I'm amazed those outside beasts don't tip over in the slightest breeze...they're huge!

Felonious always waters them before putting them outside these days as we've been having really windy days with 40 to 70 kilometre winds.

Any suggestions on using my digital microscope on the outside plants without the background turning pink? It's really hard to decipher whether trichomes are milky, clear or amber when everything is pink.

In terms of when to flip, it's always just a question of how much room you have in the tent for those four plants in flower. I can see that big JH taking up a lot of room in flower and shading out the others so get some risers for the others. :)

Now that the GSCs are out of the large tent in the laundry room, I'm going to move 3 out of 4 of the plants from the other large tent to that one and switch them to flower. And, then, I'll probably start 4 new photoperiod plants for the tent where they were.

I like having grow journals for my grows and I had hoped to keep having separate journals for each grow but I still have 11 plants left from my current grow and need to add 4 new ones so now I'm thinking that a perpetual journal might be the way to go.

Any thoughts?

:welldone:HashGirl! You have certainly grown your skills!

I think a perpetual is a great idea.

Thank you, Felipe. I definitely feel like I'm starting to get a handle on things.

Thought I'd pop over for an update. Been lurking a while. Your plants are stunners. AllI showroom condition. Cheers

:welcome: to my journal, Lerugged. Thank you for the compliment.

Maybe you should snip small testers and scope them inside?

That's a good idea. Maybe I should have scoped the buds that I pulled off with bud rot this morning. But, I'm guessing the rot would make it hard to see what colour the trichomes are.

Are you asking someone whose perpetual runs over 1300 pages?

I actually was asking you. :battingeyelashes: Do you like having such a long journal? Is there anything you don't like about having a perpetual journal?

I do like it because it makes it much easier for me to find information I've put there. Given the number of posts I have on this site it's much easier for me to find stuff about my grow by searching "This thread" rather the "Everywhere."

The downside is some folks are afraid to subscribe because they think they might need to catch up to understand what's happening.

I've decided to not do a perpetual journal for your reason above. Felonious said that your journal and other long journals on 420 are part of the reason he doesn't hang out here much as he says it's hard to find what he wants. He says 420 just has too much info.

I sometimes wish there was a "Step-By-Step" section which had posts with just the relevant info. There's tons of fantastic info in the various threads, but you have to wade through quite a bit sometimes to find it.

I do mostly like the back and forth of the various threads but sometimes I just want the "how to." There are some threads dedicated to specific topics and are closed to new comments which I've found helpful like the one on various ways to root cuttings, etc.

Maybe there could be a link out to a discussion thread for those that want to discuss, while at the same time keeping the raw info concise.

The trouble with this is that you will find folks with all sorts of different takes on the question you'd like an answer to. Those type of threads have been tried, but there are many ways to skin a cat and you end up with a lot of conflicting info that leaves you back where you are now.

I recommend asking the folks that are successfully doing what you want to try. For example, I would seek out West Hippie for any DWC or flood and drain questions, and so on.

That's the other reason Felonious doesn't hang out here much. He finds such posts confusing when so many people chime in.

AND... Felonious isn't really a computer guy at all. He worked in a factory for 33 years. I was a secretary for 30 years so typing and computers come more naturally to me.

Yes, that's definitely something he has missed having the past 2 years. Hopefully, next summer we can host a couple.

Good morning.

Every morning, I'm pulling bud rot off the Big Devils. We scoped one of the colas we had to cut off (on the non bud rot part) and here's what they look like:

There are a lot of cloudy trichomes and a few amber. Should I chop them down in order to prevent more bud rot?

Here are photos of where bud rot has been removed from:

Their projected flowering time is 56 to 63 days and they're currently at Day 64 in flower.

And, yes, it appears it's happening overnight since I literally am pulling off more every morning. I usually find 2 or 3 spots every morning. We've been putting them in the gazebo at night and Felonious has been shaking the dew off them every morning.

That's a tough call HashGirl. Only you and Felonious can tell if there's going to be a plant left in the morning I think.
