Growing Without Bloom Nutes By Farside05

Im the 1000th reply....Grats!

Just wanted to be that guy

Gah! It was Shed! Phaksaques!

Day 12

Fed each a half gallon (3g Mega Crop, 3ml Pro-Tekt, 3ml Cal Mag). Next feeding will probably be Thursday and I need to give them a rinse since I haven't watered till runoff yet. I'll probably up them to the 4's. Also dialed the lux up to 25-27k. One of the girls has some gnarly growth, but I think she'll grow out of it.

The girls are lookn great man congrats. They are off to the races now lol. Ok so i had a question about the nutes i got my mega crop an sweet candy in 2day. An i was wondering should i do half amounts for baby clones an starting seeds or is ur list of nute strength already lowerd enough? And also is this sweet candy like a bloom booster or am i supposed to use it with the megacrop from day one? Oh an i dont have 2 measure out an adjust the ph right?

I only formulate to MC's numbers with calmag, but when I do so in RO and aiming to make 5 grams of MC and 5ml of calmag, my PH settles to 5.9, but every once in a while I get a 5.8 or 6.0. I presume using actual MC and actual calmag will result in near perfect ph.

I put in Silica Blast in first and it raises to around ph 8 or 9. I add the nutes and I get it around ph 6.0. Which is good. I use an air pump for 24 hours in the water. Then the Ph has risen back to ph 8?? Weird...

Use my nute schedule as is. No need to half anything, it's already adjusted for the age of the plant. I've never used Sweet Candy, but it is more if a booster. I wouldn't use it the entire grow. If you're in soil or peat based Soil-less, you should have to concern yourself with the pH.

In my tap, MC on it's own place he's to come out around 6.5. Adding equal amounts of Cal Mag lowers it more, but if you throw in some Silica additive in equal amounts to the MC and Cal Mag, it balances back at the 6.5 again.

Ok well im using this promix so idk if this changes things or not lol.

Canadian or US version?
Ahh, theres a difference? :thedoubletake:
And because I see the Espanol, its US. It would have French if it were Canadian.

Because you're in peat, you need to counter it's natural acidity, but I'm in rockwool croutons and it has no PH about it. When I first did the MC formulation, I targeted my silica to 20ppm (30 less than yours) and my PH was between 7-8. I fought with that for 3 days b4 chucking it and mixing to silica at 0.9ppm and it get's it right there like Johnny on the Spot! FWIW, I don't use actual calmag, so there's no carbonate in my ferts, just CalNite. Here's the 2 reservoirs I have been running and you can see on the entire page, there's very little movement or manipulation needed.

Edit - I check EC and PH once a day

The US version has starter nutes in it that last about 2 weeks. The Canadian version has time released fertilizer that feeds up to 9 months.

Well i jus followed ur chart farside according to how old they were and then jus didnt use the protekt part. But yea i checked the ph jus 2 see what i got an it came in at 6.2 without me needing to adjust it or nuthn so i figure its close enough to what i already was doing which was 6.3 so i jus fed the girls n so far so gud lol.

Well then, imo, it is better that one would make their own "Praux Mix" if you are Canadian.

The more air you put through it the faster the pH will rise. As I recall, SB said this is only true for water with minerals in it, so not RO or distilled. But once you dissolve your nutes it in, then an airstone will raise the pH in that over time as well.

A water pump would generate less air-water interaction so shouldn't raise it as quickly.
Thanks Intheshed. :)

Otherwise you might as well be using Miracle Graux. lol See what I did there?
