!?!
How unexpected!!

You think they believe me!?!
Lmao, poor VG - always the last to know ;) :kisstwo:

Nice reveal, HH! An ideal surprise ending to the story of this grow. :Rasta:

And nice plants, too. :yahoo:

BTW, I did not know you were into new gadgets. Can I interest you in a GDB Dribbler?

Hello growers.

Time for the announcement of my new invention!

It's fairly self-explanatory. You use it during that critical period between when you've buried and seed in soil and are waiting for it to break through.

Start with a 16.9 ounce bottle of purified water.

Using a sharp object (I used my pointy scissors), punch a tiny hole in the top. (This pic is of the prototype, and that hole might be a little to big. :Rasta:)

That is a GDB Dribbler!

I can feel the jaws dropping all over the forum! Thank you, thank you.

Honestly speaking, it was a certain amount of envy and competitiveness that inspired me to invent this. Several members have patent-pending items widely in use by other members. @InTheShed has shedrocks and @MrSauga has the saugaview. I want those guys to know that a new inventor is among us, and he can do more than gather rocks or aim a camera downward.

And I won't be seeking a patent! :Rasta:

Congratulations on your harvests, and that nifty Trimbag! I had to watch a couple videos on that Trimbag - pretty interesting indeed.

After a few more uses, I'm sure you'll find a good process to get what you're looking for. I have a "wet" trimmer that has also saved me countless hours of trimming. Even though I still hand trim the top colas, all other buds do pretty well in the trimmer, but there's always a compromise between trimming too much bud material and leaving too many sugar leaves. The time savings makes it all worth it! :thumb:

Thank you and you are so right Beez! I was worried about trich loss or damage, but I also use my trim for oils, so I’m hopeful they hang around in good enough condition for that. I was considering doing the same as you for next time and hand trim any nice looking tops. It might be nice to keep those separated in a special jar anyway. :ganjamon:
