Groovy Bud's Revenge Grow Journal - Super Lemon Haze & Blue Dream DWC

i have cfl green lights as main ceilling lights in my flower room. i often go out, and use thel ights, to work. esspecially, when i foliar my plants, as this way, they wont get burned by the main lights, which are on off cycle. i have never had a problem using the green lights. problems would be herms, nanners, or signs of dreadlocks, which, can be normal for some strains. love the green lights. i dont feel like a slave to my girls then. we have lives, outside the hobby, you know. again. i have been using the green lights for years. and no signs of stress. they cant see the light!

Good info cannilingus, thank you.

Little photo update. To be honest, I notice some stretching, but as I check them daily, I can't notice the differences that much. Been adjusting the LST to bring up side branching to the right position.

It's getting hard to get in that tent.

I think all of them are to be females. I notice 1 pair of stipiles (one on the left and another on the right) at each node area.

Pictures of the Room. The camera doesn't seem to enjoy this lighting. Sorry

Cannilingus thanks for the info mate, and welcome to this journal! I will love having you around. RSOiler is right, experience is the best form of knowledge.

Cajun and LA, I've a little temple in my mind and when meditating or medicating lol, I'll be thinking of you guys! You were my first idols, which turned out to be great friends as well. Thanks once again.

:Namaste:

Only bottom leaf fans get defoliated right Cajun?

Thanks CareStaker, that seems logical. I would wait around until I see the beginning of some nugs. So in week 2 I'm going to add Big Bud and then a week (more or less) after I might add those Sugars.

:Namaste:

Yeah, CS is right on. No buds yet needing sugar. Wait till the stretch is done.
LA is the man to get with on defol. He helped me. I'd pinch any fans blocking light to bud sites & get the middle/center opened up. I wouldn't get carried away. Over do it & you'll stress them out.

I gotta add that I remember someone mentioned awhile back that the nutes are not a huge deal compared to the lighting.
...they were 100% right in my book.
How "advanced" is one element or mineral to another?
BAR (a member) just he grew some plants he only gave a little cal mg to.
Just saying don't get to caught up in the nutes, and then the must have supp's, then the must have bud builders, ect.
Would ya do Beyonce even without make up? Lol. Sorry.
One of the best Revenge grows since 420 b.c.

Yeah, I know how attractive the "plant nutrition world" can be, and they might just do good without it anyway. I guess I'm overprotective and I will certainly use some bloom boosters as they make logical sense to me (at least the ones I'm picking).

Thing is that I'm not working with dirt here, and I fear to be lacking some essencial "biocompounds" needed for budding. I.G. i dont have any B-complex vitamins, no aminoacids, no simple sugars, etc. Theorethically, they will enhance my plant nutrition, thus its outcome, although only if I'm keeping optimal growing conditions (RH, Temps. pH, watt/area, PAR, etc). That last part is as important as the rest, I must say. Although those are still more difficult and more resourceful to achieve.

Probably I'll put myself to different challenges along further grows, and experiment a bit on different nutrition approaches.

I'll remember to flush wisely before chop, yes. I know how bad-tasting those chemical residues can be.

:Namaste:

Yesterday added another 1ml/10L of Bloom and 0,7ml/10 L of Micro.

Today added aprox. 1 gallon of water to each reservoir and readjusted nutes accordingly.
Final E.C 1.75 average on both reservoirs.

Also opened 2 more air in-take vents, protecting them against bugs with women sockings. RH dropped to desired level of 40-45%.
Did some more leaf tucking focusing on those overshading the terciary branches that are rising from the undergrow.

Had to remove oscilattory fan again as at the moment, its top height is the same as the canopy's and that way it would be hitting a top. As soon as I get more from the stretch, I'll have room for it again. Also, with this new open vents, I'm getting a decent air circulation that it even wiggles stems a bit.

I'm still not having any flowering indicators except from the stretch itself.

:Namaste:

They grew insanely since yesterday.... I'm stunned.

Super Lemon Hazes are drinking like mad girls. The SLH #1 is definitely a strong pheno, and she grew just like the way I wanted. Not so much on SLH #2, but she is strong as well.

Blue Dreams overall aren't as fast nor strong as Super Lemon Haze. Let's see how they perform later on.

STILL, THE BEST NEWS ARE...that.... THEY ARE ALL FEMALES! I see pre-flowering "pistils" in every single one of them

I'm rotating lights a bit to benefit the weaker SLH #2 and BD #2 (both on the right side of the tent) as I did before. It only stays for a day or another, then I rotate again. I want the goods spread evenly.

Now I'm sure they got the flowering signal, and they are initiating the new phase now. More stretch is awaited.

:Namaste:

Yeah 600w HPS. I still have SUPER LUMENS option on the ballast, but that decreases the bulb's life span.

I also believe that my bulb is not a top-shelf one, and might not put out as many lumens as it is supposed. I might just burn it off with Super Lumens and then get a new one I guess... But let's see how it goes. I'm alternating the bulb+reflector's placing just so I can get the most of the weaker areas.

Cajun, now you got me thinking about that "brightness" that is so much more intense than what I'm putting out now. Maybe it's just the pictures. Or maybe my bulb isn't attached in the right position... mhmm..

:Namaste:

It might be the pics, but I asked because some of the fans look yellowed out like they need more light.
I have a 600w hps too & it seems alot brighter?
Weird.
If you doubt the bulb, definitely replace it.

I agree with cajun. They are $20 for the cheaper ones... Its the ones i grow with but i replace them every two grows now. If you have had a few grows on it or if it was used you might should go ahead and order a new one and get it replaced. Whats $20 for a extra 100 grams or so you know? The next two months is where you want to throw all the light you can at em.

I have only ran 1 month with that HPS before. I don't think that is it. I use the cheap ones as well.

Cajun, as I told before, I tried to focus more light on the ones on the right the last time I took the pictures. It's the lamps positioning, either on the room, and its position on the bulb socket. BTW what's the right way to position a bulb during screwing it on the socket? Which way should be the bulb's metal " arc framing" be pointing towards?

But I'll try and sort it out. I might pull the Super Lumens out on this one early. I know I should have picked a better bulb in the beginning... I'm running out of $$ to invest on new material. But I'll burn Super Lumens and get a new bulb.

:Namaste:

Was playing around with lights and it feel and did another "natural supercropping" to 3 tops. :phew:

It was definitly my dumbness, and bad luck. So stress is back in town, let's see how fast it heals. Last time healing went fast, like in 1 day.

On the good side, I found a new light+hood positioning that looks more efficient to me. The tip of the hps bulb doesn't put out any decent light, as it spreads horizontally, so it must rotate from time to time, as the tip covered area is always more affected.

No pain, no gain.
