Huh - I had to switch the message editor out of WYSIWYG mode in order to edit out the table. Anyway, I don't understand how the low level of THC(a) makes it surprising that the buds have trichomes on them. Trichomes aren't THC(a). THC(a) is contained within trichomes - but so are all the other cannabinoids. And the strain is supposed to have a moderate level of CBD.

I've encountered bud before that looked good, but didn't get me high - might as well have been smoking air if it weren't for the coughing fits. We routinely talk about "THC in buds," but it would probably be more technically correct to use the words "THC on buds." Had there not been visible trichomes, I'd have suspected that they'd been "washed" for extracts, even though they didn't present as having been rinsed with butane (seems to alter the tint of the green).

Now I'm thinking that that bud was of some kind of high-CBD (or some other cannabinoid - perhaps it had originally been THC, but had degraded into CBN? IDK) strain. We still have some outdoor-grown bud passing through now and then, and there's wild cannabis (hemp, ditchweed, whatever) around. There are still "a few" people who don't live on the Internet, have regular access to it, or occasionally, even have a cell phone (I live in town but it's a pretty rural region, outside of the towns). So, for some people, cannabis seeds come from the same place they used to, lol - from pollinated female plants. I can imagine someone seeing that one of their plants wasn't sin semilia, deciding to keep and grow the seeds, and ending up with a low-THC x "drug strain" cross.

Rambling, as usual. Just trying to stay awake until dawn.

Man I got three pages to catch up on................. But the first page was hella nice............

Hiya h00k :high-five: I’m in for this lakeside ride through the northern summer! I also have a Candida and a Bubba Hash going, a few weeks behind yours, in kit soil :thumb:

I’m looking forward to how you enjoy that dark purple from the DDa you mentioned. DDA is a pretty special one :ganjamon: . Great day to ya h00k :ciao:

They say that gnats are one of the pests that a layer of diatomaceous earth on top of the soil/etc. Tears up / desiccates their larvae. Won't kill the ones that fly in to your grow space, of course, but might help kill their offspring.

:thumb:

I recently did this and wiped out thousands of gnats in a few days.

I mixed up about 25% DE to 75% perlite to top dress all my pots. Between that, and a few yellow, sticky cards, they were wiped out ASAP. Haven't seen a bug since.

Hi Ya' Amy!...:ciao:...Glad you made it...:thumb:...I saw what you have going...will be interesting to watch each others grow...I'm liking the structure of Candida so far, and Bubba's gonna be a bush along with Nurse Lily...the CBD Critical Mass is the most impressive thus far...she has great potential...the A5/Panama wants to be a basketball player!...:nervous-guy:...and if the young Killer matches the one I have going with the DDA's, I'll be quite happy...
...speaking of the DDA's...looking forward to them for sure...heard nothing but good things...was hoping to see more yield, but with auto's, Ya never know I guess...

Hey there Doc - glad yer back at it once again this year. I'm a gonna pull up my Miskoka chair and hang on the landing watching the birds and the flowers grow.

Hold this for me while I get comfortable :passitleft:

GL with the ladies. Interested to see how your DDA grow up there.

I messed up my knee so I'm not entirely sure we gonna get up to the cottage early enough in time to start a round of them outside. We will see.

The DDA wont get big, just pop more seeds. It will be worth it.

EDIT:

Hows the black flies and skeeterz??

Hey Bob,,,good to see Ya... :thumb:...bummer bout the knee...sucks getting old......still waiting to hear when I'll get my new hip...
Yeah the DDA's are about a week or so from harvest...nice main cola's, but side branches are less than I expected, but to be honest they're gonna finish better than I originally thought, after seeing her throw pistils at 17 days...will prolly do a couple more next spring...
black flies and skeeters are never really an issue at place...if Ya go more inland, they can get intense. but haven't heard how bad they are...been too f00kin' cold to get too serious I would guess...anyways, look after the knee, and enjoy the cottage when Ya' get up ther...Did you move yet?...can't recall reading that...cheerz...:high-five:...h00k...:hookah:...

...quick update with a few pic's...The cabinet in the shed where the DDA's and A5//Killer are got flipped to 12/12...I expect maybe to be able to chop them on the weekend...mostly cloudy, and they are drinking barely anything...Killer, on the other hand is wanting water almost every other day...you can see in the pic how droopy she was this morning, after just being fed on Saturday...she will be getting her first spray with colloidal silver either this evening or tomorrow...I am using 500 ppm product diluted down to slightly over 60 ppm...it will be used twice daily for the first week, then tapering down to once daily after that... only going to be spraying 3 lower branches...should be enuff to get it on with the rest of the plant...be kewl if it works...

...couple shot's of the girlz downstairs...will get some better pics's in a day or 2 when they need a drink...killer is 17 days the rest, 27days...

I like your pretty pots there Dr Hook................

Looks like you stole them from behind the local schoolyard.........

Hey Hook! :passitleft: Looking good in there!!
Beautiful colours on those flowers! :adore:How are they smelling?

...heh...I'm terrible at smell descriptions...kinda sweet, but something else more earthy...chicory maybe?... :hmmmm:...not overpowering just yet, but just starting to smell it outside the door of the shed...no extraction in the little room, just 4 fans for circulation, so when the door is open it hits Ya'...cheerz...:high-five:...h00k...:hookah:...
