Oh, you're dead on my friend! They not only looooove to take their sweet time, its like they MUST take that long, I don't get it...

Hey Hey now. Not all females are like that, I am not. But then I have never been ya average bear. I do not like to stay in the mirror, never takes me long to get ready, don't like to window shop nor take hours to grocery shop or any kind of shopping. I go directly to what I want and get the hell out...lol

Anyone know if coco is a good media for Bonsai mums and dads?
I use straight coir for everything, from sticking cuttings to cropping. Long-term bonsais too.

My veg space runs with two twin T8 shop lights with 86 CRI Philips tubes. No upgrade plans ;)

Don't let coco coir's low price fool you; it's the best. KISS

umm, think ya could give the wifey some pointers??
Motherhood will change everything, you'll see. She'll either step up, or down.
Roll with it brother, and work with her.

QT had a head start. Her home town doesn't suffer fools gladly, nor tolerate the wasting of time :peace:

"country as a turnip green" Seasoned for life; salt of the Earth.

Don't go to the grocery with her. Sit with your child and give your wife a break :thanks:

It is great when your partner is also your best friend, that is how it is with me and my Papi. I am not from NYC just moved here a few years ago. I am actually from a small city in Pa. But I have been called country due to my accent. From what I hear country women are quite tough so you my friend have a diamond. I, myself is a little jaded but Papi is polishing me to become a diamond. I am a little rough around the edges...lol...It takes me at least an hour when it comes to grocery shopping.

Brother, you are dead on.... a couple diapers over hours in the aisles ANYDAY!!

Wisdom, right there.

Very much so, friend.:Namaste:

Thank you !! I think I may have found something I will love...And I do LOVE low price!! I am just an olde carpenter/farmer you see.
And the shop lights, going in shortly...cheap to replace those ballasts, think the bulbs are really watt(hehe, could'nt resist) count anyway...watt(lol) bulbs you recommend for 12" to 24" mothers??

My last 5kg block of coco coir cost me $11. With 5 gal water, it blows up to 2.5 cubic feet. Fugedabout the 'hempy' reservoir, regular plastic pots w/ holes at the bottom are perfect: you just need to handily channel the run-off, which should be 15% every time. Don't worry about the 'waste', it's much less than changing a big hydro reservoir. My thrifty Scotch ancesters approve of my methods :)

Flo tubes for moms & cuttings: High lumens (2800 - 3000), high CRI (high Kelvin). Philips Alto or whatever you find. Cut your 24" moms down, and put your tray of cuttings up on a riser block. 3.5" sq pots fit 18 to a 1020 tray. Four tubes light my 2 x 4 veg shelf nicely: it's a closet shelf at head-high. 11,000+ lumens @ 128 watts is as efficient as T5s, just a little less concentrated. Mine have been running non-stop for 2 or 3 years. T8s use a 'digital' ballast that costs as much to replace as the whole fixture costs new. Good thing they don't break ;)
