GSC LED Redux Cr8grow #8

Post hole diggers will put a hurt on a young fellow too. Even though I'm not young anymore, I still remember. :hmmmm:
Yeah, never really cared much for post hole diggers. Dug the holes for some big ole locust or hedge apple end post when I was late in my teens and that was the equivalency of a hot day of square bailing hay on my young body.

Still use a good old fashion spud bar for digging holes from time to time.

This one I dug with that 36" shovel. It worked amazingly until the hole got deep, which indicated to me that the hole was completed. Two feet deep should be enough considering this is in a very low lying area.
Now in all fairness this was an expansion on last year's hole.

By the looks of your girl's your cured bud yields are going to be through the roof!!!
Solid high quality organic bud is a true gem.

I was out yesterday my total gas cost to get out to the grow was just around $20.00.

Cheated and used one of my holes from last season where I got a five or six oz. of my best outdoor last season.
She was exposed to moderate to severe heat stress, so the yield was fine by me. Doubled the hole size for this season, so hopefully I'll double the yield.

Anyway digging these damn holes reminds me that my delinquent youth is way back in the rear view. But it is a lot of fun and feels like I'm keeping something from the past alive at least for a little longer.
Farmer R. All caught up…interesting property you have spread out. Outdoor grows are great to watch…been the norm for probably 25,000 years in the Kush region. Cheers

Day 94, just about half way through Week 14…Week 6 Flower. Organic Water/nutes 6 days ago….pots still have some heft. Water/flower nutes and guano tea likely tomorrow. I will amend with 1/4 cup of worm castings each for weak N supplement to finish. The girls are consuming the leaves…will gently pull all that fall off when watering, especially the crispy ones that can muck up a sticky bud next door or below. May just be buds soon. Temp ranging 64-81F and RH 35-51%. 64 degree nights will continue to purple up those buds so inclined….one pheno so far. Buds are swelling and filling in nicely. The stench is horrible, same as last WSE GSC fem grow…skunk sprayed hot parking lot diaper with garlic and soy. Dried and cured it will be strong citrus and skunk. I’m anxious to test drive the Garden of Green Green Crack back up plant, my first. Cheers and thanks for stopping by.

These are a very strong group of girls with established root systems, so it should be challenging to truly over water.

Usually I'll water/ feed the hell out of vegging girls over a three day period and water when they show stress after say five or more days.

Flowering girls I'll water/feed over usually five or six days, skipping a day or two then let them dry out.

I have just started to foliar feed, so I am quite ignorant on the subject.

Happy Easter
Farmer…keeping my water optios open and will check back here. Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks on now…a classic. Cheers

Day 98, end of Week 14, end of Week 6 flower. Plants are consuming N from fan leaves, but should be OK with about 3 weeks of flower to go, at least the GSC girls. The Green Crack (right front 8 ♦️) was started one week late as a back-up, but flower time is about a week shorter. No scoping of trichomes yet, but soon on the GC based on lack of new pistils. I will give them a light dose of fish/kelp emulsion and top dress with additional worm castings to help feed these hungry plants. Bud yield will be impacted by earlier issues, but I can tell quality will be very good. The smells are still terrible and all over the place (cat piss, skunk spray, hot diaper, etc.), but based on prior experience after cure at least the GSC buds will be fruity skunk, frosty, sticky and smooth. Watered and fed yesterday after 7 days, the longest dry cycle so far. I believe that there is much less water intake and transpiring based on the fact there are not that many leaves left. There are two fasciated buds…the one on the purple GSC could be a triple or quadruple. I really need to find some more time to catch up on other grows and threads. Pics from this afternoon. Have a great Memorial Day Holiday weekend. Cheers

Day 107, 2nd Day into Week 8 flower. I pulled all today to inspect on the work bench and trim crusty and soon to be crusty leaves. Good news is plenty of leaves left for N to finish flowering, at least the 3 GSCs. Last water/feed 4 days ago, still double guano tea plus flower nutes. Took scope shots today on top flowers after trim. The Green Crack is very close, a lot of cloudy and some amber and no new pistils. The GSCs are clear, cloudy and a few bits of amber. All will likely go to the end of week 9. They will all be chopped together due to my multipurpose cabinet. The buds are very frosty and sticky. All buds are firm, including the Green Crack. No doubt the @ViparSpectra XS1000 twins do excel at flower, trichome and terpene production. The smell is leveling off to sweet garlic skunk, fuel and fruity…less stank. Some of the Green Crack tiny buds are already drying on the vine. I chopped several and did a mini trim. Tester smoke report this afternoon is a surprisingly strong sativa forward high and very nice. The terpenes overpowered any chlorophyl and the smoke was smooth. Pics from this morning. Scope shots to follow in my next post. Cheers

