HashGirl's Summer 2022 Grow Journal

I’ve been dealing with leaf miners and thrips but I think I have them under control. First used @Sierra Natural Science 203 +209 systemic pest control but it takes a while for your plants to absorb so used Safers end all but I didn’t read directions to shake well. Last night made Dr.Bonner’s hemp peppermint soap spray with cayenne flakes +garlic powder. That or combos of all finally worked. Good luck.🍀

One of the prizes for GJOTM was SNS but because I'm not in the U.S., I don't think I'm getting it, which is too bad since people here seem to really like it.

All those inside plants were in veg, yes? I hope they finish in time given when the weather turns up there.

Yes. Me, too.

Nice stretch!

Good catch. :thumb: I hope that's the last of it!

IKR? Me, too.

And that's 77 days at 12/12. Did they say what month harvest would be outside because that would be based on being outside from June 21st on. :hmmmm:

Nirvana Seeds says late October. If it's really wet, we have a gazebo, I can move it under but sunshine is what I'm hoping for.

Plants look good, Shed despite the yellowing. My White Widow x Big Buds are yellowing more than normal, too and they're already being fed 5.5g of MC/gal. I'm thinking of bumping it up to 6.

Thanks HG! If you've got yellowing at 5.5 I'd see if you can find some magnesium nitrate. It should help with the N as well as the Ca/Mg ratio without overloading the Ca and the K that can happen at high doses of MC.

Just posting this here from Shed's thread.

I suggested 5.5g MC and 1g of magnesium nitrate to GDB and his greened up nicely.
Yes they did. But I would amend your recommendation to a dose or two of mag nitrate, not continuous. Too much and they'll get Nitrogen burn.

Now, where would I get magnesium nitrate?

I also need to figure out whether I'm going to try the use of microbes to battle molds and bud rot that @Azimuth is experimenting with.

Got some bigguns growing!

Hello HG...I know I'm late to the party, but, I've enjoyed catching up on your grow. I can't wait to see the final act :)

I hope it finishes strong and you and your hubby get the meds you need :cheer:

RC - Day 116:

This one worries me a bit since the breeder's flowering estimate is 77 days. That wasn't a problem indoors. :(

And, that's everything. Thanks for following along. I'll be back tomorrow with the new plan.

Hi HashGirl! I'm hoping in this thread a little late, but excited to see these finish out.
May I give a suggestion for the next grow inside?
You could place a companion plant within 4-6 feet from your plants inside the house. Something like Calendula or Sunflower, or there's a few others, that will divert the attention of the aphids and other bugs to the companion plants first. You will generally start to see aphids on the companion plants before they go to the cannabis, then you can be prepared to spray you cannabis and companion plants before the bugs have a chance to even get to your prized plants.
Aphids are around no mater how much we spray... might as well give them somewhere to hang out where we can monitor and record infestation levels.

I look forward to seeing these finish out! Good day :)

Greenway Biotech

Amazon Canada doesn't appear to carry any magnesium nitrate. I found Raw Nitrate. Would that work?

Thank you and :welcome: to my journal. I feel bad. I won Grow Journal of the Month for July and then I basically abandoned it for weeks. There will be an update today with lots of pics. Stay tuned.

*** Update Time ***

This update is long overdue and I have lots of pictures. First up are the new plants.

On August 15, I added 2 Blueberry seeds, 1 Chronic x Northern Lights seed and 1 Critical Cure CBD seed. Unfortunately, the Critical Cure seed failed to germinate so it was replaced with 1 Northern Soul seed.

The CB Dutch Treats have grown a lot during this time. CBDT1 gained 11 inches and CBDT3 gained 13 inches. Additionally, CB Dutch Treat 2 blew over 2 days ago and one of its branches is sticking out from the bottom. I haven't decided whether I'm going to chop it or not. And, despite CBDT1 being the tallest of the 3, she took the longest to get into flower.

Finally, we have Raspberry Cough and the White Widow x Big Buds. They're still yellowing and WWxBB1 blew over the same day that CBDT2 did. I didn't see any damage. Here are the pics:
