Ya could...
Cut down the poles and tuck the fabric on the top area
Top won't be purty but pretty easy to do

I know your are working through an injury but 1x2s, panda paper, and duct tape can build a pretty darn good tent!

Otherwise me thinks some homie depot tubing can splice the frame of a tent easily once you cut it down

All my tents are two piece vert poles
Just cut the part that's not tapered. And use a flat stock to mend it, or PVC depending on the diameter
And of course the wonder fixererer
DUCK TAPE!!!!