Day 113, first day of Week 9 flower. Temps ranging 64-81F and RH 38-54%. Water and flower nutes every 6th day. Plants are consuming N from the leaves, plenty to last through flower. Going with full strength flower nutes and 2x guano…a bit of tip burn, but those will be trimmed away. All GSC and the Green Crack buds feel firm and very frosty. The smell is still very strong. The purple GSC is looking nice, with the mutant fasciated bud. The GC is just sad, but the main buds have a pink hue and will be great I think. Yield will be relatively low…it was my back up plant. I will scope again tomorrow, chop likely the end of Week 9 flower in 6 days. Pics from today. Cheers

Day 116, halfway through Week 17 and Week 9 flower. Will scope some more, but looks like they will likely be chopped next weekend at 9 weeks flower. Full water and flower nutes + guano yesterday, assume the last watering. Smell remains very strong. Buds are throwing up just a few new pistils, are firm and very frosty. The Green Crack 8♦️ is the ugliest plant, but expect the smoke to be high quality after dry and cure…just not a lot of it. Targeting 28 grams cured and hope to be surprised. I will update dry and cure and final yield. For the 3 Girl Scout Cookies, I will compare yield to my previous GSC grow #6 under CMH315w at 193 grams cured bud, or average 48.25 grams per plant (4). So my target with these Viparspecta XS1000 twins will be to achieve or exceed 48.25 grams per plant. I’m guessing the GSCs will net around 40 grams average cured buds x 3 plants. Pics from today. Cheers

Chopped all on Father’s Day, Day 121…9 weeks from flip to 12/12. Before chop went dark 2 days; plants were ready and I needed a couple days to swap in my dry rack into the grow cabinet. All chopped and hung whole, running 4” fan/filter only. Expect trim this weekend, going into cure jars, ideally around 62%RH out of the cabinet. Pics from Sunday…it was a wonderful Father’s day all around. I will document my slow cure to maximize quality, aroma and terps.

Hey Cr8, looking absolutely superb brother..
I love GSC and may actually give green crack a shot after seeing your lovely girl.
BC NZ…reminder…catch up on the Malawi multi grow on the deck. The GC was a drop in filler to run four plants. I was experimenting with LEDs and learned some things. My GC grow would need some adjustments if I would grow 4 of the same. I didn’t do justice to the genetics…I pulled several early dried up buds as testers. The frostiness is incredible and it is very potent. Cheers

Congrats one heck of a haul of amazing bud :thumb:
I can't wait to see the dry yield numbers.

Looks like they'll be a breeze to trim.
Farmer…will likely trim all tomorrow. I will post some pics and final weigh in after slow cure down to about 59% RH in big glass jars. Buds are firm and smell after touching lightly is mostly citrus. Nice to have two GSC phenos, another purple forward. All frosty. Calibrating jar hydrometers, fresh batteries for all. Cheers

7 days in the grow, now repurposed dry cabinet. 2 trimmed yesterday and last 2 today. Bud quality is exceptional, the LEDs do produce serious trichomes, supported by a good organic soil flower nute and guano regimen. Big cure jars read 56-58% RH. Lower than I wanted at trim. I usually shoot for 62% at trim then burp/seal jars in my cabinet for 7-10 days to glide down to 58-60%. This may be a cure change learning since I’ve been busy…let the buds protected by the drooping fans go a bit longer to pre cure and also cure the buds. I have kids and grandkids visiting over the 4th of July…need to get rid of the trim skunk in the house. The scissor hash tin is full…so nice and fresh. Decided to skip gloves and collect clean finger hash…a marble size ball that is heavy…sounds solid when dropped. Never collected charas before…a regrettable loss. I did get a shot of the fasciated bud…a quad I think. The @Weed Seeds Express throws out random fasciated buds…one last grow and multiple this grow. Pics from tonight. Final weigh in and jar down to 1/2 ozs with 58% Bovedas will be updated soon. I have two big bags of frosty trim and wee buds in the freezer…will run an ice hash run tomorrow. I expect a significant quantity of our house favorite primo hash. Cheers

Garage shots of the trim finger hash ball and raw scissor hash tin. Nice to have a quality smoke preview of bud quality before cure. Plan to ice hash wash 2 ziplock bags of frosty sugar leaf trim into hash later this week…expect several grams of 00 primo…a house favorite while it lasts. I almost forgot about the kief post trim…a big pile to be turned into shoe hash…nothing goes to waste.
