Growing A Legend: An Auto Tribute To Jack Herer

It's sounds funny but theirs a lot to do to import, separate and then reship Xmas cards. It'll take a bit for all the pcs to align, but it'll be fun guys.....i can't wait to see what everyone tries lol.

Going to be interesting Guy. More then happy to help in any way if needed. Can you fill us in on the breeder for the JH auto? In case anyone wants to follow along with the class.

I'm going to see if I can up my BPI ratio on this grow (bugs per inch). That's one thing I probably do better than anyone in this grow!

Scary pic. You want to look away but you can't.

You mean the class project. In Canada we are using a CKS JH auto. Don't recall recall where the US ones are from; Van only told me two or three times and he wasn't here with a 2x4 to pound it into me.

The Canadians will be using Crop King seeds Jack Herer Auto.........the Americans will be using Greenhouse Seeds Jack Herer Auto

Thanks Spec! I'm going to have to start assembling that list. All I have is rubbing alcohol and vinegar! Looks like amazon.com is calling (again!).

Knock on wood I haven't seen PM yet :).

So one of my Panama x Malawi plants is pretty stunted, so I might have an open slot to join you guys. As far as a comparison grow goes, I'm running a 315 W CMH, so might be interesting to see what an auto will do under that, but I'd have to kick it down to 12/12 fairly soon--maybe not before it started flowering on its own but the other plants are all photoperiod.

Not a problem. You in Canada or the US? I'm sure you can get on the Christmas card list.

How would your Malawi get stunted, genetics or cold or? Kind of a crappy way to have an opening but well take it. Happy to have you Fert!

I'm going DWC under a 400w HID. First time I've really used one is this winter, and truly I was only convinced to turn it on once we had that really cold snap. Glad I did and I've kinda fallen for her a bit lol. Anyways, my White Cookies will be glad to have the company.

I don't know for sure, but I think it may have got root bound, or it was from getting too cool. I noticed some russet mites early on too, and I dropped my temperatures down to 50 F. The russets did some damage I'm sure, but I think most of it was from being in too small of pots and the temperature being too low. The other ones have bounced back but this one is still pretty dwarfed, so it probably had some transplant shock or something. I have 4 other cuts of the Panama x Malawi though, and to be honest this Panama x Malawi #1 that it is wasn't my favorite cut anyway so oh well.

Matter of fact I have 2x of every cut I have right now, and I had planned to make feminized seeds of everything with colloidal silver. So If I replace that with a Jack Herer auto, then I might just make some feminized Panama x Malawi x Jack Herer auto seeds. Maybe some feminized Platinum Girl Scout Cookies x Cherry OG x Jack Herer auto too.

I do know I've always loved Jack Herer. Anyone know the lineage of the auto version? Looking up the good old photoperiod strain and it seems pretty skunky.

I just gotta figure out how big though. Core coverage on all the lights i got would cover a 5x5. I want to figure out a tent size for only autos...it sounds like a good plan. If i commit im going all the way.

I've got 5 fem jack herer beans from the dam, ready to go but cause took some long to arrive I'm doing Greenhouse cheese and they will have to wait till that's done but over excited to grow this jack, what a legend, good luck will pull up a chair homie.

Im getting a tent to do this. Even if it doesnt show up im poppin it. Ill pop it righr now if i had it.....but when they say pop ill pop
Great news brother!

Don't know the genetics, CKS kinda takes all the credit.....thats where the Canadian seeds are from. Stank ordered the US seeds from Seedsman, so maybe their lineage is more accessible, not sure. I know once I saw the YouTube video showcasing Jack's story (+ he grew up in Buffalo, my closest American neighbour), I couldn't wait to try one. When Fly and I originally discussed this grow, the "auto" factor came in to play due to Flys lighting and space constrictions.

I'm jonesing for drop day lol.

Well, I don't want to poo poo on anyone's seed choices or anything like that so I hope that's not how I'm coming off asking about the lineage.

It's just not all Jack is created equally. I personally haven't grown any, but I have heard other growers so they get quite different from one breeder to the next. I'm not even sure which breeder's Jack I've smoked, but if I had to venture a guess I'd say it was the original Sensi seeds' with the way the recreational farms like to throw money at their grows here. That's not to say Sensi's is the best, because again I have no idea. Probably why it will be hard to figure out the lineage too, since I think a lot of breeders try to keep their Jack recipe a secret.

In any case when you get good Jack Herer, it's amazing smoke. I have had bad Jack Herer though.
