DAY 15 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Just over two weeks above surface and both banana Jealousies are doing great. Noticeable growth in the foliage... So they are happy with the light change for sure. . Number 2 is still a little tall but will be remedied next week with transplant.

They were watered yesterday with plain water with no additives until a slight run off and given a quick look over.... No concerns...no pests.... No deficiencies.

Light: 18/6 under 100w "Blurple" led.
Temperature: 74-76f - 23.3-24.4c
Humidity: 50-55%
Nutrients: none added, they are feeding on what is in the soil.

DAY 17 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Both ladies have been up-potted into two gallon fabric pots which were layered with 1" of perlite at the bottom, followed by about 1-1/2 inch of FFOC soil topped with a tsp of bone meal and 2 tsp of @DYNOMYCO mycorrhizal root inoculant. Then finished off the rest of the way with FFOC soil.

Once placed in the new homes they were both fed 1/3 cup @GeoFlora Nutrients Veg and watered to run off.

They have been sitting out on the back deck all day and seem to be loving the outdoors.

And before anyone says to fill em up.... I ordered more FFOC, so no worries lol I'm aware after a couple waterings the level is going to drop further so I must get on it asap.

And now they will be moved from inside to out daily and back in at night.... I know I know it will be a pain in the ass later on. But as of current I cannot have these outside due to colder night temps still and the issue of them being illegal for home cultivation for another two months ..... There has been a helicopter that has been flying around the area for the past few months weekly at night.... Could be nothing.... But why risk it.

But for now they get to chill and enjoy the scenery.

Oh one additional thought.... I'm going to have to figure out some kind of semi friendly animal deterrent. My back yard butts up to the cemetery and we get all kinds of animals ground hogs, fox, rabbits, etc.... so I don't want to harm any animals for plants....but also don't want them to harm the plants.

Was possibly thinking cayenne pepper spray in a perimeter around where I intend to keep them. But any other thoughts are welcomed....also must be teacup Chihuahua and 5 year old friendly as they play back there.

DAY 20 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Alright so the ladies got moved back inside for a couple of days, until this strong winded front passes through (2-3 days). Yesterday I woke up 6a.m to a calm morning with a strong sun and couple clouds....by 1 p.m had 21-25 steady winds with up to 48 mph gust . Anyhow I got home at 3:20 and the girls were layed over.... But luckily enough they were still just doing there thing . After a quick stilting and moved to the tent, they perked up quickly and resumed like nothing happened. For being so small they are very hardy. So far banana Jealousy by @SeedsMan is showing to be a strong strain, I'm excited to see what else these plants show.

They have received nothing since last watering from me. The storm the other day actually watered them for me... So I guess that was a plus lol.

After a check over they seem to be fine and free of pests or illness . They are now sitting back inside under @ViparSpectra P1000 100w light.

DAY 24 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Just a quickie update today. The ladies are doing well, both growing short and bushie . No damage no pest no concerns. Nothing added they were rewatered by mother nature 2 days ago. and are still heavy from that. Here are some pictures from about 7pm last night.

DAY 26 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

The banana Jealousies are doing great. I think they have acclimated to New York weather patter....which is non-existent ... Could be 60 for a bit and then drop 10° and high winds come out of nowhere....which has already happened.

Anyhow they're both growing fairly fast and are loving the outdoor environment. This is my first real attempt of having outside plants so it's awesome to see the power of the sun in action. Right now they are put out with the rising sun at 6a.m and brought back in at around 8-8:30 pm and stay under the light until next day... So they are receiving 14-14.5 hours of sun and then getting 7.5-8 hours of very low strength light with no darkness. I know it is recommended that plants receive a dark/rest period but they seem to be loving the routine.... I have done 24/0 before with good results similar to this but used dimmer on lamp instead of changing light source. For now I'll stick with what I'm doing, if anything changes I'll make a change.

They have been drying out the last couple of days and under a tarp when outside. The next watering will be tomorrow and they will also be receiving their first dose of food at 1/3 cup top dress Veg by @GeoFlora Nutrients with a tsp (manufacturer provided scoop) of Cal-mag in the water bottle (3L bottle).

So far I'm looking king the over growth and look of these, and can't wait to see what else Banana Jealousy by @SeedsMan has in-store.

Happy Saturday. The girls are out in the sun and just loving life. They took well to the first real feeding and have grown quite a bit since last post.

Will probably end up topping them twice and doing some heavy training on them. These are my first outdoor plants and so far so good with the sun.

Day 32 Banana Jealousies.

Both ladies topped 3 days ago and have moved on like nothing happened.
Both have also been watered to 1/3 runoff.
No issues, no pests, no concerns .
Just some happy plants.

The only concern I have is not even with the plants them selves or anything grow related... Our yard butts up to a cemetery and we get a lot of wild life.....like this fat ground hog/gopher...I'm not to sure ...but he's been munching leaves in the garden, and hoping he/she stays right there and leaves the porch alone.

*Also disregard the raggedy cane palm. It survived the winter here and I'm now rehabbing it *

So I'm new to the outdoor game.... But I was under the impression that photoperiods could veg essentially as long as you wanted..within reason of course.

Well both banana Jealousies are starting to flower already.... And they are getting 14+ hours of sun. In New York our longest day is 15 hours and like 30 minutes, and that's like in mid July.

So is this normal or did I screw something up?

I Did some reading and a few sources say that some cannabis plants can start initiating the flowering sequence between 0-16 hours of light...could this of been the case here?.. Obviously knowing that setting a plant in 12/12 will almost 100% of the time initiate this.

But does this mean I really cannot grow outside here due to not having enough light to sustain a long grow due to location geologically?.. again I'm new to O.D and would appreciate any feed back.

Also moving them inside is not possible as I have two plants finishing (give or take 2 weeks) and then starting another grow for a fun little 3v3.....so there just isn't room

I had my girls set with the sunrise and sunset, they chose to flower on their own accord as well. Which set me to changing the lights to 6a- 6p. I think they can still get their flower on with a 14+hr light schedule. Being outside they're getting more than enough light to meet their daily requirements. And I think it's good if they're not caring about the light schedule for your sake.

DAY 36 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Not to much to report on, we have some happy plants .

They have been using the brief rain we've had to keep them selves watered. And will be top dressed with 1/3 @GeoFlora Nutrients Veg now and will be watered in in a day or two....I'm just adding it now before I forget to do it.

Temperature here has been in the high 70s mid 80s with humidity at about %50. And they are receiving about 14.5 hours of day light.

DAY 42 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

Well these ladies just keep bushing out. Both are doing very well and growing at a very healthy pace. They are still showing bany calyx and pistils.... So this weekend I'll be buying an additional tent for the sole purpose of dark period. Since they've already started flowering I'll be following suit and helping it along. So the idea is 12 outside 6am-6pm and then place in full dark tent inside during night time 6pm-6am....I don't want to take a chance of hermies again so I need to be very strict on the time frame.

I also added a layer of sand to the top of the soil to deter any moist soil loving pests... I read in a few general garden forums/articles that just adding the sand greatly reduces and disrupts the life cycle of most larvae laying insects and also provides an unsuitable environment for egg laying since the sand will dry out much faster than the top of the soil..... So we will see how this goes.

No water or anything added from me.... Nature has had me covered there . I did add the next feeding of Veg nutrients for the next full water I give them.

No issues, no concerns, and no pests.

DAY 45 BANANA JEALOUSIES.

The banana jealousy girls are doing well, they have steady growth and really nice look to them so far. They are staying out on the back deck 24/7, and are receiving sunlight from about 5:30 a.m until about 8:30pm (15+-). The temperatures have been kinda crazy 70-80 degrees in the afternoon and 44 at night ... They don't seem to mind at all... very hardy plants. Both have also been fed 1/3 cup of @GeoFlora Nutrients Veg nutrients, and watered until runoff.

No problems.... no issue... No complaints , just happy plants .

DAY 51 BANANA JEALOUSY.

Has been a few days since I've updated, but the ladies are just moving along nicely. Both have adapted to the up and down weather conditions here... I believe that's called "hardening off"? Anyhow they like where they are .

Both have been watered by nature and will receive another dose of geoflora veg nutes once they dry out a bit.

I've decided to buy a dark tent for the girls. I know I could let them finish outside but I'd rather have a bit more control with the night hours. So I'll have that next weekend and that's when we will begin flip mode.

DAY 54 BANANA JEALOUSY.

I have to start off saying I'm loving how big and healthy they are getting. I'm used to growing autos, so my plants usually stay under a certain height and are never allowed to just do what they want. Both of them have put on noticable growth within the last few days....I'm assuming has to be the almost split combo of rain and high sun/temps.

Other than a few photos I have done nothing personally to them except check them over and moved them behind shelter when the winds were high. They're just rocking out .
